Probably one of the better rap metal bands I've listened to, and I genuinely enjoy them. But some of the far left politics in their songs estrange me a bit (which is a shame, because I really do enjoy them a lot). Also Zach de la Rocha went to my high school which is pretty cool.

Tom Morello is amazing, everyone else sucks. I can't get behind their lyrics or political ideas. Hell, I'm a huge fan of The Clash and they don't even come close to RATM as far as being annoying leftists go.

Musically they're fucking 10/10, "Renegades" is my favorite, and the first song I ever fully memorized was "Bulls On Parade", just today I listened to renegades all the way through. The thing is that they're this kind of retard that gets so involved with "fighting the man" that they forget that they are either part of the man or have the man signing they paycheck. the ideal view of free market is one where the creation of monopolies and cartels is somehow not allowed or made impossible by either some kind of policing force or some other element. It's an idealistic view, but still more realistic than anarchic-capitalism and communism.
