>sold out
You realize people go into music as a career choice, r-right?

with tits like that you would too

With tits like that i would stick to porn

...

...

porn doesn't pay nearly as well

FKA Twigs

>tfw ep1 and ep2 were interesting and experimental, it seemed like Twigs was on to something
>exicitedly await her full length debut
>lp1 ends up being a complete sellout, all the critics praise it

She's also 30, pornstars are over the hill by like 24

sold out tickets to my cum party

What is the problem with artists making money on a product that they spend a lot of their time making?

Are you really so naive that you believe every musician would be content doing it strictly for the "love of music"?

There is nothing wrong with it, but it usually involves the artist giving up their artistic integrity to make something appealing to the masses. But if you aim to 'sell out' from the start, then you can't really question integrity.

her first album was great, but she sold out right after to apeal to the pop audience by getting a shit ton of pop producers and writers. She used to make genuinely good music but she turned into pop shit

How do you know with certainty that her new, albeit more accessible and mainstream sound, isn't her interned artistic expression or "integrity."

I think people misuse or wrongly assign the term 'sell-out' to musicians. As mentioned above, it is a career choice for most - an often thankless career that consumes a lot of their time an effort.

lol

she said mutlible times that it wasn't her idea but her record label wanted her to do it

...

Just because ti wasn't her idea doesn't mean she couldn't make it her own and fuse it with her own artistic expression and aesthetic, which I believe she did.

And it doesn't matter that she gets more money out of it. It is her job, career advancement is a goal many people strive for. Artistic integrity is subjective.

you're wrong mate

Wow great argument fagtron you sure convinced me with those hot opinions

Marina is so cute though, so it doesn't matter

He's right you know, his argument even made me heterosexual, now to ram sum puss

kek

>Just because ti wasn't her idea doesn't mean she couldn't make it her own
yes it does. If something is not your idea it is not your idea. In this case anyway, she's expressed regret about electra heart not being a legit expression

Top kek

Do you find some sort of inexplicable pleasure in critiquing an artist for trying to improve their quality of life even after supplying you with a product that - judging by your knowledge of Marina and the fact that every fucking picture you post is of her - you readily consume willingly?

you don't get it, do you

I get it - she used to make music one way, a record label said, "actually you could make more music doing it this way," she did it that way and is making more money.

I just think the term 'sell-out' has negative connotations and should not be assigned to artists who publicly state their intentions, which as you have pointed out, Marina has.

*more money

her

Marina's newest Album was an "anti sell out" she wrote all the Songs by herself and only had one producer, therefore i win this Argument

>She used to make genuinely good music
[citation needed]

And no, "just listen to it" is not an answer

inb4 critical acclaim and mainstream success don't mean it's good.

Last I heard about her she was getting butthurt about Charlie XCX "stealing" a photoshoot from her (which was actually an ad for perfume). If she sold out she did a bad job of it

youre actually very wrong. porn pays out the ass :)

Are you 15 years old or just an autistic waifu faggot?

Or both?

i'm right

...

>critical acclaim
[citation needed]

Also mainstream success has never == """good""" so kek

Typical poptimist waifufaggot response though

read the link div.

yeah I don't think a popstar who has been on a major label from the start can really "sell out," they're already as corporate as they can get.

Marina's not a popstar, she only had mainstream succes during her "Electra Heart" era(where she sold out) also her record label is a Warner Bros company but not Warner itself and her most recent album didn't even have one top 100 Song

not kekworthy
this thread is full of kekplebs

she makes pop music on a major label. "pop" is not solely shorthand for "popular," hasn't been in a long time en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pop_music

regardless of its current commercial success, pop is *aiming* for eventual commercial success via its extremely broad appeal.

atlantic is a major label.

>therefore I win this Argument

Ironically, that is not how you win an argument - implying the arguments can even be "won"
