Fuck off gayboy
i like to eat ass
Fuck albums. I just want to listen for the good songs, not some filler crap in between.
Try not listening to bad albums then?
yes, if you listen to music you should seek help.
But almost every good album has fillers
this
only autists with no taste who can't differentiate good and bad music listen to albums
this is bad even for a shitpost, think before posting please.
Good shit on yourself
"I have too much ADD to sit down and listen to the thing that represents the whole body of work"
The only people who defend albums are rock listeners.
rock = albums
classical = live recordings
jazz = live recordings
funk, soul, disco = singles and comps
dance music = singles/mixes
pop music = singles
hip hop = mixtapes
noise = like it even matters
Oh fuck off. Your bait is low quality and I bet you suck small dick
''I bought into the advertising departments bullshit that albums aren't just the best 10-12 songs since the last album''
Literally incorrect.
>bait
why the rage though Montie? is this personal? do you have a thing with albums?
>tfw Sup Forums has been invaded by Sup Forums kiddies who only listen to compiled playlists of songs, without appreciating the form and structure of an album
I know this place was never actually 'good', per se, but it's reached a new low now.
but if the dicks were small wouldn't that make him LESS of a faggot?
The only albums worth listening to are Best of/Greatest Hits/Compilation albums. "Real" albums are worthless, and full of filler.
I don't even buy my music LMAO unless it's a good album on vinyl from my local record store.
You probably just download your music on iTunes and hang out with your friends all day.
Let me tell you boy,
Albums are art and singles get you NOWHERE in life. Albums are concepts, representations of a body of work and singles are sampler sized chicken you can eat.
You are nothing.
You have shit taste.
You probably are baiting me right now
>he is a closed-minded rocktard who bought into the Sup Forums albums meme bait
too obvious
️️Pic related is OP.
He's a low test male

I bet some of you fags in this thread listen to music on youtube.
>shitposting this hard, ironically or unironically
both sides are wrong, some albums are obviously albums that you should listen to as albums
some albums are shit but have good songs that you might want to listen to alone
some great songs are not on any albums
I'll say it again:
Try not listening to bad albums then?
If you don't listen to albums, compilations, EPs, singles and live recordings you are literally retarded.
t. closed-minded rocktard
what about albums that are one track?
shit too, you do know you can treat an entire album with multiple tracks as a single right?
No i mean like an album that has one 50 minute track as it's album. Where is the filler there?
Name 5 albums like that.
i think we have a /thread here
not taking it, you know i can just say
t. close minded avant teen
right? Equally stupid
I'm not closed minded, I'm and listen to releases as they fit different genres.
t. Maynard James Keenan
John Coltrane - Ascension, Corrupted - Paso Inferior, Wrekmeister Harmonies - Then it all came down, Black Mountain Transmitter - Black Goat of the Woods, Buried at Sea - Ghost
want me to name 5 more?
Ever heard of Tubular Bells?
this is an example of an album that should be listened to as a whole
You haven't managed 5 yet

*that shouldn't be listened to, at all
FTFY
... and this is an album the doesn't work as whole piece
Both of my copies of those has it listed as one track, as they are both one one long track "broken" into two parts artificially. But here, I'll name some more to curb your autism.
Fishmans - Long Season, Corrupted - El Mundo Frio

>5
Almost there bro, one more try
RYM says it's one track again because releases are going to vary because it's one big track.
but fine
Troum & All Sides - Shutûn
is your autism cured now?
People that don't listen through albums are the same assholes that go to good restaurants and want substitutions. Consume the art as it was INTENTIONALLY assembled.
Depends on the artist to be honest
You can't listen to a random NMH song if you haven't experienced the album, it's not the same thing
While i'd rather cut my balls than listen to 1 hour of Oasis songs
good albums are being released in all of those genres
Depends really,
there are a few Albums that are better when enjoyed in a whole.
Some like the wall are debateable but they are obviously intended to be listened to as a whole.
But most bands ive heard of make single songs not whole album experiences.
>inb4 hurr durr you took the bait.
An album is like a movie, and a song is like a scene.
but they don't randomly choose the track listings, do they?
an autist is like a retard and a NEET is like an asshole
I really dont know, how would i.
I bet theres some that do but most will arrange them in a way that seems most fitting to them i guess.
But waiting through the filler anticipating that good song is what makes it better
Proof that instant media gratification and entitlement has dumbed your brain into a mush of knee-jerk responses.
>prove autist wrong
>never responds

Stop being so close minded XDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD
im straight and i have a boner looking at this girly boy, wat do
I'm sure you never listen to classical or jazz music recorded, user.
Also singles are just shorter albums (or albums are longer singles) and a mixtape is pretty much the same thing as an album.
Also there's plenty of funk, dance, pop, jazz, and hip hop albums released every year. And classical recordings also have album releases.
You're getting fierce, Montie. keep it up
a mixtape is not the same thing as an album
I don't really listen to them much but from what I can tell they're collections of songs released by rappers, generally for free. What other differences are there besides the lack of a price? Keep in mind not all albums are made as a cohesive piece so that isn't really a difference.
There are actual people who deny it?
come to terms w/ your homosexuality
>Oasis is the standard to judge all other bands by
It obviously has plenty of truth considering every fucking music community has a lot of discourse over albums anyways.
A photo album is a collection of pictures. A music album is a collection of songs. That's it.
For Montie it is.
Thats a contradiction
Off topic at this point, but has Stephen Wilson actually done any of the things in the text from the pic
you guys still waste your time with full songs? I only listen to choruses
I listen to full albums when the album is good start to finish.
I listen to individual songs when the album has filler.
I listen to individual songs when the album is good start to finish as well, if I'm feeling a particular track.
>Is there any truth to this meme made by Antz who also started the "all rap is memerap" and "Blur are shit" memes?
No
This picture was literally made by Antz.
I listen to albums in full
And when I'm done I try to think of the over arching idea and what was meant to linger from taking it all in
idk It's just how I enjoy music
>fuck off NEETs
I don't understand Sup Forums sometimes. There's always some little faggot that wants to argue over something everyone agrees he's wrong about. You're a fucking loser dude.
That isn't an argument
Yes, some genres aren't album driven but piece driven and format doesn't denote quality.
The only answer here is "it depends"
No because there is no correct or incorrect way to listen to music.
I listen to full albums because I'm not a fucking normie that just wants to hear what everyone thinks is the best, I want to consume all of an artists material and watch them progress/find out what their best work is.
You don't have to like every song you hear, but it's nice to try to see what the album is about as a whole coherent piece.
Seriously, how fucking brain dead normie do you have to be to say "I like the first song on the album and the two other ones that everyone told me was the best :)"
This whole thread is bait with people responding to it by posting more bait
>inb4 "but there are genres that dont use the album as the main format of music consumption"
I listen to full albums because some albums are great and I like every track on them. If I hear an album with many weak tracks, I will of course just revisit the strong ones, but there are quite a few albums that have been released where every track is strong and comes together in a way that represents a whole work. It's not ALWAYS just "the best 12 songs since the last album" and even if it is, sometimes it's great to hear a band or artist's progression fleshed out in full.
Every fucking time this thread is posted everyone misses the point. It all comes down to the artist's intention.
If the artist intends to make a cohesive album, they'll make a cohesive album that's best listened to in proper order. If they just want a batch of songs, then they'll release a batch of new songs that you can fit into a shuffled playlist. It's always been like this and it will always be like this.
Why wouldn't you listen to albums? What are you just going to listen to the singles and ignore the album tracks? That's retarded.
There's almost no way to tell what an artist's intentions are though.
Why is it though? With certain albums it's obvious it doesn't make any fucking difference whether or not you listen to it in full. Only with concept albums with overarching storyline or something similar it actually matters.
>Only with concept albums with overarching storyline or something similar it actually matters.
You can have a progression of mood with songs even if they're not thematically connected.
because you can discover tracks that aren't popular but cater to your taste more than even the hit single fromt the album. happens to me a lot ;^) i think you've been btfo senpai
