Recs:

The almighty Beefalo roams free. And funky.

Mellows you out, guaranteed (at least it did for me). Fantastic ambient sounds.

Really digging the surfy-vibes going on here. I feel like I need a Corona and a beach blanket. Can't wait to hear how the full length album comes together.

Downloaded this yesterday, and it's been on repeat ever since. A very solid discography; Collages of sounds laced with Hip Hop and infused with Jazz. A must have for any Sup Forumstant.

I will continue to lurk in this thread and discover new music. Cheers!

Thanks man, means a lot coming from you. You and Celestaphone are the most talented producers in Bandcamp threads.

R E C S / F E E D B A C K

The haziness of this reminds me of summer days I spent listening to Propeller/Vampire on Titus while pulling weeds in the sun. Maybe it's cuz you're from Ohio, but the woozy sound you have reminds me of GBV. Whatever sound you're after, try upping the ante to make it more memorable. More crunch and just a little less reverb would be my recommendation.

I liked what I heard on Beleagured by Sound 4 better, so if I were you I'd continue in that direction. I only dabble in listening to ambient music so I don't know what sets "really good" ambient apart from the rest.

And I gotta rec these again, cuz they're the best stuff I've found in these threads so far:

This is great

Hey, thanks for your comment! I've listened to some of your songs briefly as well and I would recommend some singing practices. On some tracks your vocals are solid and quite good combined with the music attached. But on some (for example Kneel Before the Peanut) I think you hit some notes poorly. Or maybe that's just a mic problem. To the rest I can't really say - not a huge fan of pop/lo-fi shenanigans.

>split
>noisy shredding
>bowed cymbals

Recommending back! This guy have some nice electronica with soul behind every sound!

Definitely reminds me of Ty Segall and R. Stevie Moore. (Haven't listened to Yuppie Teeth.) Biggest problem I have is that the voice is mixed really low and is a little too distorted to my ears. Riffs are generic but they are true rock-and-roll, the rhythm section sounds nice and crisp, the lyrics didn't do much for me, all of the psychedelic sound effects are great (especially what you did on Caveman) and are the best part of this EP. Solid release m8.

This is the kind of RSM that it reminds me of:

I appreciate the listen. Your stuff is great! Really melodic and dancey, very good synth pop. It's got some heavy Tobacco vibes.
and hey, I just moved from Iowa City last year.

Yep! Kneel Before the Peanut makes me wince quite a bit, as does much of my singing, so the fact you said some of the vocals were "solid" is a real compliment in my book! I actually have started to research how to sing better and this just encourages that. Since you're not a big fan of pop/lo-fi and I'm not a big fan of ambient, I don't know if we can really say much more, but I appreciate the feedback!

No problem my man!

Description:
We often view the sky as something of an art piece in itself. Something reflective, as we wonder and gaze into its openness, while evolving with its ever changing shapes and colors. Eric Taxxon attempts to embody such in his new album, Sky Simplified. With droning synths and ambient melodies, Eric tackles how he holds viewership of the sky with his gentle and yet intricate production.

RECS/BUZZWORD-FILLED FEEDBACK:

really enjoying the beleaguered by sound. it's a great blend of soothing, natural timbres at digital alterations. comforting, and yet imposing. i'll be checking out more of your stuff, and i look forward to hearing part 5 (as well as the completed double LP).

i'm liking this one quite a bit. dark, drony, natural sounds stretched to the point of uncanny artificiality. would listen to while lost in a forest at night.

although most of the tracks aren't really my thing, tracks 1 and 7 are amazingly noisy, intense, and overflowing with emotion, passion, and energy. track 1 in particular is just one of the most beautiful intro tracks i've heard in a while.

sometimes abrasive, sometimes understated, sometimes hilarious, and all around enjoyable listen with an interesting concept to boot.

your Memoree EP is awesome dude. Perfect late night album, amazing nocturnal sounds. Cheers!

>4 piece rock, punk-ish?
>still figuring it out

I need to listen to this in complete later but so far I gotta say that your talent for plunderphonics is impressive. I love all of the talking samples that I've heard so far (especially the intro, the "I love America" guy, the We're Only in it for the Money sample and the NMH sample.) The first song is my favorite so far, really a bang-up job on that one, and in general I think that the jazz/soul samples work a lot better than the more synthesized stuff. Some of that left me definitely uninterested. All in all though, I don't think it would be a total exaggeration to say you have the potential to create something beautiful.

>potential to create something beautiful

Listen to it all the way through user. It is truly something beautiful.

Skabetty, I really like the opening track, cool to see you meddle with other instruments (my brother likes it too)
Still gonna need to hear that Frankie Cosmos cover but it's okay, take your time

Good stuff, m8. Delivered on all promises, thx Obama. Passionate vocals, good guitar tone. Come to Bay Area, we'll play a show together.

Is Take Forever a cover? The riff is very familiar. I think the riff reminds me of one of The Fall songs. That's ok though, I don't think it sounds so close that it sounds like you steal it. I'm just trying to figure out what song it reminds me of.

Cute. But not enough. I like the warmth, but I don't feel like track has reached it's full potential, still sounds like a skeleton, that you can develope more. Maybe vocals could help.

Pretty cool, very enjoyable. Love the screeches.

Bay area might be out of the budget. Appreciate the listen and feedback.
Not a cover, or consciously ripped off and I'm not familiar enough with their catalogue to help. Probably more 2nd generation The Fall influence than direct. I'll bookmark your stuff to listen to later.

Save yourself the trouble and don't bother to bookmark it. Straight up horse-shit, dude.

Listening to the rest of your album. Great stuff. Recommended and downloaded.

What the Bread on Bread guy said about you sounding like Half Japanese was right (especially the fake horns in the first track), but you sound even more like the Dead Milkmen.

Thanks for listening guys

Just finished listening to album and this is some of the greatest stuff I've heard at bandcamp threads. Really solid, strong song writing, fun music, original melodies and sound.

Just first impressions on first handful of tracks listening while driving, I dig it. Television, The Clash, and Can maybe? come to mind.
