>4K display on a laptop
enjoy your non-existent battery life

>Comfy keyboard
no
Its yet another thinshit

Laptops are dogshit anyway. We can run x86 VMs on our phones now so laptops are pretty much obsolete bow.

nice try, but it's optional

Forgot the best part OP, it will throttle HARD because no OEM has the balls to make a good heatsink anymore. It basically has copper foil cooling it.

I am aware, but OP still made it out as if it's a good choice
I say that as someone who made that mistake with the XPS 15, losing out on battery life wasn't worth 4K at that form factor

>No USB-A Ports
Who the hell "develops" hardware with no USB equipment?

>coil whine

>who needs a physical keyboard or a reasonably sized screen huhhHH?

Have you ever bought an XPS before? Or do you just buy 2nd hand?

They give you an adapter for that.

pair a bluetooth one on there and how is a 6"+ screen not enough for you? Are you blind?

Attached: Screenshot_2018-03-27-10-49-20(1).jpg (720x899, 142K)

>needs an extra piece of hardware to make it usable

feels like a downgrade from the 9360, honestly. battery life is worse and it's closer to being Appleshit than ever before.

>carrying around a clunky bluetooth keyboard witha shit battery with your phone

no thanks

>clinging to 20 year technology

you probably complain abot the lack of VGA support too

It's a fucking plug which is used by 99% of devices. "muh progress" is less important than "muh can actually use it like a normal device".

it's not worth the upgrade from a 9360, but its objectively better in terms of performance, weight and design

???

i have to say at this point its literally better having a laptop

i'd hate to actually have to answer the phone with that shit strapped to it

>Disappointing webcam
But of course it is, just like all the laptop webcams. Here's a question: How come $99 phones from China come with crisp clear 16MP cameras but $999 and $1999 laptops come with grainy garbage 720p max cameras that are off the shelf $0.5 parts? Dell doesn't make laptops, though, but I wonder what Lenovo's excuse is. My brother bought one of their cheaper 7" tablets, it was something like $90 on sale. The cameras on it are actually really good. It's not like they don't have the parts available but they still put garbage on their laptops. And Dell could source good camera parts too.

Separate foldable bt keyboard then. Point is phones have now replaced laptops, they can do 90% of what laptops already do and the other 10% can be done through x86 emulation.

Instead of paying $700 twice now you only pay once.

I agree
I went for 1080p screen I my standard battery lifespan is 11h

becuase nobody uses their laptop camera unless they really have to
most people have a webcom on their desk or at work if they need one

you can only get so much done on a phone until you have to get the laptop out

sure, if you're just going to starbucks then a phone is fine, but if you actually have to go and work then a laptop is much more comfy to use than a fucking phone

Not really. 99% of the things you do can be done on a smartphone, very few things require a laptop. To top it all off if you need extra juice you can also remote into your desktop PC from your phone.

>4k display on a fucking laptop

>xps
>not latitude or precision
Fuck you

it's not even about what it can do, it's about working comfortably from a decent sized screen, an actual good keyboard

i've used these "solutions" before and its a uncomfortable as fuck

>i can't afford a premium laptop
get a (good) job

But I'm a NEET

>Precision
>not premium

I know I'm making this retarded now but have you considered gear vr + bluetooth keyboard/trackpad combo?

it's a workstation, not a premium laptop

learn the difference

>cites "can't afford" as the reasoning
>thinks a "premium laptop" can compete with a mobile workstation with far more ports, a mobile Quadro GPU/mobile Xeon CPU et al

there is literally zero value to "premium laptops" short of being a fashion statement and peddling whatever technology fad bullshit the manufacturer deems fit at the time

>dell latitude

Attached: 1520285663456.jpg (538x357, 47K)

To be honest I use the VGA port on my laptop quite more often than I use the HDMI one (or any other display port for that matter)

the price difference is minimal, so i really don't know what your point is

but there is a clear difference between the XPS range and the precision range

A U T I S M

>no ports
>somehow btfos thinkpads
I don't think so, Tim

>no cd-rom
>no floppy disk
>no ps/2 ports

>X250
>2 seperate batteries = 15 hour battery life
>best keyboard on the market
>all the ports and docks
>extremely portable
>waterproof
>drop-proof
>dirtproof
>trackpoint
>anti-glare
>linux compataibility
>350$

You do realize that the point of Thinkpads isn't to have crazy performance. These are work laptops for doing work. All they need to be is reliable

Attached: thinkpadx22042.jpg (600x400, 51K)

It's the future you fucking troglodyte. Soon we're gonna have a computer implanted directly inside our brains.

>ultrabook
>soldered RAM
into the trash it goes

>Soon we're gonna have a computer implanted directly inside our brains
Are you 12 ?

And what if in this future I want 13' screen and a big comfotable keyboard

Nigga that thing's gonna have an optic nerve running directly into your brain. Probably 64K res or some shit.

>$1000
yeah nah. let me know when it's in the $200 range

Why not AMD based? :|

>Dell
>ever

That shit ain't gonna happen in a hundred years , look how google glass flopped. Stop wathcing Sci-Fi movies you 12 year old shithead

This is the realistic future
Laptops
>lighter
>more res
>longer battery life
Phones
>5" screens
>thinner
>more res
>better camera
PC & Console
>faster

now fuck off

No nub no buy

What's the point? My 2 year old XPS 13 is exactly the same except for a slightly weaker i7 and integrated graphics and it was less than 600 dollars used mint condition

fucking troglodyte piece of shit

m.themalaymailonline.com/features/article/wonder-material-graphene-helping-scientists-build-brain-implants-video

even if it gets invented people won't accept it. It's as stupid as google glass, VR, and other crap useless technology

>being this poor
enjoy your plastic bricks

why the fuck would you get this over a thinkpad

i mean if you dont give a shit about user repairability etc then you might as well get a surface book - 3:2 screen res shits on any 16:9 or 16:10 display with the best windows trackpad and decent keyboard travel. As much as i hate microshit they knocked it out of the park with that combination of display/keyboard. With lenovo would make an actual proper retro thinkpad with new components, a 3:2 high res screen, while retaining the durability and user repairability.

costs the same as a top notch 13' macbook

Attached: franco.jpg (379x503, 43K)

>macbook
found the problem with your argument

They accepted $2000+ 720p plasma TVs, pretty sure this will fly too.

4k is dumb.

1600x900 is the best resolution for a 13'' screen.

13'' Macs use 1440x900 resolution base then just "retina" it giving it a 2880x1800 resolution. These Dells should come with 3200x1800 resolution.

Macbooks constantly overheat and thermal throttle. They literally can't even compete with fucking TABLETS.

>"After our one-hour stress test with Prime95 and FurMark (Windows), the CPU runs at only1.2 GHz, while the graphics card is also limited to just 400 MHz. Even though devices fromAsus,Acer& Co. also throttle, none of the direct rivals loses that much performance. The performance of the MacBook was much better under OS X, but the tools (Cinebench and Unigine Heaven) are not that demanding for the hardware."

notebookcheck.net/Apple-MacBook-Pro-Retina-15-Mid-2015-Review.144402.0.html

>"We had our doubts on the performance of the Surface Pro 4 Core i7 configuration considering the throttling issues found on the Surface Pro 3. Luckily, we can observe no major performance issues when under high loads. The tablet is able to maintain its maximum Turbo Boost of 3.2 GHz for both cores when under Prime95 stress and Unigine Heaven stress."

eyelet detected

>look how google glass flopped
>look how some prototype hardware didn't reach massive commercial success and immediately become a massive commercia success
Reminder that the first smartphone was released in 1996 and the first mobile phones in 1946.

Not everyone just watches YouTube on their laptops

>weird memebezel with useless angled webcam
Why do people even like this

Attached: 7fe.png (514x352, 30K)

>t. blind user

>reddit.exe

Attached: 1446195455384.jpg (722x690, 104K)

Can you please stop ? With your logic I would be working on my watch

Can it run an x86 VM?

People demonstrated running Windows 95 in Dosbox when the first smart watches from major manufacturers were coming out a few years back.

Attached: 1d5.gif (367x265, 558K)

>slightly weaker
Performance has doubled since skylake, brainlet

You are right. The screen real estate is going to be fucked on these

Wow that's like....a lot. Any intensive shit is gonna be done on a desktop anyways

No it hasn't, dipshit.

Attached: cb11-single.png (602x402, 119K)

Yeah it is a lot you dumb piece of shit

No it isn't turbo dipshit. No laptop in existence us going to even touch what a threadripper can do.

>single thread
please kill yourself
Like you have a threadripper, lmao

hmmmmmmm

The keyboard on those is shit tier

I really wanted one but after trying it out I ended up buying an X1 Carbon 6th gen. I like it except the HDR screen manages to be glossier than glossy Apple screens so it's shit tier outside. Apparently anti-glare covers you stick on later don't help against sunlight either.

>x250
I think you made a mistake there.

That must be a unique personal experience, I've owned plenty of XPS' as that's what we use at work and they all have excellent keyboards.

was meant for this

Eventually people won't even buy desktops anymore. Once technology advances you're just gonna set a monitor, mouse, and keyboard on a desk and simply connect your phone to them and use it like a PC.

Has Dell addressed this? I assume they have by now being that it's the #1 complaint on the XPS 13 for at least 3 years now

wrong picture, but the point still stands
Thinkpads are built to be resilient, reliable, have good battery life and good keyboards

Attached: csm_Thinkpad_T460_06_ppt0_47eb6c2917.jpg (1920x1147, 334K)

If an XPS can fall off a five foot tall chest of drawers onto a hardwood floor and survive with absolutely no damage to the chassis, keyboard, trackpad, screen or internal components, then I'll consider it an alternative to a Thinkpad.

I can't believe my X260 still works and suffered absolutely no damage. Not even the chassis.

>judging a laptop on your own stupidity
it's not Dell's fault you can't look after your own stuff

It was actually knocked into by my brother when we were moving furniture.

That's a bit of a reach.

>hey we sell these resilient laptops that are a substitude for thinkpads
>drops it and it brakes
>IT'S NOT OUR FAULT YOU CAn"T LOOK AFTER YOUR OWN STUFF

If it can't be more resilient than thinkpad then why bother calling it a replacement

>Thinkpads are built to be resilient, reliable, have good battery life and good keyboards
>are
were is the word you're looking for
At this point they're cheap gookshit, ready to fall apart by the end of the normal enterprise cycle

nice projections

>literal gookovo trash, a worthless chink """company""" that has been damaging the Thinkpad line since the day it was acquired
>took a respectable business line and turned it into an itoy copy with a hundred cheap plastic toy lines under the Thinkpad brand
And you're sitting here talking about projecting. Nice meme

XPS isn't marketed as resilient though

nice buzzwords

nice argument, keep mindlessly shilling your gook trash """thinkpad"""

Just remember that it's because of mindless consumerists like you that a chink disgrace of a company can shit on proper industrial design and get away with it.

you seem mad, buzzlord
