POST OPINIONS YOU MAY HAVE ABOUT REVEREND (particularly the Descent)

reverendguitars.com/instrument/descent-ra-baritone/

Probably gonna commit once my cash clears.

Please talk shit. I haven't heard anything but good things and I don't believe it.

I just watched the first 2 episodes of K-On! Why do you weebs keep posting this degenerate garbage?

I've been looking into this recently, too. It looks like it's probably the best baritone on the market.

Watch the whole thing.
Go full degenerate, I know you want it.

please don't bother with the humbucker version. Baritones are just so much better with single coils. Split coils could be good too. But humbuckers are just incredibly muddy. I know it's got a bass contour and all, but I feel it would be way more usable with single coils.

How long did it take you guys to be able to tune by ear? Just for standard tuning.

I hate that show, too, total garbage. I am a weeb though. The only good thing that ever came out of k-on is this.
youtu.be/aTCP1IIWcew

I can tune to a tone or something, I can't just tune to a note from memory, very few people can. Anyways I've been playing for almost 4 years.

I can tune the low E string from memory and then use the fifth fret trick to go from there. Been playing for 14 years but only put actual effort in for the last 3 years.

i just made up this little piece, still unfinished/unformed but id love some criticism on it. botched the ending notes timing a bit but the feel is there, it is 2 am after all lol.

tell me what you think! clyp.it/s4giyall

My criticism is that it isn't longer. Good vibes there dood

My primary concern with the other model is that I'm worried about the tension on the tremolo. I rationally know it won't be a problem, but something about the guitar being a baritone makes me feel like it's not going to last.

Besides, I play rhythm.

I'm quite new to playing guitar and was wondering if I should get a Telecaster or Jazzmaster for my first electric guitar? I listen to typical indiefag stuff if that helps.

Also, apologies for asking this same type of question that gets asked by new players everyday in these threads.

Why is this a thing?

Humbucker or single coil for shoe gaze-y pop? It's a strat btw

thanks man! ill work on it tomorrow.
got alot of shit to record and eventually post here.
if any of you would like, i have just one more of my pieces online. this ones actually finished.
youtube.com/watch?v=V7oaSLxaYOo

Just provides a different way of looking at the same notes. Sort of like 6 string bass players in rock bands who don't use the extended range, they just like how it positions the notes relative to each other. There's less wrist motion involved in playing 2/3 octave scales on the same 3/4 frets and some people like that. Others would rather use their wrists than fingers and prefer 4 strings and to just move up and down the neck. Whatever gets you hard, dude.

I like them

I don't think you need to or should get a brand name guitar, but I will say a telecaster style guitar is better for a beginner, simply for the lack of a tremolo. It is also a bit easier to set up.

doesn't matter, but an hss strat is pretty nice.

Tfw no matter how much you stay away from the stereotypes people still look down on you for playing 8.
Sorry for wanting to innovate and not do the same thing over and over since the 50s. Fuck me right?

A Tele doesn't have a tremolo

I guess

I dunno, to me it does seem more useful as a solo instrument, but I wouldn't look down on someone for using one with a bassist involved. I think people are just sceptical considering what it has been used for.

>Sorry for wanting to innovate and not do the same thing over and over since the 50s. Fuck me right?

Sounds like they're not looking down on you because of your 8 and more because you're a cunt.

what has it been used for

...yes?

Djent dummy

Ignore me, I'm a retard

chugging
metal in general also doesn't get as much respect as I guess it should. But I don't really know if metal should get more respect or not since I don't listen to it.

You know, those metal bands that just play the open notes on the lowest string. Were the tab is just 0 0 0 0 0 0 0

/good morning /gg/

nigger where do you live

also seeing the same message and image every day really reminds me of a certain transexual we got rid of

Anyone else an amp-sim sort of dude?

I decided to stop pirating so many VSTs and just go FOSS for everything. It's surprisingly not even much worse than a pirated Windows with thousands of dollars of cracked software, but there's just some stupid shit that comes with not knowing the general Linux workflow yet. Like how to use real time audio drivers and still be able to switch to a youtube video without having to exit all my JACK programs or something.

Do you dudes have any plugins you think are cool? Like boutique pedal clones or something?

Any suggestions on whether or not I should buy a jag-stang at my local shop for $1500? I've looked at them and they seem OK.

cadence has an audio loopback you can turn on that deals with that issue. I think cadence is supported by quite a few distros, too.

no

I guess I won't then. But, I do have some money to burn and I was looking to buy this: shop.fender.com/en-US/electric-guitars/telecaster/2016-limited-edition-american-standard-offset-telecaster-/0171504702.html

Well this seems pretty neat. Any other stuff from KXStudio that you'd recommend?

Also, is there anything that just simulates guitar pedal circuitry? Like putting in just the general schematics of a pedal and having it affect the signal in the same way? I remember Bias Pedal doing a similar thing, but it seemed like it was pretty exclusively "overdrive" focused. I've never made my own pedals before, so I don't really know what would have to be modeled or how hard it would be.

>tfw no qt Darkglass Microtubes B7K plugin gf
;_;

I use a lot of plugins for mixing tasks like various filters, compressors and limiters. Most of my amp simulations are hardware though.

I used to run IRs on my PC but it ended up being better and easier to run them hardware.

Buy a Carvin. You won't regret it.

I'm already planning on getting a 7 string carvin. But I have 3k to spend right now, and I want a nice limited edition fender.

Just learning bass guitar, age sixteen, got a budget for a mid-tier guitar and amp. I've already got the guitar I want sorted out - an Epiphone Les Paul Special 4-String - but i need some recommendations on some cheap, but still functionable amps. anyone?

What kind of hardware do you mean?
I have a Line6 Pod, but I've sort of grown sour towards it after they started releasing paid updates for it.

I wanna get a Fender Tele someday soon but they are heaps expensive.
Should I buy a squier for cheaper or, are squiers absolutely fucked and I should just save money for longer to get the legit Fender??

AxeFX II.

the orange crush bass stuff is good

18+ site though

mmmmmmmm. Delicious envy. I don't think I'd be able to make full use of it though.

boards have regulars, get over.
And you're telling me about some tranny why?

squiers are okay for the price. if this is your first guitar go for a squire. better a not optimal guitar now than waiting. btw are you talking about the american standard or the mexican? because the mexican is a way way better pricepoint and they arent actually that expensive.

I think I'm going to save up for a Mexican Fender Tele. Either that or an Epi LP

I figured it'd be alright for my second guitar, thanks for the advice.

you might also want to try out a squier classic vibes tele. they're only $400 new and people seem to love them.

as someone who had an epi lp i can't recommend it. the pick ups really aren't that good. very muddy. and they are generally a bit uncomfortable to play. mine had a horrible setup aswell which didn't help it. i grew to hate that guitar desu.

i'm trying to plan out how i want to mod my squier mustang (sonic blue). here's what i've got so far:

>route for hh and replace pickguard with pic related
>install set of seymour duncan phat cats (or something comparable that's cheaper)
>replace toggle switches with push/pull pots
>maybe replace tuners with chrome gotohs and the bridge if i have enough money

does this sounds reasonable?

might do regular humbuckers instead idk. i just really like the sound of phat cats from what i've heard.

$200 more and I can buy a Fender tho... I am starting to love the Butterscotch Blonde color tho...

Do you have the Probuckers? If so, that's disappointing

>>>>>>>>ALL THE FUCKIN PROCESSORS ARE POWERED VIA BATTERIES

>tfw we bassplayers will never get our version of this
feels bad guys ;_;

What do you guys think of the Blacktop Stratocaster or just the blacktop series in general?
Got them 2 humbuckers and a single coil in the middle nig

Can someone say some bad things about the Yamaha THR10? I've only heard good things and I don't believe an amp that cheap can be so good.

I can play the an electric guitar straight to a computer without an amp right? How does this work? I'm too poor to buy an amp

you'll need to buy an audio interface because your computer sound card wont be able to handle a guitar.

Tiny speakers.

HEY /GG/
What's a good next guitar for someone who's been playing for a few years now at a decent price? Mostly into playing rock and blues kind of stuff.

Mexican strat.

Would a Rocksmith cable work?

it could, but i don't know that it would sound any good

That's a good point. Anything else? I've been looking to buy it but all reviews I've seen are so positive I feel like they're all shills or something.

I'm a noob, not too concerned about sound right now. I'm guessing any DAW would work?

Can't think of anything else really, great little practice amp.

I currently have
>american deluxe telecaster (ash)
>a white esp ec-1000 with the emg pickups

i'm starting to dislike the active pickups and want another fender. basically, convince me not to get pic related.

the music i make is dream poppy/ jangly/ almost shoegaze, so i want the trem and the pups. i know its a meme

also, do i (we/ my family) sell the esp?? it doesnt get played much since the telecaster came along but it was my first electric and i am attached a bit

Alright thanks, I think I'm going to get in then!

I have a mexican HH jag that ran me around 830 and unless I get a gretch for some jazz I'll never get another guitar again.

I play twinkle daddy and used to do a lot of smiths and cure covers.

It's surprisingly simple to use if you're running AxeEdit. Besides guitar it has some use processing basically anything. I use it in post on videos for instance.

Hi Sup Forums first time posting in a GG thread, no memes please

I've been playing guitar for a little over 6 months now, bought this the other day (Fender Squire telecaster) for £300, was this a good deal?? I'd like to sound like Snowing and other sort of emo bands.

Also, I've been putting aside some cash to buy this amp (richtonemusic.co.uk/products/blackstar_ht-5r_bronco_combo_amplifier.asp), in the sort its another £300 for the cab and head, also worth it???

Finally, any general advice you'd give to someone whos in my position????

sorry i knew i shouldve specified, i want a jazzmaster, same color as pic even. would you recommend jag over mememaster?

*Store

Are Teles versatile enough for the metal?

Sure, if you slap a bridge humbucker in one

Fuck, what other beginner guitars does that leave me with? Strat and LP?

Beginner LP's like Epiphone are garbage, avoid them at all costs. Strats can maybe be used for metal, but you really oughta have a humbucker in the bridge.

What do you personally recommend then? I just want/need a versatile guitar that can play a lot of genres including metal.

Got myself a mexican tele yesterday, it really plays great.
The bsb is the best looking tele-finish by far.

A tele is pretty good, and it's not too hard to install a humbucker into it. I think Jim Root teles have a humbucker already in them, so you can check that out.

I've always liked Explorers, and the Epiphone Explorer is not too bad imo.

Jacksons are very affordable guitars that aren't abhorrent, but I haven't played one in a while so if you check out that brand ask someone else for advice on which to get.

The SG is great too, and while mostly used for metal you can get a lot of great clean tones out of it. I'm not sure how the Epiphone SG sounds however.

Honestly any guitars are good for any genre, in my opinion your sound relies a lot more on your amp and the player rather than the guitar.

Are you the user I responded to? Might lean towards the Epi SG now. Wish I had money to buy two guitars lol

You can actually play metal with a tele, you just need some gain and a compressor.

blue boards arent 18+ user
Recently saw the orange crush bass amp series, seems pretty good for the price, afraid I can't help much more than that fella
Surely second hand teles aren't that expensive, I see a bunch on facebook gear pages for about £400, USA made and all.
Also, have a look into the classic vibe series, theyre very solid for squiers.
dont buy an epiphone unless you're after a hollow body, thats from my personal experience with them. Their solid bodies feel like shit compared to their hollows.
I put gotoh hardware on three of my guitars, two vintage v100s and an epiphone florentine pro, good shit.
I own a thr5 and if you wack the hall reverb all the way up, turn the volume up to 11 and smash about on the bridge pup the amp farts.

They are incredible little bedroom amps, user
did you buy the guitar new? if so then yes thats a reasonable price, if it was second hand you got ripped off.
>nobody ever buys vintage guitars with wilko hardware
£150 + an extra £40 or so for gotoh bits and bobs and its an amazing affordable guitar. Do they not sell this brand in america or some shit?
Cheap ibanez guitars have always felt better quality than cheap jacksons for me personally.
The epi sg I played had a great big phat neck and sounded very thin, whats your budget, user?

>blue boards arent 18+ user
They are. Try reading the site rules sometime

Guy that bought the black tele, it was brand new, cheers for easing my mind, also nice digits user

>delete cache
>open blue board

That and I've never seen anyone get banned for being underaged on a blue board, mate
Yeah its a nice find, honestly one of the reasons I cant ever get a tele as a main guitar is because I love turning down one pickup completely and abusing the toggle switch as a makeshift killswitch. Can't make out the model name from the picture but I would like to look into it, as for the blackstar ht5... well it wouldn't be my first choice after playing one in a store, but if you've watched youtube reviews (make sure they have decent mic setup or theres no point) and you like what you hear then why the fuck not, user?

Bonus points if you can guess what's the guitar being used.

clyp.it/0krnui5q

what do you all think of dingwall basses?
they're really hard to come by where I live but from what I've heard a combustion 5 might fit pretty well for what I'm looking for:
low, fat and mellow longscale sound that fits a hiphop context like that
youtube.com/watch?v=Ylq3BOOf81U

...

Would it work if I put a left handed neck on a right handed guitar? Assuming I cut the nut out correctly?

Like I said user, I've never seen anyone get underage b& on blue boards, wasn't disputing fi it was in the rules or not

the main problem you'll run into is that you'll probably have insane latency. you can use something like asio4all which is an asio driver which works for non asio soundcards. asio drivers are what audio interfaces use to achieve low latency but with the asio4all work around theres a lot of strain on the cpu which will hinder you from achieving both a crackling free sound and low latency. in theory the rocksmith cable works but it will be so shitty that you'd be better of playing the guitar acustically. you can't have latency when playing an instrument, that shit sucks. if you're looking to get an audio interface get the scarlett focusrite 2i4 , some daw and either torrent something like guitar rig 5 pro or use the free lepou plugins with carthasis impulses as amp sim.

I'm kinda pissed now I didn't ask for coil tap switches in my bass from the get go, it was a custom order anyway and that would've probably just added 20-50 bucks maximum...

/good morning/

i wont convince you to not get the mememaster because the guitar is great. especially for the style of music you wanna make. i have a mim strat and ill definitly get a tele and jizzmaster at some point.
