Pic related for me.
Meta-modern from 2014 was better imo, but Sturgill Simpson simply can't do no wrong.

Obligatory
Rick Alvin has been making brilliant AnCo inspired music for a years now (used to record under Alvin Band), but now with Lady Portrait he has finally out AnCo'd, AnCo.
This is what Painting With should have been.
>can't do no wrong
So he's regularly wrong?
The only choice. You have shit taste is you say otherwise.
No
You know who else outAnco'd, Anco? The member of AnCo who was too cool to participate in Painting With.
Deakin's long anticipated first solo album is absolutely brilliant.
Even if AnCo was outAnCo'd twice, AnCo still did great with Painting With.
Probably the most pure "psych-pop" album of this psych-pop bands endlessly impressive discography.
The new Swans is good, but not TBK good.
Pic related so far for me. Nice and depressing.
I forgot the picture.
Yes
It was the best industrial hip-hop album of the year before Bottomless Pit came out and overshadowed it.
Probably Dalek's best album in general.
Great choice.
This is probably the second best country album of the year though.
I'm glad that country is finally becoming patrician again.
...
I was playing SimCity the other day and was wondering why the music was playing even though I had the in-game music volume turned down, then I realized this was on.
...
...
This was like St. Vincent meets Janelle Monae.
Really dope.
Asphalt for Eden album is much, much better than Bottomless Pit
AOTY is over here tho
...
I still have to listen to it, but I didn't like the single they teased for it. But best Dalek album? Really?
Sucks it did get overshadowed by Death Grips, as well as clipping now.
You're only saying that because BP is more popular.
Both are brilliant albums, but while Asphalt for Eden is simply just a brilliant industrial hip-hop album. It's nothing we haven't heard before, it's just Dalek at his very best.
Bottomless Pit however was a more ambitious album.
It reached for a lot, and it all payed off so well.

>You will never join these edgy teenagers in their frequent group sex escapades.
I want to be him ;_;.
I can't look at the album cover without bursting out into hysterical laughter, but these kids are actually pretty talented. Damn good for their debut.
...
not their best album, but still good.
>The drummer is Billy Joel Armstrong's son
>This is their third album
Do you feel old?
Elseq is my AOTY right now, Eric Holm's new album may top it though
...
New Be'lakor is also dope
I can't comprehend why nobody talks about how good this was.
good list - that james holden split is so, so underrated. elseq 3 or 5 is probably my favorite listening experience this year though.
...
What's the spookiest album of the year so far?
...
...
waiting on the new Isaiah Rashad album, Cilvia Demo was my aoty 2014
...
Best album since Maladroi
Meant to attach this photo.
Is The Is Are was good too though.

>13 posters
uh, what?
This would be my choice also.
There's a lot of good music this year.
Yeah I snagged it on vinyl and fell in love with it
Any idea where I can find that James Holden album? I've looked in the archive but no dice, will do torrents if necessary but I couldn't find it on my regular torrent rounds.
It's on Spotify.
slsk
The right answers.
Is this joke?
because Sim City sound track is fucking great and if Ferraro managed to emulate it i'd be extremely impressed.
Pitchfork is so fucking retreaded.
This was great! Not my favorite of the year, but probably top 10.

Thanks user, giving a listen right now, I'm really liking so far
These for me plus The Thermals released a surprisingly good album this year, as well as the Mean Jeans. Others: Big Ups, Future of the Left, audio visceral
The new singer did a class job on this album I think it's way better than Thy Kingdom Scum was.
same here.
Looking through my RYM ratings... here's my top 10:
1. Radiohead - A Moon Shaped Pool
2. David Bowie - Blackstar
3. Deakin - Sleep Cycle
4. Paul Simon - Stranger to Stranger
5. Swans - The Glowing Man
6. King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard - Nonagon Infinity
7. Dälek - Asphalt for Eden
8. Black Mountain - IV
9. Mark Pritchard - Under the Sun
10. Mogwai - Atomic
That 6-10 range was tough to settle on though. Hard not to mention Oranssi Pazuzu, Death Grips, or PJ Harvey.
If you dig that Function's latest compilation album called Facticity Infrastructure would be up your alley
>RYMing intensifies
kys, avant-teen
