This album is my first foray into music, it was initially supposed to be a concept album about google deepdream but sort of transformed into something else over time. I'm working on my next album now.

Listening to this now, I'm intrigued. this is definitely something special.

Naaaah get that mentality out of your head. Your own opinion on your music is just one out of billions. For you music to be worthwhile, only one person has to enjoy it and it doesn't have to be you.

Yooo new album, awesome. Sounds sick so far

This sound really really good. Like the songs good, vocals are good, the instrumentals are good, the melody is great, but why lofi man? Like I don't get this. It doesn't help your song at all. This would appeal to a much wider audience if it wasn't lofi. It doesn't cost too much for a decent recording set up. I'm not shitting on you I'm just genuinely asking why you chose to go for this? ((Nothing but love though))

I really just didn't make the time to learn what a decent setup would consist of. I'm sure the next release I make will be better in terms of production but for now, I'm more concerned with performing while I save up. I do agree with you though.

I actually am self learned, I have been playing for three years. That's why I am so bad at playing the guitar.
NEW RELEASE SOON, STAY TUNED (if you want)
this is so good, gonna bookmark it so I can listen to it later (again)

I really dig this, keep it up!

Good stuff! I really like this, I wish I could play as good as you. Downloaded it too

weird enough, I am still not tired of listening to this evveryday. How is the album going by the way?

really reminds me of early Animal Collective, keep it up! (I really liked Cherubim, it was extremely comfy)

I love your voice! It really blends in well with your awesome guitar playing! Keep it up!!

I don't really like how this turned out, but I had a lot of fun making this. It just isn't as comfy as my other stuff. But next album will be really good, I will really try to make it something special
I will even try singing, even if I am completely worthless at it! I also can't write lyrics, so they will probably be kinda cheesy.

I'm really sorry I didn't write lyrics for this one! I really wanted to release something quick before summer break. I have already started to write lyrics though. I promise that in a of couple months, my next album will be done and I will PROBABLY sing. The poblem is that I can't sing though.
I really like the cover though, I took it a couple hours ago. It really is a beautiful day

thanks! I will try my best with next album!

Here's our latest album as a four piece
petalportmusic.bandcamp.com/album/eye-contact

Last night we played the TIM HEIDECKER show in Sacramento at Harlow's. We arrived and met up with JP of JP Inc and Pleeeseasuar. He was very kind to us but very kurt at the same time if you get my drift. We definitely nosed our way into the set and we could tell that there was some resentment towards us. He decided to go first oddly, then we played, then Tim's band. Mind you, two of our members are under 21 (two 19 year olds), so immediately we were talking to a bunch of different venue people all telling us different things about where to be etc. (it's a nightclub). So we literally had to stand in a closet- not fucking joking. I had to stand in a closet in a hallway back stage to get out of the way of kitchen people. Hilarious.

JP does his thing, crowd apathetically claps along unfortunately.

We go on stage, Tim introduces us, is incredibly nice, puts his arm around me and shakes my hand before we start playing, what a guy. We launched into our first song and I became a fucking maniac. Like, jumping around and sticking my guitar in people's faces and screaming at them and kicking really close to their faces. All while trying to play guitar and sing. By the end of our 20 minute set I was on the ground covered in sweat exhausted. Definitely my most over the top rock performance. The crowd went fucking nuts for us too which was completely unexpected. They really got into us despite knowing nothing about us.

NEW ALBUM! GET IT EARLY FOR A LIMITED TIME! I'm releasing my album, Silent Spring, early for a little bit to drum up some early feedback. I'd love love love people to listen and download, and feedback even more so. Gonna work my way through this thread now. The album was inspired by English folklore, as well as artists like Talk Talk, Miles Davis, Arthur Russell. Steve Reich, and David Sylvian. Cheers guys x

So after the buzz of the show we talk to a few people who liked us, sold some CDs. It was cool. Tim said that he'd hang out with us after the show so we were looking forward to that. We also met a really nice promoter who thought we were cool, we talked about progressive rock backstage and got his card.

Now remember, we didn't exactly know where we were allowed to be in this venue at certain times. So we're all standing maybe, a few feet away from the backstage entrance. Not trying to drink alcohol. Not bothering anyone. We were just trying to watch Tim's set. Then this guy, possibly a bouncer, that none of us had seen that whole night, comes usp to us and kicks us out of the venue. Claimed that having us stand around doing nothing was bad for their business. Goes on to say that we shouldn't even be backstage or be at the venue at all. Meanwhile the owner of the place only minutes ago was telling us how he loved us. So another bouncer walks us out, he was much nicer wasn't rough with us. And to top it off, we didn't get paid as a ""punishment for being a detriment to their establishment.""

Because of this fiasco we're probably going to avoid playing 21+ shows for the rest of the summer, we'll see. But whatever, we had a kick ass time, people loved us, got to meet Tim Heidecker, all is good.

Listen. Why do you put this out? Like some of the licks are good. Like but it just sounds super rushed and lazy. You couldn't get a mic? You couldn't EQ? It's infinitely more important to put out something good than something quick. I'm not saying this to put you down, I'm trying to keep it real here in that, very little people are going to actually listen to this. People aren't going to play this in their car with friends.

It's not even a matter of vocals. Instrumentals are great. But even on that front, these thirty second to a minute tracks aren't good enough. They're too short to get invested in. But listen if that's you, that's you. The biggest problem isn't the music, it's definitely your recording set up. You can get a decent mic for like $50, noise reduction is easy, EQing is easy, reverb is easy. It wont even take away from the cozy sound you want, it'll just add to it.

Idk I guess it's just my opinion.

Really nice user. Got yourself some sweet cover art too. Not much to critique really. I was really surprised by the drums coming in the last song. The male vocal at the same spot is awesome.

Ambient/lofi adventure mode album beginning I'm working with. Still a bit rough but posting for advice on the mix. All.samples self made and old.so theyre mixed like shit and I'm eqing to my wit's end on the slower versions of them. also wondering if the intro is too long/repititive

blurrydog.bandcamp.com/track/blurrys-quest-tease

I really like Larksburg so that story made me happy. All ages shows are great though, kids especially deserve a chance to see their favorite bands.

You put it out because you can. Someone already bought their last album which was also full of instrumentals. There will always be someone who enjoys it.

ah fuck I'm sorry.
I actually released this for fun's sake, I never intended to take this seriosuly, I just wanted to share some cool melodies. The recording process is pretty fun, and I like it.
I have been planning on buying a good microphone, the problem is that I'm really short on money right now. I will buy a good microphone whenever I get the chance, I swear.
You know what? I might stop doing the short song shit, it's just fucking stupid. Also, I can't produce since I am worthless at everything. The "warm" "comfy" sound isn't made on purpose. I just don't know how to do anything, I can't play the guitar, I can't sing and I am the least original person in this entire site. I actually might take a break from music.
It isn't your fault though, I just haven't been feeling too well the latest weeks. thanks i guess

i just realised how agressive/sad that sounded, please ignore this

Hey, thanks for your appreciation. This one guy who was totally losing it for us in the front row filmed the whole thing on his phone. We spoke with him, hopefully he'll send the footage to us and we can put the show on youtube.

kek, half handed cloud is one of my favorite artists and the dude releases 20 1 minute songs (sometimes less) per album. Besides, user said it was their opinion. Just do what you feel like, this isn't a competition.

sweet mammy of messiah, that would be great

You certainly can play guitar, that's why its frustrating for me. The compositions are fine I just wish they were more listenable

I do want to make it clear that I was a complete freak during that show. I was on total autopilot performance mode. Playing very sloppily saying weird shit in between songs. It might look like I was hamming it up but I was actually pretty out of control not even trying to be funny in the moment just freaking out. But hey, I look forward to watching myself anyway.

Hey this is really nice. The cutsieness of some.of the synth is pretty good. Sometimes I wish the piano was real and not.midi, but only sometimes. I think the kick drum could be louder or boosted with some eq.
