Yeah it's breddy gud

pretty much. glad more and more people are discovering this masterpiece.

reported for viral marketing

shit album

reported for shit taste

kill yourself

Fucking magical album. Only discovered it this year and I'm ashamed I didn't listen to it sooner.

Also does anyone know of any bands similar to Sweet Trip?

>not being allowed to say you like something on this site anymore.

Preferably stuff similar to You Will Never Know Why

>viraling a 13 year old album by a dead artist
ayy

>album came out in 2003
>13 years late people like it on an obscure chewed bubblegum comparison bulletin
>viral marketing
O . K .

>viral marketing
>for a band that hasn't done anything in 7 years

(you)

first time i heard this i was really stoned... one of the few times i had to stop listening to an album part way through because i felt like it was too good for me to handle. like i literally couldn't even handle it

bro this happened to me when I listened to confield for the first time on 3 tabs of acid

now that was an experience

Isabel Dream is similar but you'll never find anything like Sweet Trip

They're a pretty unique band

Everything is an experience

If you haven't already done so, check out Sweet Trip's third album, You Will Never Know Why. It's fantastic

dude

It's really not that good

weed lmao

Asking a legit question: can someone explain why people fuck with this album so much? Do people just really like the melodies or are they impressed with the glitch style editing? I guess I'm failing to see why this album is praised as much as it is because I don't find the melodies that well thought out nor is the glitch editing really impressive against other artists that did that style in that time period

I thought I was the only one who actually preferred their third album more than VCD

Which artists? I need to find more music like these guys.

The one artist that immediately comes to mind that does the glitch/indie thing is Dntel, even though musically they sound nothing alike (I prefer Dntel to Sweet Trip desu). But just in terms of glitch editing that was en vogue in the 90's, the Warp Records guys were popularizing that sound

There is NOTHING like that album, a pretty good and unique experience.

for me it's not so much the melodies or the glitchy production that blow me away separately but the way they fused the two, and the way it can go from chaotic and glitchy one minute to dreamy and ethereal the next without feeling too jarring. how they so successfully were able to mix shoegaze/dream pop with glitch, which is a combination i never even realized i wanted. it just seems like such a natural progression from an album like Loveless

I like VDC, but it's a pretty inconsistent album. Can't really listen to the whole thing at once.

>the Warp Records guys were popularizing that sound

It's not about the glitch/IDM. It's about the shoegazey/dreamy aesthetic combined with glitch production.. what other band did that?

Is this actually good? Never listened to it.

Why does this album get so much praise when there are much better vaporwave albums

see

If you like YWNNW more you're into the dream pop sides of things more than the shoegazey or glitch stuff

Start with Beach House, the vocals share that same soft, angel dream theme

miral varketing, that's what

that's literally what I was replying to and trying to rebut

lo fi glitch/pop/shoegaze stuff with very girly vocals. some of the stuff is pretty tight

Then listen to it ya numbskull

And I replied Dntel...

Dude, why are you so angry over Sweet Trip? This album has only been popping up over the past month or so, after an user recced it in a feel thread.
It's also old. Is there some other band you feel deserves attention?

You're new, hombre. Album has been rec'd for literally years

A good effort, but not as good as The Swans' To Be Kind!

Hahahaha how fucking new are you

This album has been discussed on Sup Forums for fucking years

You virin'?

yeah I guess there's a misunderstanding.. you said that
>nor is the glitch editing really impressive against other artists that did that style in that time period
which like completely misses the point, sweet trip is not interesting because of the glitch thing, it's interesting because of the dream pop thing, combined with glitch.

dntel has nothing to do with dream pop

Newfag

It's okay

>This album has only been popping up over the past month or so,
what

Yeah, "recent" af, I swear to god I found it on Sup Forums 6 years ago

;_; I don't spend all my time here guise

>dntel has nothing to do with dream pop
Sounds like you're mistaken bruh bruh. Listen to Life Is Full Of Possibilities again, or for the first time if you haven't already

too bad you'll never be rad

It's okay just stop talking shit about Sweet Trip

I love Sweet Trip

Three years on and off for nothing.

I'm not talking shit. I love this album too. Even if I just found out about it.

I also fail to see how a dedicated thread is viral marketing. Besides if it brings them out of hiatus then good.

Better album by them coming through.

Forgot the To Be Kind album art!

I think "Dots and Loops" era Stereolab is the most similar thing ive heard

I'd die if they announced they were recording again

>Life Is Full Of Possibilities
but VDC is actually good
Jelly charm is so good

Pretty sure the dude works a desk job now, so I doubt it's going to happen.

Then don't act like you know what goes on here tbqh stepfam

>desk job
aesthetic as fucc, he should make vaporwave

this

Okay, dad.

>but VDC is actually good

>Sweet Trip vaporwave LP

I would also be fine with this

sums it up quite nicely

Or you can keep getting verbally bitchslapped for your retardation, your call

I never noticed until I saw the cover in a higher size that the squares are actually a crop of habitat 67

Nice catch user

Dedicated to Chocolate Matter to To All The Dancers is the best streak in the album.

Kek. Attention is attention. You could also not take moo so seriously. Though I was in the wrong here.

Nobody is taking Sup Forums seriously but you

You said something that was wrong, people pointed out that you're wrong

Here you are still trying to defend yourself about it on an anonymous image board as if it matters or anyone cares

Yeah.

because its not a shoegaze album

Uh, glitchy computer shoegaze. . :
Pluramon - Dreams Top Rock

holy fuck cant unsee

hey man i'll check out dntel, thanks for posting it

dead artist?

It's b8

None of them are dead

Here's your (You)

It took me way longer than it should have to really appreciate this. Like I had listened to it some years ago when it first started getting posted a lot here and thought it was good-but-not-great, but this year it really clicked and I love all of it outside of like one song. Only complaint is that it's a bit too long.
Some of School of Seven Bells early stuff kinda sounds similar.

I would agree with . Their album before VDC was mostly just glitch stuff and I wasn't a big fan of it, in fact I didn't really like it at all, but moments where VDC just switches from glitchy pop to shoegaze like in Fruitcake and Cookies or To All the Dancers... end up being really cathartic to listen to. It's cool that they don't necessarily try and meld glitch and shoegaze together for the most part, they just put the two next to each other and let the contrasts enhance it. Some people have also speculated that it's some sort of concept album about a romance between a human and a computer or a computer trying to create some type of paradise and the glitches are the computer loading but that's all just conjecture.
"No."
He just means dead as in completely inactive.

Also for anyone who hasn't listened yet, it's not shoegaze but World's End Girlfriend does a great job mixing elements of glitch with modern classical and post-rock, it doesn't sound much like VDC but it gives me some similar vibes.
