They pretty much had to show their hand for release their next generation graphics cards due to cryptocurrency mining profitability plummeting and the miners flooding the used market soon.
The question is how jew Nvidia is going to be with namely, how much it is going to cost someone to buy their cards, and if they are going to use some super tweaked Pascal or actually spend the money to release a Volta variant without tensor cores for machine learning. Leaning towards expensive and modified Pascal+.

So I noticed Novideo upped the MSRP of the 1060 from $250 to $300 and the 1080 from 500 to 550. Not sure about the 1080ti but I'm certain the 1070 and 1070ti didn't get a price increase despite using the same amount of fucking DDR4. The 1080 used to be a great buy but now it's shit with the 1070ti being $100 less, same for the 1060 with the 1070 being only $100 more. If prices ever recover we can expect the same pattern w/ aftermarket vendors. Novideo really, really wants us to buy the 1070(ti)s I guess.
The vega 64, if it was ever available, could've made good use of this. But AMD is still jazzing around with their frontier editions unfortunately. Disgusting.
