What does /mu think of Bright Eyes? Specifically this album. Also general Bright Eyes thread.
Niggers and Mirrors
picked last in gym class core
First Day Of My Life is the best song of all time
favorite band
eternal bump
everyone loves them
consummate artist
I love bright eyes but I can't really stand listening to them any more. 1998-2002 will always be his best work imo.
not even best on the album
kinda
This album is great. I always have to skip that first track with all the talking shit though
but you're supposed to listen to them
do you skip the radio skit in Attempt to Tip the Scales?
Yes, I think so. I don't want to hear people having a conversation. I want to hear music.
Though, I did listen to it the first few times I heard the album
I love The Calendar Hung Itself so much
Shitty album. They've never made a good one. Band for 14 year olds that after a month move on to better stuff.
I'm Wide Awake, It's Morning is an all-time great album desu
eh, I mean fair enough but seems to me like missing the opportunity to really get into the atmosphere of each album.
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
what would you recommend?
when i was 14 i liked it for at least the entire year
pic related is the only oberst related release that's essential imho
This bait is delicious
Hello r/indieheads! Yes, bright eyes is inoffensive angsty folkpop that people move on from shortly. Nothing more. First day of my life is the only legitimately good song they've ever made.
I'm not spoon-feeding you. Thanks to fantano and other talentless hacks, So many kids are being spoonfeed taste they think is eclectic and thus makes them eclectic and unique, leaving them to think they dont have to go further. Find your own
>First day of my life
Why are you calling Bright Eyes "they"?
...
is this better or is I'm Wide Awake better? I don't have this one.
>I'm not spoon-feeding you.
>I don't know any music like Bright Eyes because I have never heard Bright Eyes, but Ive heard it is bad music, so I can't recommend anything to you.
If you like Wide Awake I'd listen to Lifted... before you listen to this one.
Lifted
Rapistcore
word. Thanks niggers
Because bright eyes Is a group, yes. An inconsistent one since the fucktards have ADHD and keep dropping members but whatever.
yeah,i know. you're new to music and your idea of exploring it is automatically assuming that the biggest one usually isnt the best.
oh haha wow updooted
I heard bright eyes in 2006-2007 when they were more relevant to current trends. Everyones moved on. They're not obscure or unique, r/indieheads, they're just dated and semi forgotten.
whats your problem?
did ur ex gf like them
fevers & mirrors is melodramatic nostalgia-core (but it does still sound good...it's just very angsty). if you didn't listen to them at all when you were a teenager I don't know if you'll enjoy
Fevers and Mirrors is one of my all-time favorite albums.
Bright Eyes is my favorite band.
Conor Oberst is my favorite songwriter
Digital Ash is still an underrated album IMO
Sounds like what Oberst is best at. Sometimes i feel pathetic listening to angsty high school core but it gives me comfy vibes
nothing pathetic about it to me. just not to everyone's taste
no, its just a mediocre track all around. wide awake is shit imo
Yeah, I do think you need to be exposed to it pretty early not to just be put off instantly
yup some songs don't do it for me but love the feel of that album. Like visiting the town where you grew up for christmas
i guess but he segued pretty well into the americana stuff. And i dunno about comfy, like the sense of nostalgia yea but not in the way that i find elliott smith comfy for ex
I'll take a note to dismiss you as a dumb underage trip code faggot.
>muh buzzwords that hold no meaning but I think give my """"""""opinion"""""" value
>""""""""opinion""""""
what
lifted and when jamie went to london are the only two great things oberst has done. but you've probably never heard either because you listened to first day of my life on repeat until you realized it was a terrible track and now get triggered every time you see a bright eyes thread
Lifted is a contrarian choice in trying to look musically knowledgable. I would know as I literally said the same thing when I was 15.
>trying to look musically knowledgable
>I would know
you already said you listened for a month and "moved on", its been established you're very well-versed in appearing musically knowledgable. contrarian choice would probably be noise floor or digital urn btw
rah can you stop
what are you trying to prove here
