Anyone here use(d) these and can give their impressions?

Ordered a box of every size from amazon since all the reviews are really good and the smallest foam tips that came with the Lyra II are slightly to big.

I've always just used comply tips - what are the dots supposed to do?

meh they are silicon and silicon just dont do it for me anymore, but as always with this place you have already ordered how about you wait and tell us when they arrive ?
probably alters boundry layer airflow same as golfball dimples.

for me: i lost one of my last set of foam tips, riding home in a hurry to beat a storm and didnt want to wait a month for shipping and even went to a local high end hifi store and nobody could help so i made my own set with disposable ear plugs i had from the hanger and the silicon gromet i cut from a spare set of silicons. Worked much much better than i expected. A totall fluke. Very happy with the seal and bass response and aesthetic on my BGVP SDG DN1

I just love 24bit /48khz flac downsamples on my iphone 6s with nice equalization and 25% of 45 degree crossfeed. Control it fully from my samsung gearfit 2 and answer calls, I could not ask for more. (I barely use my zishan z2 DAP anymore)

>not 60 degree like a proper near field monitor setup

i want to fug miku

I want to fug you while you fug miku

>60 degree
Each to their own i dont like messing with the image too much. I just love how crossfeed fattens up the bass response and makes them feel like much larger speakers without pulling your hair out messing with bass eq.

Crossfeed is very underrated on mobile. I have been using it for years on "canopener" app on iOS

>use canpicker
>put in what i want
>end up with Fostex T50RP
>look up reviews
>"its shit as mobile cans"
fuck me

Just get some Beats by Dre bro.

>>end up with Fostex T50RP
next step is ritual suicide

The market of good headphones that are also portable is a very limited one. Some of the better ones are on-ear too which involve some tough love.

Fill out the template, you'll get better responses here.

don't forget to post anime girl feet for even better responses!

Nah :^)

Buy Beats.

reminder that there are people right now dumping dozens of hours autistically modding headphones to solve problems that take 10 minutes to fix with EQ

oh, no wonder no one helps you. just bite the bullet and post some feet maybe someone will feel sorry for you

I want to rub my dick on these sexy feet

I spend hours autistically modding headphones, then EQ them.

to add to this eq apo doesnt work for me anymore

just buy easily replaceable chink iems and use speakers and/or real headphones at home like a brain having person. your problems are self created.

What about MSR7s?

I think modding headphones to reduce resonance then EQ'ing them is probably a worthy pursuit.

Looking for IEMs with low isolation for everyday use with phone (~fiio ex1 level isolation). Already have HE400i for use at home. Not sure if I should just buy another pair of Fiio EX1s or if there's something better.

>Budget: $100-150CAD

>Comfort level: able to wear for a few hours with only minor discomfort
>Sound signature: neutral or bassy?
>Past headphones: Fiio EX1 (right ear died, preferred SE215 sound), Shure SE215 (too isolating), HE-400i+ZMF Ori pads (current inhome use, could maybe use a bit more bass), AKG Q701 (retired after getting he-400i, didn't like weak mids and lack of bass)

The best and comfiest dynamic headphones!

for casual gaming headphones, is the cloud ii the best bang for the buck at $87? im about to pull the trigger but want Sup Forums to approve (only bad thing i hear is that they can break easily?)

Are there any alternatives to the MSR7's and A990z's that have easy to replace pads and come with detachable cables at around the same price range? I'm coming from a PM3 and I'm not all too impressed with the what those two offer compared to what I have. I just want to find a replacement for these, because as good as they are, maintenance is a hassle to deal with.

if you want consumertrash that's planned to go boom in 3 years sure

what do you recommend then chief

SHP9500S + V-Moda BoomPro
The SHP9500S are usually cheapest on Newegg.

>onboard motherboard audio with snapheiser HD800s

Anyone else do this? Would there actually be any benefit in me getting a dedicated audio solution? They don't distort (that I can tell) and get uncomfortably loud at around 30/100 volume.

The motherboard is a Z370 AssCock Extreme4.

Attached: retard.jpg (615x409, 54K)

For me, it's the HP2.

Attached: condensed hpg autism.png (1008x756, 90K)

>Anyone else do this?
yes. they are typically wrong to do so from an objective perspective despite thinking they are "enlightened". there's one shithead here who thinks nwavguy is a joke and calls him a dumb college student despite the dude owning tens of thousands in measurement equipment.

what bit depth are you driving them with ?

modern chipsets that are plugged into mains power have been audiophile tier and kicking ass since round 2014 ... even my fucking phone destroys a dac i paid a grand for a decade ago ....

Sounds breddy gudd to me.

>what bit depth
I have no idea.

Is that bog calling

>audiophile tier and kicking ass
>1.2vrms
yeah really kicks some ass there. lets also forget about drivers rolling off bass on intel chipsets. lets see those THD measurements, oh wait you've got none

cloud ii or SHP9500S anyone else have a preference?

I need a decent budget amp ($10 < amp < $120) for my desktop.

Ideas?

Attached: 1328798875087.png (1145x962, 1.14M)

you got none either and thats why i dont come here often

the black magic that is DAC design / oversampling / jitter / preamp / dc-dc converters / general silicon / component matching / noise reduction / got stupid good in current year so thats why i asked

what bit depth you using ?

> not sure > on board is good enough
> 24bit > well then do some research and geek out
> muh 1bit DSD master race > you got memed

so yeah whatever pal

saunalahti.fi/~cse/RMAA/Realtek High Definition Audio (Maximus VI Formula).html
It's not that bad honestly, though not optimal.

bit depth has little to do with THD produced by the amp section of the motherboard or the voltage output. there is little "black magic" with voltage requirements so we can talk about that if you like. 80dB is about as loud as you should go, so you want 110dB for peaks that will occur listen to 16 bit audio at 80dB average volume. how much voltage do you need to drive something like the hd600 to 110-115dB? around 3-4vrms. hd600 isn't even particularly demanding either.

so yeah whatever pal.

>Testing chain
>External loopback (line-out - line-in)
this doesn't tell me how it operates under a load.

Oh, it's terrible under load, but as a simple DAC output it's not awful. hydrogenaud.io/index.php/topic,92637.0.html
It's always the amplifier part that's garbage on those onboard audio.

Was the Sony MDR-V6 discontinued?

yeah, I'm in agreement with you about that. I mostly have a problem with people here who think the amp section is good too.

god I hope so.

Why?

the 7506 and v6 are often used as beater headphones by studios because you can toss them around since they are cheap and semi-durable. you don't need good sound quality for studio monitoring. people confuse them for good sounding headphones and continually buy them not knowing any better.

No big loss, now the ma900's on the other hand...

Attached: 1426877907048.gif (142x142, 9K)

i dont own cans i have a portable iems and a proper hifi at home
i dont limit myself to muh human ear can only expereience X
i dont limit self to muh 16bit 80's technology

reason i was asking about bitdepth was to sense anons tech level. if you dont know what 16bit is you are not going to understand 1.2volts rms going into a reactive load. Infact it would confuse you and not come back

t. whatever pal

Attached: IMG_5418.jpg (3264x2448, 1.17M)

Is there a closed headphones guide per price range? It's like closed are so much harder to judge in these threads from what I've read.

not an argument, I also don't care what you own and didn't ask for details on what you believe.

>closed headphones guide
it goes like this,

takstar pro 82 -> th-x00/denon -> expensive memes

>bit depth has little to do with THD produced by the amp section of the motherboard or the voltage output.

> bit depth has little to do with THD produced by the amp section of the motherboard or the voltage output.

i enjoy cutting some of you /hpg/ guys down to earth occasionally.. look at 16 vs 24bit THD on my phone for example

Attached: iphone 6 snr.jpg (800x328, 85K)

>look at 16 vs 24bit THD on my phone for example
lol there's no 16 vs 24 THD comparison on the image you linked.

After HD820: HD820 > all.

>google music sounds way better than spotify premium

nani the fuck

>got these in the mail the other day
>they sounded amazing but hurt the ever living fuck out of my ears
>smallest foam tips were too big
>couldn't get a good seal with any of the spin fits
>figure I'll just grit through the pain of the foams
>can't take it anymore
>set them aside
>order a bunch if sizes of spiral dots
>try again today
>manage to get a good seal with spin fits
>can hear a bit of air noise (like a hiss) but it's to be expected because my window AC is loud
>no pain

Holy fuck bros I thought I was going to be out a lot of cash.

>not using tidal

When my free trial with google music is over I'll use Tidal for the 30 day free trial :^)

But the cost per month of tidal hifi is fucking ridiculous, if I wanted the BEST possible sound quality not accessibility I'd obviously not be streaming

I only pay like $11 for the best edition of Tidal because I'm Military.

Placebo. Both Spotify Premium and Google Music are 320kbps. Sources are the same.

Tidal is a meme. If you actually buy the FLAC files from them you'd realize a huge part of them are transcodes from lossy sources. Most studios send the same files to every streaming platforms and only a minor part is actually lossless.
MQA is also a scam.

>buying FLAC

rutracker not only has flac they also have a ton of DSD126 and DSD256 and most of it is seeded.

Not saying you should buy FLAC from them, only that the FLAC files they have are not actually lossless which is what you get from streaming on Tidal.

But yes, I agree that getting the true lossless files is the most ideal.

for me, its 3d

takstar pro 82, don't replace the pads though cause theyre already perfect

you're already perfect

which headphones are waterproof and fresh for fuckers like me who live in the fucking desert?

Yes

All this tip pain shit is why I'm thinking about just getting CIEMs, but I dunno. I worry about wax build-up - will I have to get my ears cleaned out by an audiologist ever few months?

Takstar Pro 82, silver or black?

Anybody here have experience with the JDS Labs O2?

Thoughts on tube amps? I just wanna hear from someone who owns a lot of stuff and has some insight to share

Hi, /hpg/
I was the guy who posted the gaming headset on the previous thread. Actually found a someone who sells the Philips SHP9500S so I grabbed it straight away.

Attached: IMG_20180326_190843~01~01.jpg (3000x4000, 1.51M)

Nice, now find a mic for it.

so it seems I was right, the OL DAC indeed has some roll-off even without the filters installed
audiosciencereview.com/forum/index.php?threads/review-and-measurements-of-massdrop-x-grace-design-sdac.2495/

measures ok otherwise so I'm not gonna bother with something new but meh I'm disappointed

how do u like them?

t-t-thanks

Which FR would you pick?
This is a thx00
Red is stock pads
Green is massdrop dekoni th-x00 series sheepskip pad(about to buy this)
and blue is zmf ori pads(most expensive)

I like how the green just brings down that treble a bit because they are rather hot

Attached: whichone.png (1000x537, 54K)

if you do want to turn them into a headset and don't already have a mic vmoda boompro is good

>be japanese
>spend all day drawing cartoon white girls

probably a recipe for failure

Attached: disgusting.png (342x481, 298K)

So this is like my 2nd headphones ever. The other headphone is a cheap bluetooth headset the Logitech H600 I won from a Facebook giveaway. It was alright, though lacking in bass, but it was the best one I got. That thing leaks, but I didn't thought that these open-acoustic headphones leak like Edward Snowden.

Thanks, dudes. That's exactly what I'll be doing. I never thought you can just plug the mic into the headphones' jack like that.

It's quite good? More bass, wider range, nice fabric pads, fits pretty well. Can't talk much on the sound side because the only things I've ever put on my ears are shitty earbuds, my bluetooth headset, and some Logitech gaming headset that heavy as fuck yet sounds like crap. Tldr this is the best one yet.

Red is by far the most balanced and what I'd keep, you could tame the treble via EQ easily. Though if you want slightly emphasized bass then the green pads look fine.

Well I bought them to be a colored headphone, I have really balanced headphones in my modded he500 and eq'd hd650. I use the x00 for electronic music without vocals like that newly made 80s sounding stuff which I cannot recall the name of.
They're fatiguing as fuck with red FR.

You'd be better off investing in a wig to compensate for your natural hairline instead of getting new pads.

>to add to this eq apo doesnt work for me anymore
>Viperaudio doesnt work on phone anymore
How?

There is a chance you may have to deal with a refit, and cold weather will affect coupling to the earpiece. A second-bend fit can still be problematic.
>cerumen
You can deal with the wax with a regular spray of hydrogen peroxide. Rinse out the residue with warm water. A rubber bulb syringe works well for this.

My hair is short how could it possibly negatively affect the sound?
I also don't go outside so it's not like it matters

Any good open back headphones that have similar frequency response\sound and detail as my DT 770? Maybe with little more bass.

A little more bass? Maybe a Fidelio x2 but it's all mid bass.
If you like the fr I would just get a dt880 600 and decent dac amp like magni 3, o2, cth and sdac/topping d10/ etc. Nice little set up then.
