Beatles of this generation

Beatles of this generation

...

difference between being the something of x generation and literally being that something

he'll be fine

>not Radiohead
man, this summer is real

>not Radiohead
>radiohead is still around making albums
hello, summer!

bump

cringe

DUDE REVERB LMAO

Tame Impala is as well, what are you arguing?
Radiohead is literally the Beatles of this generation.
The Beatles had 13 albums, Radiohead only have 9.
What are you trying to say you pleb?

>Radiohead is literally the Beatles of this generation.
OK Computer was more like Dark Side than Sgt Pepper, pleb

this

though it isn't wrong to call Radiohead The Beatles of this generation

Pink Floyd really works more for Radiohead.

>First album is much more in vein with their zeitgeist contemporaries (psych pop vs britpo)
>Albums afterward are increasingly divergent from their original sound
>Sprawling politically motivated album that has a much stronger rock sound

>i am the walrus features radio interference and static

>innerspeaker opens with white noise/static interference before opening with the first song

>LYSF has a song named Static
>Innerspeaker features static

Could Tame Impala secretly be Godspeed You! Black Emperor?

they imitated the most popular psychedelic pop/rock album of all time, who knew... its not that far of a stretch considering the entirety of innerspeaker is just flying and blue jay way for every song...

Kanye is the closest thing to a Beatles of this generation

but gy!be is a good an talented band user

GYBE is shit, post rock is a lame genre

100% agreeed

Fuck me, talk about a reach. I think most Sup Forumstant's on here dislike Tame Impala because they're contrarians and don't like the fact that they have become popular.

how is that a reach?
>they imitated the most popular psychedelic pop/rock album of all time, who knew... its not that far of a stretch considering the entirety of innerspeaker is just flying and blue jay way for every song...

i originally didnt like them because they were boring, but now i just feel like theyre taking attention away from good psych bands and replacing it with retro sounding snorecore

i dont like them because Sup Forums makes very bad threads about them and yet calls them the 'greatest band of this generation' or 'best band of all time' etc

bump

>both massively overrated
sounds good

teehee

>Beatles of this generation

more like Lame Impala

True i'd put Kanye over Kevin Parker as representative of the influence of the Beatles of this generation.

just saw Tame impala live on friday at Bonnaroo music festival, can agree they are a fantastic band with incredible talent. they sound better live than they do in studio, especially on the track Mind Mischief

in other news: tame impala fans still fail to understand the concept of historical context

tame impala is more like the flaming lips of this generation

Hello, you must be new here. The faggots go in the Sup Forums board. This thread is for people who actually listen to music.

What's with/mu/'s fucking hard-on for Kanye?

Like shit, how far is his dick up your ass?

also the fact that McCartney is 10000x more talented of a melodist than Kevin Parker

and that's only talking about one member of the Beatles (you've got Lennon and Harrison too)

btw Xus listen to Paralytic Stalks by Of Montreal

THE FACT THAT

Just because they kind of sound like them doesn't mean they're the Beatles of this generation you fucking autist

fuck you

Good, now i know what to avoid.

the beatles of our generation

Shamelessly ripping off a band's sound with absolutely no regard for even a single shred of originality hardly makes a band "a generation's Beatles."

What I'm saying is, Tame Impala fucking blows.

For someone to be the Beatles of this generation they would have to make massive innovation and cause worldwide frenzy, not be a mildly popular band who sounds like a lot of stuff before them.

>Beatles of this generation

Honestly it's true. The Beatles are our generation's Beatles because everything thing is still compared to them. They still hold a large influence over music made today.
>Inb4 THE FACT THAT...
They were the most well known and popular it doesn't matter if you think some obscure artist is better because people will just favor the Beatles more since they're very well known.

Nope. They try wayyy too hard for an average indie synthpop sound. Songs drone on and lull you to sleep. Sonically interesting but musically boring

>Shamelessly ripping off a band's sound with absolutely no regard for even a single shred of originality

Yeah, I remember the 6 minute space rock instrumental on that one beatles album too
