Please don't discuss REM here, I don't want them to be ruined by this god forsaken board.
Dude, Sup Forums loves REM. I've never seen anybody dislike Murmur and even Automatic gets a fair bit of love (you would think Sup Forums would instantly deride it as adult contemporary bullshit or something).

I rarely see them discussed on here desu, and generally it's a thread with only a few replies.
what album did you choose to start with
i love rem and i only like half of automatic
monster is very underrated though
REM are deity-tier college rock/pop, I agree. Monster was the first record I ever got. I wonder what Stipe is doing these days.
thanks, this is cool
automatic for the people. found a cd of it hanging around the house so i put it on. it's poppy but very pretty, particularly liked "sidewinder"
The first time I decided I had to listen to more REM was when I was in my dad's car, and he had a playlist on shuffle, and Radio Free Europe came up. I pretty much immediately asked him who it was by, and I bought a copy of Murmur before the week was over. Still my favorite album ever, though Fables challenges it for that spot sometimes.
However, I also think Losing My Religion is their best song.
The only R.E.M. song I've heard is Losing My Religion. How should I go about remedying this?
