Bask Psychosis - Hex
Pretty much as low-key and comfy as you can get with post-rock, one of my favorites

define overdramatic?

in terms of GY!BE, visions of a desolate apocalyptic landscape in which all hope is dead is about as dramatic as it can get...that said that's one of my favorite albums.

but, i think you're looking for Stereolab or Tortoise. I would consider Slint overdramatic

my comfy jam

bruhh EVERY MOGWAI ALBUM EVER
The Hawk is Howling, Hardcore Will Never Die, But You Will and perhaps Young Team some of my favourites.

This. Mogwai aren't so big on the climaxes and all that. And all their albums are different to the last.

Mah nigga'

>dat Rano Pano

mogwai is the most solid band ever desu senpai

is mogwai a meme or are you being serious?

...

im forreal. check out Young Team and Happy Songs for Happy People and Atomic. They are incredibly solid across their career. Diverse, and continually interesting. I like some particular songs and maybe even albums better but I have never found a band which has been as consistently good across their discography. Happy listening, my man.

They don't get spammed or memed on this board because they arent p4kore

not OP but thanks Fampai will check them out

Like a lot of genres postrock became more of a formula than an exploration as time went on so there is a lot of mediocre shit but check out:
Do Make Say Think - Winter Hymn Country Hymn Secret Hymn
Mogwai - Young Team (just to start...)
Gastre Del Sol - Upgrade and Afterlife
Glenn Branca - Lesson No. 1

And the bands:
Pram
A Minor Forest
Talk Talk
Fly Pan Am

If you are in to electronic-y stuff and stuff that borders on the gaze:

Tim Hecker
Jefre Cantu Laresma
Max Richter
Belong

Could go on but why

>Glenn Branca - Lesson No. 1

Why not The Ascension?

>A Minor Forest

I agree with this but not Slint or Rodan?

Or even June Of 44, Shipping News, Rachel's?

tortoise

Slow riot ep. Best release in the entire genre

pro-tip: you can't

I really like Lesson No 1. As for the others, I was going off the cuff and prefer A Minor Forest to slint though every one interested should definitely listen to them, for sure.

>prefer A Minor Forest to slint

That's interesting, why is that? Most folks dismiss them as ripoff artists.

I just do not favor slint, to be honest. If I had really thought it through, though, I would have said threnody ensemble, actually.

For sure. Threnody Ensemble's work is amazing. It's a shame they didn't put out a lot of material.

Try swans trilogy

i actually like boring overdramatric shit but if you want more conventional rock sounding post rock then check out Cul De Sac or mogwai

June of 44 is a good shout.
