feel like the vocals need to be rerecorded or better mixed or something. They seem off.
Ethan Sanders
>clyp.it/olz54bjj reverb on the drums is god awful there's barely bass the snare is weak as fuck the bells are harsh that white noise hi hat is cringeworthy this honestly sounds like the music i made when i was 14
Gabriel Garcia
K.
Nolan Johnson
when i read it i thought you were just shitting on him for arbitrary shit but god you're right what the fuck made him think that snare was good
Adrian Reyes
wow bro what a pathetic same fag.
Cameron Brooks
keep on coping kid
Josiah Martin
what's funny is he's like 30
Alexander Richardson
lol whatever. i really don't care. song isn't mixed or near completion yet.
Caleb Moore
what an easy excuse so us something you've finished then
Blake Brooks
if you didn't care you wouldn't have been responding to me for the past hour
Kevin Miller
hi /prod/! What would be a good usb interface to use with ubuntu studio (ardour, etc) It would be used for basic recording, electric guitar line-in and mic line. Like pic related, is tascam decent for linux / bedroom recording? Thank you for your help...
i love you. i bought fl 10 years ago and still haven't used it. fml doesn't mean it's bad, just means i had shitty hardware, and lazy
okay this is very generic but at least it sounds good
Oliver Howard
whatever process you use, it's unequivocally shit
Andrew Watson
I'm considering buying the Xenyx Q802USB, since it has XLR phantom power, monojacks inputs. Also a built in soundcard. haven't tried it though, so don't take my word for it.
Ayden Butler
im audacity
Jace Young
>HI, I'M SCHEEMLESS AND TODAY I'M GOING TO TELL YOU HOW TO MAKE THIS SOUND >farts onto mic
David Cruz
thats just like, your opinion man. you're the only person who has had the criticism that has heard it.
generic, sure. wasn't trying to be super experimental or abstract or anything. it's just an RnB song.
Leo Martinez
the singing is just bad man take some voice lessons or something autotune can't fix everything
Ethan Evans
No, I can agree. Especially the reverb on them. The reverb should kind of melt back into the whole atmosphere of the track but yours just hangs out awkwardly.
Caleb Turner
Can't argue with that
Also question for everyone:
Since i'm drowning in PSUs and i found some of my gear can run on usb power do you have any suggestions for a multi usb psu? Talking about synths and pedals, not controllers. I'm asking cause usb can provide 5V while most of my gear needs 9V,so how can they run with such voltage?
Kayden Hughes
I'm not THAT bad of a singer. And auto-tune was used extremely minimally and mainly for texture.
well what are ya gonna do, oh well.
Noah Campbell
Who else did you ask about it. Your friends arent good critics because they arent going to point out flaws in your tracks because they like you to much.
Nicholas Hernandez
lol this phantomgains nigga just gettin all sorts of roasted
Ayden Ramirez
join the /prod/ discord and talk shit to each other live!
jk come chat and chill, share clyps, feedback and tips
'Pussy' has a crossfaded loop point set at the tail end of the word, forwardsbackwardsforwardsbackwards (easy to do in kontakt or manually in your audio editor), but before that, it had some degree of autotune related pitch correction, giving it a vaguely robotic sound.
what was the point of just shitting on somebodies music?
it's pretty decent, especially compared to shite that's regularly posted here
Kayden Perry
I agree, sure, the guy can work on his delivery a bit, and fine tune his recording methodology, but it really wasn't bad. Especially compared to most stuff in that genre.
Aaron Long
Any component that needs 9v from a 5v supply could have a boost converter (DC-to-DC) within the unit to step up the voltage, but it's more likely that units that can take a 5v supply from USB only need that voltage to begin with, and the 9v from the PSU gets stepped down using a buck converter instead.
Mason Flores
i hate to play the blame game but he shit on mine first in the last thread and his music is nowhere near as good as he thinks it is just cuz most of the stuff that gets posted here is pure noob garbage doesn't make that shit good
Angel White
oh, eh musicians are insecure
i only lurk these threads to answer questions for new guys... never expect anything to be decent and original at the same time, though i've been surprised
Wyatt Collins
I have a shitty PC, pentium 4 3ghz, 2gb ram... What kind sofware do you think is good for me? I like to make experimental dark ambient, drone and such. I don't need fancy stuff, just something that can run well in this old pc.
Thanks guys.
Oliver Carter
>I like to make experimental dark ambient, drone and such. Audacity is all you need.
What do I need to get started on producing future-bass music and just in general.
What hardware is worth buying, money isn't an issue. I'm looking at the Komplete Kontrol shit form Native Intstruments, and maybe one of their drumpads too (Maschine?). Is that shit bad? or will it help me produce?
Brayden Price
hello friends i am a huge prod noob, but i would really like to get into it.
i have some experience with songwriting (mostly rock music though), and pretty good music theory knowledge, but almost no production knowledge apart from lurking these threads a bit and some playing around with some programs
i would really appreciate any tips, advice on how to start, recc me some reasources to read up / watch, which daw to use etc.
James Martin
>which daw to us Anything but Fruityloops.
Austin Morris
There's some nice articles in the wikia, Coursera, Youtube and etc.
This video about synthetics was very helpful to me.
I don't know, jut keep lurking. I might be bashed about this but leditt has some nice stickies about this subject, just learn what you need to learn and don't interact with the millennials (or do it you might be a faggot who knows).
Evan Cook
>don't interact with the millennials what did he mean by this?
Charles King
Hey what do you guys think of this? clyp.it/4upqb1rr Too stock sounding? Am I destined to be a Beatles cuck? Sorry for the shit mix and vocals, it was my first take and I wanted to show it to peeps
Landon Howard
mixing contest when???
Jeremiah Nguyen
what mixing contest?
Michael Watson
/prod/'s mixing contest we need someone to post stems of a song, we need judges and contestants
Jacob Lewis
I don't think there was ever a contest. I've been here a long time.
There used to be a huge mixup about the /prod/ challenge being a contest, but I think people were deliberately making that mistake
(I think. Lemme know if it sounds good on your system.)
Nathaniel Hill
probably new question but im new to synths
i'm a fan of skrillex's older stuff and want to know exactly how he gets his synths to not just sound "flat". As in just a solid straight sound like pressing a key on a piano. It almost sounds like there's a slight pitch bend or something is being modulated. How do I do that?
i'm pretty sure the main draw of those both is how they integrate with ni's software... i'm sure there's better for cheaper honestly.
lol, just try routing the lfo's /stepsequencer/perfect whatever to fucking everything, and even in between themselves. don't forget the envelopes too .... seriously just go crazy
how was everyone's weekend? I've been trying to use pads to join sections in this tune but idk if its working so far. think i need to strip back and revisit
