I'm reading the Bell Jar right now and it's nothing like I expected, but I'm only 50 pages in. Although it's enjoyable, I'm not too excited to keep reading about the New York Fashion scene, maybe I'm just an idiot and misinterpret everything.

The Bell Jar is pretty trash book that pretty much only women seem to like or relate to.

Her poetry is far superior. If you like poetry that is.

Taxi Driver was my second choice, great taste for the sound of silence too.

If your favorite book is mandatory reading for 9th graders, you haven't read enough books to have a real opinion.

>it's famous so it's bad

You're one of those plebs who bitches about the Beatles not being influential just because you listened to them in middle school

All tough, but good questions. They all change from week to week.

Orwell is a shit story writer. The themes of the book are very basic, a literal child could understand them. And they're very obvious too. There's dozens of pages dedicated to Winston reading from the fake book. Orwell made the reader read dozens of pages of a bunch of bullshit so he can make some filler.

BNW is better, but it's not good either.

Nice. I like how you're not trying to seem cool and i can tell that you actually love these things.

That's some patrician bait.

Moby-Dick is famous, much more so than 1984. Is it bad? No, it's regarded by pretty much everyone as one of if not the greatest English novels of all time. What point are you trying to prove?

Again, not suggesting a good book.
