Just released a harsh noise album, if anybody listened to it I would fall in love with them. If someone was to give feedback I would marry them.

William Morgan
Fine ill fucking listen to it god damnit give me one fucking minute alright
Evan Jenkins
>there are people who actually rate an album after playing it once in the background >there are people who dont revisit albums until they form a cohesive opinion about them its actually disgusting beyond words
Michael Davis
tip: if you ever come across a beer called Rochefort 8 or Rochefort 10 (they're quite common around here, dunno how common they are outside of Belgium and The Netherlands, though), buy it without a second thought. Absolutely god tier beer.
Michael Wright
Beer thousand
Robert Wilson
I listen to all music 1.5 speed. It helps me get through albums faster so I can inflate my RYM ratings while still feeling morally confident in myself.
Hudson Young
had a Rochefort 8 was a semi religious experience
def will grab another if i see it anywhere, it is impossible to get here outside of ordering it sadly.
William Thomas
1.35x speed is the most patrician speed to listen at.
Colton Diaz
10's even better, truly fucking brilliant
Wyatt Price
Just listened, I don't really know much about harsh noise apart from liking Metal Machine Music but I didn't want to turn it off at any point. Other than that I don't really know what to say apart from I found it enjoyable enough. Sorry my feedback isnt constructive at all. Just thought you'd like to know I at least listened.
Dylan Hill
I'm at a friends House so i'm able to shitpost now. What have you listened to this past week dailyman? You can form a very solid opinion in a first listen. Revisits might change your opinion but 1 listen could be enough for a lot of albums
Ayden Gray
one a c t i v e listen yes
mostly just some more famous jazz albums I´ve missed
Isaiah Ross
Active listen? Like, you jog in place while the album is playing?
Jackson Gutierrez
You have to fight off bears while listening. Adrenaline rushes are the only way to really appreciate music.
Brayden Nguyen

No it's giving your all to listen to music. Whenever i listen to TD - Zeit or Eleh i like to sit on a wooden chair that faces a wall and i try my hardest not to blink, which makes me get absorbed in the music
Robert Walker
Pleb. I only listen to music when immersed in sensory deprivation tanks.
Xavier Jackson
>not putting on a blindfold i bet you also breath while listening fucking plebs lmao
But if i put a blindfold i don't see reality twist before my eyes

Tetsu Saitoh - Stone Out (1st impressions) Have you ever fucked around on an unstrument, making weird sounds and patterns and thought "I bet if a bunch of talented musicians played off this idea, it'd make some pretty cool shit! And holy shit, this is cool. It is free-improv without all the hang-ups of regular free improv, in that it exudes enough structure for each piece to be uniquely interesting. I'd hesitate to call this third-stream, as it isn't particularly 'jazzy' and certainly wouldn't pass for 'classical', but I think it serves as a loosely apt description; it's hard to pull influences from this one. That said, this is not Sunday morning music, or background music at a party, nor fitting for just about any other scenario where music would be played at. This is music solely be listened to attentively, and loving it or hating it both seem like equally valid responses. Fortunately, I align on the 'love it' side of things. 8.5

I'm confused. Do people Turn off their trips for this things or do actual anons post here? I don't see the fun in /daily/ if you don't have a trip

Relentless recording sessions and attempting to hone my studio skills. Seems productive, but on the flip, its also resulted in me spending a lot less time appreciating sounds other than my own. Back on Sup Forums to kill time during this hybernation o' inspiration. How you been mate?

Hello, huge Tim Buckley dickrider here. The correct answers, in order are: Tier 1: Starsailor / Live At The Troubadorr 1969 Tier 2: Happy Sad / Goodbye and Hello / Dream Letter 1968 Tier 3: Lorca / Blue Afternoon
Anything not on this list is wrong.
Colton Walker
New Fishmans didn't come today so I just skipped. I'll rip once I have it.

yep, gonna check out the rest of his stuff real soon.

DOPE I'm listening to Troubadour 1969 live right now. If you're in for the long haul, I'd start at Goodbye and Hello and move forward. His live stuff is definitely not something you want to skip over. I might even recommend listening to Dream Letter first as it's probably the best statement from his pure folk era.
Brayden Davis
i just downloaded dream letter, actually.
and yeah, I'll probably go (mostly) chronologically.

Melorman - Out in a Field (2009) >idm, downtempo
Literally the same exact record as that Bonobo one I listened to for this chart a couple days ago. Pleasant enough downtempo, almost IDM-ish stuff, but it's just a total bore at points. I can't remember a single motif from these album, even after a couple listens. Well, there is a cool song where the beat is constructed from a very distinctly mechanical, piston-esque sound, but that's really it. Totally pleasant and well put together, but it just doesn't grab me a single bit.

The Blue Nile - Hats (1989) >sophisti-pop
With this, Viva Hate, Green River, and Still Brazy, my taste has been totally betraying me lately. Ultra lush, exceedingly well-produced, smooth as silk 80s pop music is totally the antithesis to everything I generally like in music, but this is fucking /good/. Loses a fair bit of steam in it's second half, as it really doesn't have any ideas past "sad, lonely man trapped in a lush sea of great production and drum machines", but the first four or so tracks are pretty damn great, I just love the atmosphere this creates. And it is quite a fair bit cheesy at points, but eh, that's just par for the course with this kind of music.

i'd like to apologize for how much i've changed the albums on this list but some things i couldn't find a decent download for and i just didn't care enough to search for a working one
i'm very committed, i know!
Delia Derbyshire & Barry Bermange - Invention for Radio No. 1: The Dreams (1964) >tape music, spoken word, experimental, ambient
Definitely more of a super interesting historical landmark than a super engaging piece of ambient tape music, but it's still really cool to listen to. It's anachronistic as hell, the real big pioneers of ambient like Popol Vuh, Tangerine, Dream, and Fripp/Eno wouldn't be doing stuff like this for another half-decade, and this is more out there and just batshit insane than the rest of these artists' output put together. The pieces themself are a bit plodding and uninteresting at times, rarely changing in a meaningful way, but the spoken word over the tops of these pieces adds so much to the creepy, unsettling atmosphere of the recording as a whole. Really interesting stuff.

i havent found enjoyment in brutal death metal for some time but atm im feeling like going back to it a bit
vocals are usually just boring, it blends together easily because of general timbral monotony and the fact that the tracks arent "compressable" (to one main idea) but exactly that latter aspect - tracks jumping from one short, punchy passage to another swiftly - is kinda what i feel like rn
idk that happens to me a lot, writing off a style or artist and then oh, wanna hear that
pic related distinguishes itself from the bunch a little bit with its convoluted riffs
>>sophisti-pop that and new romantic sound like they might well be worst genres ever desu
Mason Gonzalez
ffs has ruggles uploaded his rec yet?
Daniel Watson
oh were you waiting for me to up it? i dont have it downloaded so i should probably just change the rec if thats alright with you if so, it's Mac Demarco- 2
