Help Phil's family thread #2. Previous: The lowdown - Phil's wife Geneviev (O Paon / Woelv) has unoperable, stage 4 cancer diagnosed months after their daughter's birth, and the medical bills have crippled the family.
Phil's never been the type to share his personal life to the internet, especially since we're just now learning he has a child. This is incredibly sad.
Josiah Roberts
honestly devastating to see his family go through this
Charles Baker
Desperate and emotional times for sure. I'm almost tearing up this morning...
Luke Roberts
Listening to Nico's These Days and crying. Why did this have to happen to Phil's family of all people?
Cameron Jackson
jesus this is getting donations fast. when i woke up this morning it was 14k, now it's 20k
Wyatt Jenkins
test
Tyler Jenkins
it's amazing, i love the phil fanbase
Austin Cooper
He should sell off the originals of his comics.
Christopher Taylor
Fuck yeah. He definitely has the resources to make a really nice, well-printed hardback book on nice paper. Phil knows how to quality.
Leo Ward
Jesus this is awful. I'd really like to donate but I am flat broke. I feel so bad.
Hunter Price
don't worry, it will probably hit the goal regardless.
Carter Hernandez
Well this fucking sucks. Off topic, but what's also terrible is that once you donate the site gives you a big list of other people with terrible things happening to them and it took me a little before I realized that the big list wasn't all the related cases in the world, but literally just people around where I live specifically.
Matthew Ward
where do you live?
James Scott
Pennsylvania. But it's not even all of Pennsylvania it's showing me, just stuff near me. I live near a city which makes up the majority, but still it just goes on and on. I've looked up to 200 cases, and I still get results that are potentially a ten minute drive from me, based on the town they're from, and these are just the people that happen to know about this website and decided to utilize it.
Jacob Price
>these are just the people that happen to know about this website and decided to utilize it.
poor amish
Logan Baker
Would Phil kill himself if his wife died? Or would he channel it into The Glow pt. 3?
Noah Hernandez
just gave $20 phil has gotten me through some tough times this sucks
Luis Ross
>phil has gotten me through some tough times
absolutely the same here, i gave $50
Daniel Barnes
I'm going to start a GoFundMe to fund my new organization that will make GoFundMe's for Amish people in need.
Colton Fisher
>implying amish people would take money produced by a satanic contraption
Bentley Thompson
cool of p4k to report on it as i'm sure that spread it to loads more people. respect.
>We wanted a baby the whole time, pretty much from day one, but it just didn’t happen
so as soon as they had one, she gets diagnosed?
fuck the world.
Sebastian Clark
fuck man why is this happening to phil of all people ? ? ? ;n;
David Hughes
The Amish are weird, dude. They won't use pedals on their bikes. They sit on the seat and kick off the ground like a fucking skateboard. Yet, they have no issue putting neon orange signs on the back of their buggies, which I seriously doubt that they manufactured themselves.
Their furniture is damn good though.
Jaxon Gutierrez
More than half the money in half a day. The situation is terrible, but I hope this success makes Phil and his wife's days at least a little bit better.
Jayden Ross
This is her a few years back. Chemotherapy must be hell
Jaxon Richardson
Get my paycheck today, I'll put in a chunk for them. Don't fret, Phil, we're coming.
Ayden Rivera
>Phil, a year from now, his love is gone, now alone to care for the only thing he can care for now: his child. A child that reminds him of his immense love every time he looks at him. >tfw the image of Phil singing songs to his son before he goes to bed and telling him how lovely his mom was >tfw Phil has to face this pain alone
GODDAMMIT WHAT THE FUCK WHY
fuck this gay earth
Joseph Wright
its a daughter
Elijah Miller
"I thought I felt your shape but I was wrong Really all I felt was falsely strong I held on tight and closed my eyes It was dumb I had no sense of your size
It was dumb to hold so tight But last night On the birthday in the kitchen My grip was loose my eyes were open
I felt your shape and heard you breathing I felt the rise and fall of your chest I felt your fall Your winter snows Your gusty blow Your lava flow I felt it all Your starry night Your lack of light With limp arms I can feel most of you
I hung around your neck independently And my loss was overwhelmed By this new depth I don't think I ever felt
But I don't know The nights are cold And I remember warmth I could have sworn I wasn't alone"
> >pwelverumandsun.com/ > >Gradually the existential questioning faded into the grinding logistics of appointments, >insurance, bottle feeding, diet questions, acupuncture, therapy, baby care, laundry, >money worries, trying to keep the floor clean, trying to keep the house warm, maintaining the basics.
Acupuncture is actually highly effective at relieving stress and pain for loads of people. It was one of the first things my mother was recommended after visiting the Mayo Clinic. It's not silly at all.
Xavier Diaz
when you're in a situation that tragic, reason takes a backseat as you're willing to try absolutely everything
that said i've heard genuine success from people who've used it (as well as stuff like smell therapy, or whatever it's called) for alleviating pain. even if it's a total placebo, if it has a positive effect then it is worthwhile.
Justin Anderson
I emailed Phil last October when I was quite drunk. Wrote to him about listening to Sauna when it came out with my girlfriend who had just left me. I thanked him for his music and art. Now knowing what he must have been going through, is going through Is just so awful. Hoping that they will some kind of peace and joy in their lives. Donate guys.
Lucas White
>email FACT magazine at 5am this morning asking them to run an article >they get back to me a few hours later with a generic and lackluster "maybe, we'll think about it" >this afternoon pitchfork put up an article about it >30 minutes later FACT follow suit
fucking assholes
Jaxon Davis
it's nice to know that the people over at p4k look after their favourite artists in dire times.. even if p4k does suck
phil hasn't changed so much; Genevieve's chemo took quite a toll on her physicality
John Watson
Damn, they are gonna reach the goal in a few hours.
Nathaniel Walker
This makes a lot of sense now... :^(
Evan Harris
i bought a band name from him for shits and giggles last month, never thought i was inadvertently supporting him
Nolan Lewis
It all makes so much sense now.
Gabriel Lee
what did you get?
Jacob Roberts
a certificate of authenticity, with the name handpainted by him
Lincoln Sanders
whats the name
Lucas Gonzalez
getting close to $40,000 now. this is astounding.
Zachary Ramirez
you'll find out when the album's released on bandcamp :^)
Daniel Adams
who /lostwisdom/ here
Luis Rodriguez
done
Luke Cooper
ordering it today to support phil
Ayden Moore
it was only fucking 25k an hour ago
Colton Walker
It's times like this that remind me that people don't always suck. I sure hope Genevieve gets through this. Courses is seriously one of my favorite albums ever. Time to listen to it again
Josiah Bennett
You guys, imagine what they're thinking right now. They are probably both crying.
Jason Johnson
I was just thinking that.
Aaron Turner
I hope we get a blog post or a tweet or something
Easton King
It's really moving to picture. Imagine just seeing *all* of this huge amount of money flow unstoppably in from complete strangers that you've touched with your art. In such a tragic and bleak situation, too.
Perhaps even a surprise music release as thanks.
Or even a goddamn duet between the two of them recorded just for this. I dunno if I could take that.
Charles Allen
They're undoubtedly going to reach at LEAST $100k.
Zachary Jenkins
She is 35. I've seen many girls around that age that went from cute to middle age lesbian aunt in a few years without even cancer being involved.
Daniel Martin
Holy shit they're getting $1000 like every 5 minutes
Hudson Moore
i noticed that, this is crazy
i feel such a weird mixture of sadness and heartwarming
Adam Thompson
so...50k in 20 minutes?
Jayden Lewis
The philthreads here were always the most comfy but I never expected his fan base to be this awesome
David Martinez
perhaps even less, we just got 1.5k in a minute
David Gray
One guy alone donated 5 grand an hour ago.
Mason Ortiz
the average is still like 40 bucks, though.
John Perez
less than 5000 to go
Luis Jackson
Can these campaigns go over their target amount in the same way Kickstarter does? I don't want it to stop at 50k.
Dominic King
Suddenly his le ironic shitposting haikus become painfully sincere.
Jayden Baker
I believe they can
Joseph Lopez
I didn't ask what you believe.
Isaiah Kelly
yo if you want to give them more money I'd strongly recommend buying some of Geneviéve's albums on BandCamp, they're really very good (I love Fleuve)
