Why is it "cute" when girls wear oversized men's clothing but weird when guys wear women's clothing?

Patriarchial hetero-normative society and its rigid gender forms

>>>/Sup Forums/

ariel pink is cute

it's not if you're involved in any actual underground music culture/scene

lol

Because trannies are nasty but traps are ️OK in the eyes of Sup Forums

because, contrarily to what Sup Forums say, we live in a fucking homophobic, patriarchal society.

well mostly cause male clothes fit better on girls' bodies shapewise than vice versa.

my ex's have always been able to borrow clothes from me, but I have rarely been able to borrow stuff that is theirs, beyond some track pants, socks and hats.

the rest was usually too tight, and just looked weird.

if you plan on going the androgynous route stylewise then you have to be a good looking and slightly feminine looking man already.
I look great with some eyeliner and mascara on, and would make a beautiful trannie.

kek

Because gender roles have no legitimate basis in reality. If you're a male you'll most likely look like a complete clown in drag

i've honestly tried to buy women's clothing a few times because they have way more options but all of it just fits weird

Guys are too hairy.

because women are meant to be cute and men are meant to be manly

thinking otherwise is a sign of kike brainwash and weak reasoning skills

this.

PURE IDEOLOGY
*sniff*

How is this music related?

Musicians tend to like to push social boundaries, including gender norms.

says who?

Homie almost every even slightly edgy musician has performed in a dress before and been praised for it.

Because most men look awful in womens clothes. I like twinks in skirts and stuff though

Well there are four basic types we're dealing with here:
1. Feminine girl wearing boys clothes
2. Masculine girl wearing boys clothes
3. Feminine boy wearing girls clothes
4. Masculine boy wearing girls clothes

It's easier for girls to look masculine than for boys to look feminine (just look at trannies), so 1 and 2 are more likely to look acceptable than 3 and 4.

1 would usually be seen as cute, while 2 would be seen as attractive to some lesbians but not to the typical hetero man.

In theory, 3 could look cute, but there aren't a lot of boys who have the physique and fashion knowledge to pull it off. That's why traps and skinny mtfs usually look like childish retards.

4 pretty much never works out, because girls clothes are meant to accentuate features that masculine men exhibit the antithesis of.

Beyond aesthetics, you also have the social issue, where a crossdressing boy is way more likely to get beaten up (etc.) than a crossdressing girl. That's just cancerous gender normativity at work. However, even if that prejudice didn't exist, crossdressing boys would continue to look ugly/weird on average.

Because as a man, you don't want to be "cute". Have some self-respect.

>only the most masculine of men can browse my anime imageboard

This is a pretty good summation.

that person only looks like a complete clown because they're dressed like a fucking doll. Nobody dresses like that.

montie we know you like traps u cuck

I get laid because I'm "cute", senpai

Really? It's not because of his bald head and fat fucking body?

Probably because men's clothes are looser and less form fitting, while female clothes are contoured and form fitting. So when a guy where's girls clothes, it doesn't fit the structure of their body and they look like a twined sausage or something

what is called men clothes today used to be used by woman some decades ago, user, the same way blue and pink weren't always associated with boys and girls, respectively

High heels used to be for men. Women need to stop appropriating male culture.

This is really silly.
Gender roles aren't necessarily good or bad, but they didn't just spring up out of nowhere.

In primate species where predators are still a threat, females travel in the middle of the group, the largest males in the front and back. Why? Because the biological reality is that a) primate males are bigger and stronger than females, and b) females are WAY less disposable, because that is where BABIES come from.

Now, obviously you and I don't have to worry about bears anymore, but I'm sure as hell keeping my girlfriend close by when we go to the shittier neighborhoods, and it's also for these reasons that men are the ones dying of black lung in a coal mine and getting their legs blown off by mohammed.

I don't think that these gender roles are always right, but keep in mind that the secondary stuff that we often feel restrained by (dress codes, male sports culture) serve the important purpose of preparing men for their roles as providers and women as nurturers. Just because you can't see the reason doesn't mean it isn't there.

What you should've said was

also the simple fact that large clothing can look good on some people regardless of gender, while very tiny and tight clothing doesn't really follow that principle.

Honestly? Because when men wear women's clothing, a good amount of the time there's a weird sexual aspect to the whole thing.

this. you can delete the thread now.

becos feminity is structurally despised

This isn't even necessarily true.

Imagine a girl in some dad-washed, straight leg denim that is too long, some socks and sandles, and a batman t-shirt.

If she is average looking, she will look stupid and bad. If she is v qt she will still look qt but also stupid and poorly dressed.

Now for a counter example to men looking weird in women's clothing:
See pic related, but imagine a dude wearing it.

Dude is going to look feminine, but not really too stupid or weird.

Maybe the thing is that when women dress in "male" clothing, they go for a moderate approach. When men dress in "female" clothing, they go for an extreme one.

Go ahead and substantiate that claim.

This is already a girl wearing pretty much male (inspired) clothing though.

I'm as open minded as anyone but a lot of womens clothing is for that hourglass shape. men's bodys just aren't made to look good in it

its about the fit. those pants would be too fight on most men

Probably because of how we view sexuality and the sexes.

A lot of women's clothing to me shows off a sort of frailness and softness, maybe a bit of weakness and is meant to send a single to men that this thing needs to be protected, as what is typically the male role.

Most men's clothes are pretty neutral so women can also get away with wearing them, I struggle to even think of a pair of clothing as particularly masculine, maybe like a leather jacket is about the most masculine thing you can wear and still be considered a normal member of society, and because of the feminization of the modern man, women can get away with wearing men's clothes, because the expression of gender seems to have been moved more towards everyone expecting feminine traits and not the other way around.

both r cute

who doesn't?

This 2bh

gender and presentation are all stupid anyway and the day I learned to be fluid with both was the day I started enjoying my body and how I look

and just so we keep this music related

this tbqh here's a pic of me performing recently

just have fun and express yourself in what's comfortable to you fuck what others think

God you are such a fucking faggot dude.

ty user ily too

I feel bad for a male who will never know what it's like to be a man.

have fun feeling bad then?

that's you? qt/10 whatever your genre

Using Ariel as an example, isn't a good one.

Ariel will occasionally wear women's clothing while performing, because his persona is pretty much as a diva. He's wearing it to be camp, silly, gaudy, whatever. And the fact he's a greasy chubby manlet, works for that - he's clearly not trying to pass for anything other than himself in a silly costume.

Contrary to what you might believe, there *was* a time when men wearing women's clothing was cute. It was called the 70s and the 80s. Which, coincidentally, is what Ariel is hearkening to. And they were wearing it, because it was a spectacle, it was "cute", it was attention-getting.

Combination of these answers.

No clue how this relates to music tho

It's just so weird. There's going to be a huge divide when you generation z'ers are established in the real world and some of you are total pussy nu-males while many choose the path of being a man. I wonder what it will do for society.

Not him, but man, you are one buttmad turbo autist.

You're a mong with no sense of aesthetics.

Get some fashion sense before you try to 'break boundaries'.

thanks user! I mostly do singer/songwriter indie shit with electronic vibes
not a guy but yes indeed
dun worry my manager and I are working on styling aspects of my shows I'll let you know how it goes

Not mad, it's pity and a little bit of disgust really.

>I mostly do singer/songwriter indie shit with electronic vibes

Why does shit music taste so often corroborate with shit fashion taste?

>a little bit of disgust really.
this is the best compliment I've ever received on an internet image board

le wacky crossdress of shit electronics

because we are ugly

Are you one of those people who is a biological male but pretends he isn't?

>being this triggered over someone else's gender
>unironically using the term "nu male"

Kind of cute desu

this guy knows

I'e yet to hear a better term for it. This new type of androgynous male that doesn't identify as a man, talks, walks, acts and thinks feminine. It's a new trend, wasn't happening very much at all when I was in high school, now it seems to be very common.

It's gonna be a fuckriot. Every public surface will be stained like the back of a seat in a 1970s porn theater.

sometimes things just look awkward on some people and sometimes it looks pretty good

They're often very submissive people and from what I've seen it looks like they're basically just a type of woman who has a dick.

>"New type"

This has been a thing AT LEAST since the fucking 70s, if not older.

The word for them, is "queer", you dolt. It has been for years. And you're afraid to call someone that, then use "metrosexual". These are old terms, and have been used forever.

And you didn't notice it at high school, because a high school is a immensely small microcosm and not representative of any population, anywhere.

"Nu males", whatever you think of them, are not new.

I thought pic related was "nu-male"?

The new flavor of them is much more common than before. I meant when I was in high school, not just in my high school. They were just getting somewhat common when I was in college too. Feminine men have always been around, but now they're very common.
They are too, but generally I only use it for the much more feminine hipsters.

i feel bad for you

actually i dont

but youre a retard btw

It might hurt but judging from your reaction it's not a stretch to say you probably fit in that category. I stand by what I said.

I don't know when you went to high school, but they were as mainstream and common as they are now at least since the late 90s.

Being surprised at them in 2016, when scene kids were omnipresent in the 2000s, is ludicrous.

lol

They absolutely became significantly more common since 2010. They're more feminine than scene kids, I'm talking about these super androynous people like that pink haired faggot who completely reject masculinity.

>I'm talking about these super androynous people like that pink haired faggot who completely reject masculinity.

These are exactly as feminine as scene kids, m8.

These guys are just what happens when scene kids grow up to join the hipsters.

Which means it will pass as the fad it is.

They REALLY aren't that common outside of places where 20 something trendy fags latch on to every passing fad.

And then you can welcome in the resurgence of fratboy hypermasculine redneck fags.

I guess you've never seen a Twisted Sister photo or been to a Flock of Seagulls concert.

It's not a false dichotomy. It's not either cross dressing virtual eunuchs or hyper masculine rednecks and frat boys. You can just be a normal man who values masculinity and its tenets.

>This new type of androgynous male that doesn't identify as a man, talks, walks, acts and thinks feminine
Rewatch Star Wars, and really pay attention to Mark Hamill. There were lot's of feminine men in the '70s through now, you probably just live in an isolated community. Also there's been a rise in hyper masculine fuckboys since the beginning of the 2000s, so you're probably used to this.

Prevalence, not the existence itself.

Mark Hamil was nowhere near as feminine as this fuckin queen
