Modern Krautrock albums?

Pic related is one of my favourite albums ever, but I'm really pining something similar with modern production. Anything out there like it from the 21st Century?

krautrock is dead

Not even.

Föllakzoid tried it with II but it just has motorik beats and lush synths. Nothing like CAN.

And theres nothing like CAN....

why the fuck would you want that

kill yourslef

What? Lol

for some reason that new deerhoof album kind of keeps bringing can to mind

I have searched for it too user theres nothing like it. Just check out old krautrock albums like Faust,Amon Düül 2 or Neu!

Krautrock was experimental german rock music from late 60s and 70s. It literally can't be made in 21st century.

Heard 'em all family

I might have to revive the genre

>indie rock is not a genre guys

What

Not 21st century, but try Stereolab

Super ae and Vision Creation Newsun by Boredoms are what you're looking for, OP, especially Vision.

Downloaded Boredoms ages ago and never listened to it. Thanks

Follkazoid is ok

Someone from the band is shilling them here btw (not me)

....nmad

>tripfag
>can't spell yourself
This (you) is out of pity.

Check out stuff by Japanese bands like Boredoms, Nisennenmondai, Yura Yura Teikoku, etc. it's all like noise/psych Rock with grooves which can be described as modern krautrock.

If you don't mind metal you might wanna check out Aluk Todolo's approach to the genre which is a mix of krautrock and metal.

Not krautrock or modern but I'll just rec Manfred Schoof's European Echoes. It's the kinda free jazz that heavily inspired Tago Mago's second half. Also why I personally prefer Future Days as that's more Can being themselves even if that atmosphere from the album's been copied by a ton of bands.

White+ aka 白+

Krautrocky duo from Shanghai

While there's nothing actually like CAN there's a nice scene in italy known as "italian occult psychedelia" with come major kraut influences that can do the trick

how did i know the first posts in this thread would be ignorant shitposting
but yes, there is quite a good chunk of modern music being made with at least a huge krautrock influence

this is a bit more on the nu-prog side but there are a lot of elements here that recall the psychedelic parts of krautrock

Krautrock isn't a genre, it's a movement. That may seem pedantic, but it's true. "Modern krautrock" isn't krautrock because krautrock is defined by the time and place it was produced in (that time has ended).

i hop those ugly links work

creating such a rigid definition for the word is just dumb
that's what the word meant at the time, but when that era ended and bands who made music "in the style of" krautrock began to pop up in different countries, the utility of the word as a genre descriptor is pretty obvious

there's literally no justification for restraining it from such use

"in the style of" krautrock =/= krautrock
