I have a friend that needs a lightweight and an easy to use OS (as in similar to windows). Is Linux Mint his best option?
He's had problems with insufficient RAM/CPU for his computer (got tricked into getting Win10 on a computer that can barely run Win7) but can't afford a new one.
These are the specs of Linux Mint: >1GB RAM (2GB recommended for a comfortable usage). >15GB of disk space (20GB recommended). >1024×768 resolution (on lower resolutions, press ALT to drag windows with the mouse if they don’t fit in the screen). Post the specs of your friend.

Linux mint is cancer. I wanted to bang my head on the wall really badly. Xubuntu is a god tier distro

I love Linux mint. Pic related is my Linux mint setup.
Xubuntu or Devuan depending on just how shitty this computer is.

ZorinOS Lite. It's basically Xubuntu with a non shit UI and better defaults.

Linux mint is awesome. But you may need to have or get basic Linux knowledge

Lubuntu is retard proof, but yeah Xubuntu or Linux Mint are good too.

How did you get those icons, editing each program individually with custom pics??

Yes. If he can use Windows 7, then he can use Linux Mint.

Best distro for old ass C2D lappy with 2 GB RAM?

I just installed Linux Mint MATE in a virtual machine with 1GB of RAM and a virtual disk of 20GB just to see how heavy is it in resources. An install with everything updated takes ~6GB of space in the DD and uses ~500MB of RAM.
