u first

how

My god, SOMEONE FINALLY SAID IT.
Completely thin, untextured guitars and tin-can-ass drums; one of the few albums brought down from perfection by its production.

I don't understand why you would start the thread in such a confrontational way. You're like, "Take my opinion as objective fact, you fucks!" stop

>does anyone else think that this was produced kinda badly? The drums sound like shit.
>did this age poorly?

uhh the guitars on Teenage Riot and 'Cross the Breeze are fkn timeless

Fuck you

The drums sound like wet paper farts
The guitars sound like that belong in a middle school back to school commercial
The vocals are just fucking awful and lackluster and so weak but not as weak as the guitars

I literally cry everytime I hear this album. The music is great but production just kills it for me every single time.

what? the guitars in DN are awesome. kill yourself

Everything on this board. If they tell you or not is simply an opinion. No one is trying to tell you anything as fact.

The 80s-ish production is part of what I like about Daydream. It does sound of its time, but that's not necessarily a bad thing. It still sounds great.

What an interesting post

are you that idiot? thats a noise rock with no wave influences. you want an album like that to be an exemple of good production? is it your first time listening to an album like that?

Don't even bother trying to deny it

...

...

Yes, because distortion and noise definitely means horrible production.

Holy fuck neo-Sup Forums can't possibly be this retarded.

I don't understand, this album has aged far better than their SST releases bar maybe a few tracks on Sister..

The guitar sound on 'Cross the Breeze is absolutely perfect in every way.

How new? Try to start a thread like this. Your thread will get 3 posts and then die.

you should leave this place immediately

The worst produced album given how great the content is, hands down

It sounds like literally trash. I don't care if they were going for "noise rock with no wave influences".Their eariler albums would show a better example of that. It sounds so clean. So bad. So awful. So boring.
Also
>"noise" rock
How is this album noise rock? It sounds like an 80s Wendys commercial level of production
.

...

...

literally go to 30 seconds in Cross the Breeze dude

>not noise rock

i guess we're posting well-produced albums

...

this

Going to post this b/c I can't think of another album where production ruins potential so bad.

You do realize that could be the remaster, right? They've done remasters on every one of their releases.

Why would we? It's pretty obvious they had zero fucking money when they made this.

been here for three years, hate how bad the board is. Want to change it in some way.

its a shame that an album with such amazing instrumentation has such poor production

Man I am really not getting your references. Back to middle school guitars? Wendys commercials? You have a really odd and personal interpretation of sounds.

Daydream Nation evokes some really particular imagery and such for me too, but I enjoy the album.

I'm not really an RATM fan but goddamn that bass sounds good

First of all Daydream Nation is nowhere near badly produced. I mean it's no Pet Sounds or anything production wise but it's no slouch either. Great music with decent production that does its job.

Second I think Californication has by far the worst production on an otherwise good album.

As I said before the music itself is good. They were working with some great ideas on this record but c'mon the Foo Fighters could rub off more noise and edge than this album.

...

you are trying too hard

californication was made to be listened through shitty apple earbuds

rick rubin was ahead of his time

Sup Forums is like a pack of wolves who only respond to totality and to conviction
If you pussyfoot your way around the issue no one will care because there are other people who aren't, so you have to be as confrontational as possible.

music discussion board, not a try to be as provocative and bait responses board. This is a terrible place to discuss music. Even Reddit is better bc you might even learn something instead of seeing the same complaints about the same albums over and over again. idk I'm drunk rn.

kek

gr8 b8 m8

I'm not trying to be edgy. I just saying they should have shot and killed whoever mixed this

I wouldn't really say this 'aged poorly' since their fist album is well-produced, but the production takes all the heaviness out of this imo.

lol nice one

You know what I notice about reddit. It's basically the same as Sup Forums but less self-aware and you cant call someone a niggerfaggot there.

Wouldn't the worst produced Black Sabbath album be this?

Speaking of which, Larks Tongue in Aspic isn't badly produced, but the live version here made me realize it's not exactly good either: youtube.com/watch?v=5FNiK73zqm4
This performance sticks with me.

welcome to Sup Forums. if you have any questions let me know.

Reddit has far worse taste than Sup Forums, seriously it's noticeable. The only time Sup Forums gets close to reddit-tier taste is when a major album by some meme rapper drops or death grips drops an album

>i dont like hip hop and wen other people do its cause they're shit and they have shit taste

ok dude go find the jazz thread

>he said I have shit taste because I like shitty memerap :(
>I'll just imply he likes jazz for some reason, that'll show him

>_> what you're saying is that it isn't a good place to discuss music because of their taste. That mentality is my exact problem with this site. People will bring up whatever on Reddit and not get devoured in a feeding frenzy. The music discussed on Sup Forums does suit me better than there, but that doesn't make Sup Forums not the worst art based board on Sup Forums.

I said it because I've noticed every snobby pretentious tripfag bitches about hiphop in the jazz threads. even if you don't like jazz, you're still a snobby pretentious tripfag

here's the second (you) that you're after. gimme attention look i have le identity on le Sup Forums it makes me different

fuck you've only posted twice and I want to knife-fuck your peehole.

That sounds great bb, hmu family tbqhwy ;^>

How about you two just 69 and call it a day?
If you fucked, you probably wouldn't hate each other as much.

I'm down

>untextured guitars

wh what in the fuck?

daydream nation is literally perfect in every way. one of the only albums i would call a 10/10

Jesus Christ. How old are the people on this board? Have they even reached puberty yet?

Raw Power, obviously

I'm not very knowledgeable on production but I don't find Raw Power to be produced terribly at all, care to explain?

The production style on Daydream Nation helps set the tone for the whole album. It's a deliberate artistic statement. I think it works.

everything from the late 70's

but the production is actually damn near perfect on this album

The SY remasters are terrible and actually make you appreciate the originals more. They don't sound richer, just louder.

explain

...

every 90's eurotrance. sounds like babby's first fl studio session now

>Sound production done by Steve Fisk
>Already horrible production

8/Bate

this is pretty much true, but it does get very boring if you're not a screaming manchild and actually have some degree of considered rationality to your opinions.

moderate threads are a sign of either the very new, or the tired and old.

its nose rok bby!

...

Back to re ddit with your rational arguments and objective opinions

...

nonononononoonononononoooonononono

...

The guitar sound on that album is literally perfect doe

>"Take my opinion as objective fact, you fucks!"

Haha because I like faggots

This. Just imagining this album with heavier production makes me cry at the lost potential

Sorry I don't usually use shitposting memes but this post is Reddit as hell. You can even tell by the text formatting and upvote-fishing rhetoric.

Posting well-produced albums

kys

this is almost ruined by the fucking awful production

...

the remaster literally sounds perfect

Scott Burns was a mistake

How has this not been posted?

bruh you gotta relax on your use of the word "literally" lest people mistake you for a 16 year old girl

the melodies are awful tho

that has nothing to do with production

because the production is fine for 1967

nah i like the way this album sounds, it doesn't sound dated to me. everything just sounds thin and transparent, it's not like it's an embarrassingly obvious artifact of its time.

also, that's wrong.

HORRIBLY though?

...

?

yeah idk what the fuck the mastering on this album was aimed at. monster literally sounds like trash.

gr8 record regardless
