The Used
I never got past the pleb point (Surrealistic Pillow) with JA, but it's such a weak album that I never felt any inclination to explore further
In terms of hippie music Jefferson Airplane seems to be #2 after the Grateful Dead, but from everything I've heard, they seem so far inferior to Love and the MC5
Bamp
prove me wrong
OP here. I feel similarly about SP in the sense that its best songs ('Somebody to Love' and 'White Rabbit', obviously) are very hard-hitters, while others are kinda "meh" ('She Has Funny Cars', '3/5 of a Mile in 10 Seconds', 'Plastic Fantastic Lover', 'Today') and the rest are just outright misses ('My Best Friend', 'Comin' Back to Me', 'D.C.B.A. -25', 'How Do You Feel'). That seems to be a general theme of the band: they were a product of their time, and their music has not aged well over the years.
However, I feel that Crown of Creation doesn't have songs that miss nearly as hard as some of those on Surrealistic Pillow. It still has some misses, for sure (the opening track 'Lather', for one), but as a whole it feels much stronger and much more balanced than SP. It doesn't really have anything as strong as 'White Rabbit', but it doesn't have anything as weak as 'My Best Friend'. More than that, Jack Casady's bass playing is absolutely spot-on, and it really shows on songs such as 'Share a Little Joke', 'If You Feel' and 'The House at Pooneil Corners'.
It still didn't age very well, but Crown of Creation fared a hell of a lot better than Surrealistic Pillow, in my opinion. It might be worth checking out

What do these terms mean? I have no clue...
Patrician is WPSIATWIN

Why?
Like, what is the point? Does anyone still find this entertaining, day in day out you post the same shit and still nobody cares about it.
I expected Halfaxa (along with Geidi Primes) to be pretty abrasive and inaccessible, was actually surprised about how good it is.
Woah thanks man you sure saved me a ton of trouble
