Don't be naive, the only reason they cared this time - in spite of it being far from the first time FB has been caught doing sketchy stuff - is because there was a media frenzy about it due to the political undertones. That's it. The same normalfags that were crying about privacy yesterday are on Instagram and Google today.

It's obvious that they're hating on facebook that hard for political reasons. I'm not sure it's trump-related, though. I think they're trying to kill facebook over the perceived AI dominance arms race.
I've had a facebook for years, never really logged into it or posted anything but kept it around *just incase* I would need it for school, contacting a family member, or other things that "normies" would force me into using it for. The mass normie exodus from facebook has given me an excuse to finally delete this dead weight of a social platform. I didn't really ever give facebook data to work with to begin with but it makes me more comfortable knowing it no longer """exists""" (I know that facebook keeps stuff on their servers yada yada but at least in the eyes of the public I am gone from that hellscape.)
