The 50 greatest conservative rock songs

Are conservatives patrician?

nationalreview.com/article/217737/rockin-right-john-j-miller

>1. “Won’t Get Fooled Again,” by The Who. The conservative movement is full of disillusioned revolutionaries; this could be their theme song, an oath that swears off naïve idealism once and for all. “There’s nothing in the streets / Looks any different to me / And the slogans are replaced, by-the-bye. . . . Meet the new boss / Same as the old boss.” The instantly recognizable synthesizer intro, Pete Townshend’s ringing guitar, Keith Moon’s pounding drums, and Roger Daltrey’s wailing vocals make this one of the most explosive rock anthems ever recorded — the best number by a big band, and a classic for conservatives.

>5. “Wouldn’t It Be Nice,” by The Beach Boys. Pro-abstinence and pro-marriage: “Maybe if we think and wish and hope and pray it might come true / Baby then there wouldn’t be a single thing we couldn’t do / We could be married / And then we’d be happy.”

>17. “Stay Together for the Kids,” by Blink 182. A eulogy for family values by an alt-rock band whose members were raised in a generation without enough of them: “So here’s your holiday / Hope you enjoy it this time / You gave it all away. . . . It’s not right.”

. “Wouldn’t It Be Nice,” by The Beach Boys. Pro-abstinence and pro-marriage:
how the fuck

Conservatism sucks mane

lol at the wouldn't it be nice one

>Creed
>Aerosmith
>Kid Rock

About what I expected.

Donald Trump is not a true conservative.
He's just pretending to be so he doesn't have to deal with the rigged system in the DNC

>Wouldn't it be nice if we were older

They're waiting until they're married to fuck senpai.

...

this is why
not as much as the far left

True.
SJWs and alt-right are just two sides of the same shit coin.

Aaron-senpai when are you gonna leak another album

at least the alt-right has some facts on their side and they don't start shit in public.

How do the people that write these articles have jobs.

Stay Together for the Kids has nothing to do what their even talking about, Wouldn't it be Nice is as far of a stretch as I've seen.

At least the alt right allows me to say all the shit I want with no repercussion.

Conservatives don't like new things. Therefore they can't appreciate art. Sure we all know bob dylan is good but that's only because we've all been told he's good and therefore he's the conservative choice.

Liberals will list off good artists that currently alive and risking their reputations. Conservatives will be born a generation later who say "yeah my daddy said he was good why can't we make music great again?"

true
believe it or not the alt-righters i've met are actually much more reasonable people than SJWs. they at least respect opposing viewpoints.

>Liberals will list off good artists that currently alive and risking their reputations

LMAO

that means laugh my ass off, by the way

Both sides are wrong though, going to the extremes in opposition to something is always stupid.

As a conservative supporting the Libertarian Party I do have to say, most conservatives have shitty taste in music.
To have good taste in music you have to think with your left brain, and most conservatives are right brained people.

>we should kill people

>we shouldn't kill ANYONE

both sides are extremes

pick a side faggot

the fuck are you talking about

i never said they were right
i said they're both two shitty extremist sides, but the alt-right's a little more informed/book smart and, ironically, more tolerant when you disagree with them. they just read Sup Forums and breitbart too much and get carried away with it.

All the alt-righters I've met are tryhards but they kind of tryhards that know when to stop, all the SJW I've met are pretty much like vegans they won't shut the fuck up. Is like all there is in their personality is their shallow politic ideologies, you can't make small talk with them, or talk about a movie, or a book, or music, or anything that doesn't involve shit talking white males.

Trump isn't conservative

Anti SJW =/= conservative

>think with your left brain
Did you went to school Montie? You pretty much use both hemispheres in all your activities.

Dumb dumb tripfag.

using the term SJW = white boy suburban angst

Aren't SJW white people with suburban angst anyway?

i shit out my ass at least once a day but you people are crazy

What do you call them, Mr. Happy Urban Black Man?

are you one by any chance?
do you legitimately believe in concepts like white privilege and mansplaining?

see

no but anytime I see someone complaining about the SJW boogeyman I picture a bitter fedoralord.

it's way overblown by Sup Forums weenies who are mad they can't say racist jokes. these types of people aren't nearly as big of a problem as you guys say, nobody takes them seriously.

tru

>1983 Bob Dylan
>Offspring
>Kid Rock
>blink-182

not exactly making a good case, rofl. at least they didn't cite Born in the USA, that would've been the nail in the coffin.

Weren't several of these artists and bands pretty liberal?

youtube.com/watch?v=tH4p_MX4YG8

why isn't this #1?

Did you go to school home boy?

>SJW boogeyman

How are they a boogeyman? They literally have an influence on the world.

>at least my shit doesn't burn

It's still shit. Fedora wearing shit

no they don't
they're just seen as naive college kids in their bubble. the media might try to push their agenda but people don't buy it. the fact that trump is winning is a good example. if sjws really had as much of an influence as you say they have his campaign would've sunk due to the le racist label months ago.

think about it

Yeah, but not boys. Usually women.

but if you take the lyrics out of context it sounds sort of conservative. that's all that matters, libtard.

Tell your sister I'll pay thirty dollars for her unwashed panties.

>alt-right
>better than anything

>SJWs
>better than anything

would fugg

Please, please, PLEASE be bait.

ughgghhg

Go away, Matt.

fåm look at that ass

She's sitting down and you can see dat ass.

his mom is hot too desu

youtube.com/watch?v=8kB7OR161-U

>Sympathy for the Devil
>talks about fascism a line later

so is it liberal or conservative

Yeah I would sniff her feet and asshole.

People are literally losing their jobs, their safety, their freedom, and their lives over this hyper "tolerance" being pushed by sjw's and the media. It's being accepted by politicians and made into law in certain cases.

read PNAC and tell me how many Americans lost their lives over 9/11 and every ensuing war compared to letting trannies poo in the loo.

...

oh fuuuuckkkkk

listening to Slime Season 3 atm wbu? I really dig Car Seat Headrest's new album tho

How can they not have Holiday in Cambodia. That has some razor sharp social commentary

>You been to school for a year or two
>Know you've seen it all
>Daddy's car thinkin' you'll go far
>Back east your type don't crawl

>Play ethnicky jazz to parade your snazz
>On your five grand stereo
>Braggin' that you know how the niggers feel cold
>And the slums got so much soul

>Getting your fee fees this hurt over people telling you not to be an asshole

lmao desu senpai

Jello is the worst example you could think of for a conservative musician, the fuck.

>The instantly recognizable synthesizer intro
I always thought it was an organ with effects

>Having to twist the words of rock songs to push your agenda
This is wrong when hipsters try to make metal politically correct and it's wrong when conservatives do it, fuck off Sup Forums

He's not conservative, but a lot of punk has libertarian values. He does have some savage takedowns of the left.

>libertarian values
>savage takedowns

i don't think that's much of a takedown compared to what he had to say about Reagan.

>As a conservative supporting the Libertarian >conservatives have shitty taste in music.

Ah yes, everything is falling into place..

wait you're not voting trump
fuck you montie

> The lyrics are straight out of Robert Plant’s Middle Earth period — there are lines about “ring wraiths” and “magic runes” — but for a song released in 1971, it’s hard to miss the Cold War metaphor: “The tyrant’s face is red.”

>6. “Gloria,” by U2.Just because a rock song is about faith doesn’t mean that it’s conservative. But what about a rock song that’s about faith and whose chorus is in Latin? That’s beautifully reactionary: “Gloria / In te domine / Gloria / Exultate.”

LOL WTF is this shit? This shit ain't even about the songs being conservatives, it's just trying to score some really stupid point with kids to make conservatism seem cool.

Regardless of your politics this is straight up propaganda, and very bad one at that.

>voting for a plant

>voting for a shapeshifter

Anyone But Hillary my guy

Conservatives? Having hurt feelings?

But don't they make fun of liberals for that??

Nevermind I'm just gonna jerk it to anti Hillary memes and not critically think

nobody thinks these bands are cool anyway

Everybody who has ever been into any politics at all has had hurt feelings about the opposite side.

>1997
>regime change in Iraq throughout the Iraq disarmament crisis.
>"absent some catastrophic and catalyzing event – like a new Pearl Harbor."
wew

>some facts on their side

All I want is the green party in every way but pro gun.

Why do most liberals have to hate guns, I don't get it.

This article is just more proof that liberals are better musicians and artists.

Because they're the left lite.

>Nobody thinks Led Zeppelin is cool
okay, sure

cause I know people who have died from lax gun laws, and I wish the bullet blew out your brain instead of their's every day

E D G Y

muh guns, ami-->?

come get em OBAMA

dont tread on me yeehaw

>uses SJW like people besides butthurt people call them them that
ISHYGDDT

have you ever heard led zeppelin played at a happening place? that's what I thought.

>95% pro-alt right for the time being and probably for a few more years until the normies take over and make it stupid

>listen to The Kinks, Stereolab, Sun City Girls, Boredoms, CAN, Ligeti, The Mountain Goats (sike), solo Lou Reed albums, musique concrete, musicals, French rap, gay cowboy barista themesongs, titty bar tunes, GZA, Elton John, aboriginal humming, Moonman, Bright Eyes, Two Doors Down, chiptunes, Panda Bear, Wavves, Catherine Wheel, Lana Del Rey (sike), Beyonce (sike), James Ferraro, Luxury Elite, YMO, Clap Your Hands Say Yeah

>Two Doors Down
u gave it away

>sikes mountain goats
>doesn't sike chiptunes, french rap, bright eyes or moonman
i'd call you out for trendhopping into altright ideologies but i think you've already made enough of a fool of yourself

I like 90 percent of those.

btw did you see that fucking milo talk today? everyone was a frat boy chad douche in a red MAGA hat. its a shame what's happening to the movement.

.... no?

Reminder that conservatism always loses.

Reaction is the way to go.

that is not true at all. sounds like some fallacy

Consider this:

-Ideas that are "moderate" today were considered radically leftist 50 or 100 years ago.
-In turn, ideas that were "moderate" 50 or 100 years ago would be considered unthinkably right-wing today.
-Therefore, people who call themselves "moderate" today are more leftist than they imagine

Does that sound right?

Actually, I read-in a gay marriage context after the fact, about that song.

But this thread really should have mentioned "Bodies" by the Sex Pistols by now. Even they understood the horrors of abortion; and the old flabby Johnny Rotten went on to guest on Fox News' late-night "Red Eye" program in subsequent years. I remember seeing that and being bewildered at first, but I realized he's just an old fart faffing about now and going on television, so eh. Throw in Sid's swastika shirt while we're at it.

what

Anyone who is into politics at all is jerking to anti Hillary memes regardless of where they stand.

Sanders is pro gun. For real, look it up.

I'm for stronger gun control because the statistics seem to indicate that countries with heavier gun control have lower rates of gun violence, but if it weren't for the stats I'd be much more undecided. I can totally sympathize with the conservative idea that says if everyone has guns, guns become useless as a form of violence. I mean, it makes sense. It just doesn't seem to translate very well into practice.

The rate of gun violence has been decreasingly significantly in the past 30 years and very little of it has to do with regulation. Vermont has the laxest gun laws in the country and have you heard any mass shootings there lately?
