...
Friendly reminder that if you consider this to be post-punk, you're fucking retarded
I consider it rock.
Its all rock.
Stop being so autistic with rock genres.
why?
"Post-Punk" isn't a genre. It's just a term made up by the British music press when the UK started generating bands that were ripping off Talking Heads, Television and Patti Smith instead of The Ramones, all of whom were part of the same scene and just considered "punk."
all genres are made up moron
ok. I am "fucking retarded"
so what are some real post punk albums
Everyone who has posted in this thread so far is actually correct.
Genres are made up, musical scenes are much larger than genres and tend to incorporate multiple named genres.
it's poptism-core
learn to read rtard
It's not really post-punk because it came out while the original punk scene still existed
so they are first wave punk?
...
It's polyphonic dadrock.

public image limited - second edition
lots of post-punk albums came out when the original punk scene still existed
television basically started the original punk scene years before this album anyway so it would make sense that they were ahead of the curve a bit
Rock; Art Punk
It is punk influenced, but still totally different. How is that not pp.
You fucking sperg, the "post" label only requires the punk scene to had existed at the time, because it means that post-punk actually took influence from punk.
If it was like you say, post-rock wouldn't even exist.
Does this sound like Marquee Moon to anybody?
Art Punk
lmao i bet no one in here has even read simon reynolds book on post punk
>in favor of experimentation with production techniques and non-rock musical styles such as [...] jazz.
>previous musical styles did serve as touchstones for the movement including particular brands of glam, art rock...
Literally Marquee Moon
link?
>post-punk
>opposed to rockism
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
You're right. It's just shitty dadrock.
not a genre
what constitute a 'genre'?
u can find an epub on slsk or aaaargh or something
>Rejection of aesthetics perceived as traditionalist.
Marquee Moon on the surface sounds like a typical rock album. The jazz influence is in the composition, not the overall sound.
whatever the term 'art punk' lacks
You sure convinced me.
I hate all of you
Good. We hate you too.
Define "we"
All of us.
