This thread is about the appreciation of horology, as well as the micro-engineering and materials engineering that are required to make a fine watch, clock, or other timepiece.
if the re-issue has a flat back like the 8l55 limited edition, but also lowers the front glass and bezel because it's a 200m watch now, I really don't care about if there is a weird X on the face. The only real failure IMO is if the reissue is somehow just as heavy while losing every spec of evidence that showed the human touch of the MM300 production.

>1967 >cheapo JDM I just realized this shitter would be a perfect Nam LARPing watch. Too bad it's completely fucked, the mainpsring barrel wobble for example is huge.
Pointless text on the dial is annoying and a pointless logo is maybe even worse. What does professional even mean? Still not as bad as Bagels and their lofty boasts about the caseback being stainless steel, wow impressive stuff!
Nice, I've been meaning to get one of those but they say "slight padding" and I wasn't sure if they wouldn't be too tight, looks nice and thin on that Omega. I'll be getting one. ROTOR SELF-WINDING is probably the worst.

There are going to be three new versions of the old "marinemaster" (the now-discontinued SBDX017):
1) the actual successor to the SBDX017 is the new green SLA019. It's pretty much exactly like the outgoing SBDX017, except it's green, slightly taller, has a ceramic bezel and sapphire glass, and the X on the dial instead of "marinemaster". Same movement as the SBDX017 It's also about 1k more expensive than the SBDX017.
2) the "re-issue" of the 6159 is overall bigger and taller than the SBDX017, has a hi-beat movement, and is well over 6k. It does NOT have the X on the dial.
3) two cheapo versions (SPB077/SPB079). They're only like 13mm thick, with cheapo hands and finishing and the X on the dial. Powered by the 6R15.
Buy some used quartz shitters in bulk on egay and get batteries on ali and change them than resell them local. That would kill some time senpai. You could make a profit too.
He never got even reasonably big he just had some abs. The wifebeater picture is him at his heaviest pushing out his biceps with his fists. it is the most cringe worthy shit possible.
Brody Harris
damn that looks insane. Omega is fucking killing it right now.
Logan Roberts
Yes. It looks objectively better on any sub 9 inch wrist and even the mouth breathing retards will figure it out.
Lincoln Perry
Hope not
Owen Diaz
This is growing on me so much. It's only 12mm thick as well compared with the Seamster 300 which is 15mm...
Hopefully some brands will die and others will rise, it’s no use when customers attach themselves to a name while it’s going to shit. Currently I think that Tudor is amazing and I’m really excited to see what they’ll offer in the future.

Is Omega servicing more expensive than Rolex servicing?
Eli Thomas
IS it generally smarter to buy watches in good condition but used? Seems like the biggest price drop is in the first purchase...
>We're making a chronograph movement! Cool! >We're using an existing movement design as the basis, but literally making every component ourselves! >Cool! >We're giving it a central running seconds hand, like the Lemania 5100! Cool! Literally everyone is building on the 7750, it's nice to see someone building on the Lemania 5100 for a change! >Oh, but we're building it on the 7750 too. RRRRRRRRRRRRRRRREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
What is the problem? Any of the issues the 7750 has will clearly be solved.
Charles Morgan
For having a "nice watch" you take absolute garbage pictures. Prob fake and homo
Sebastian Sullivan
I think the new one looks way nicer.

I think I'm starting to just appreciate older watches more and more, they served more of a purpose then, it wasn't just a luxury thing. I also enjoy things when I know there's less of them around.
Most of these brands seem to just be regurgitating each other's trends and the prices of these watches are absolutely insane.
Luis Robinson
I agree. The movements especially are truly remarkable.
Zachary Allen
Pepsi bezel divers. y/n?
Nicholas Green
YES
Luke Lewis
They are good enough.. Pretty difficult to copy the silicone escapement.. Check my rear photo.
Dominic Campbell
just found these suckers in a drawer. left belongs to my stepfather, middle one's from my ma and I don't know who the fuck the right one belongs to
what do you guys think? should I invest a bit of money in getting the left one into shape? I know nothing about watches so genuine question. I really like the dial and size of it. would have to let the glass get repaired and I'd probably put on a leather strap because the current strap (as well as the case itself) is pretty battered. I'll definitely put a new battery into the seiko 5 because my mom got it like in the 80s. can anyone identify the model? the back doesn't help me at all
This definitely isn't fake. The movement on the fake ones are pretty bogus.
Cameron Powell
>battery are you baiting by any chance? If so it’s 9/10, best bait I’ve seen in years
anyway, just bin them
Brayden Hernandez
Sorry to tell you this but the only one worth anything is that Playboy one on the right. This is super rare and I've been lookign for one for years! Name your price, senpai.
Benjamin Sullivan
>I'll definitely put a new battery into the seiko 5 because my mom got it like in the 80s. 7.5/10 I replied
Jordan Cox
If the movement is indeed cuck-axial (and you could probably see that through the caseback) then it's genuine, since nobody can reverse-engineer this finicky dogshit escapement when even Omega could only barely make it work.
The chink rep level of quality is just your standard Omega finishing.
Austin Long
fuck me, my bad. my head was still with the goddamn timex on the left. I was literally confused for a second when I saw that the Seiko was "still" functioning. only the glass for the Seiko obviously. no bait, just my own stupidity because I was in a hurry
>anyway, just bin them for real? why throw them away? the Seiko still functions and the Timex doesn't even look that bad
Alexander Phillips
Shit, I'm buying one. When are they available?
Brody Clark
Set WTM lesbian crisis actor CNN girlfriend I need to watch to where do you want to see pictures of my feet?
Omega's been making the co-axial work like a dream for over 10 years now.
The early retrofitted generations had problems, but that goes for anything even remotely experimental.
Jose Rivera
> >They are good enough.. Pretty difficult to copy the silicone escapement.. Check my rear photo. Correction. Silicone balance spring and balance. Tough to copy...
Andrew Ortiz
The dial and hands are literally perfect.
Colton Turner
That looks like shit.
Gavin Miller
>Omega's been making the co-axial work like a dream for over 10 years now.
>got new $5 leather strap in straight from china >reeks like epoxy and superglue >feel like im getting high from the fumes coming off of it not sure what i expected. how long until this turd breaks?
