...

>metallic guitar tones

What are you on about, OP? Any horn or brass instrument is an instant turnoff.

Mmm
Got any decent examples?

>A gradual tempo slow down
>key change into major

sudden full stop silence as tension

>Any horn or brass instrument is an instant turnoff.
It isn't

>Any horn or brass instrument is an instant turnoff.
You must have shit taste

>vocal harmony

>Turntablism
Wheelz of Steel
Paid in Full
>Chopped up vocals
Lord of the Game
This is Violence Now
Niggas on the Moon
There's more but I've been listening to DG a lot and don't have good memory

This is the best, honestly.
When singers do that growl noise thing in their throat like "rrrr". Don't know the word for it.

>twing-twang music that conveys a sense of bristling kinetic-intensity whilst maintaining space in the sound that invites more energy

>Marching Drum

Ed O'Brien backing vocals.

Counterpoint

>guitar noise, feedback, fuzz and effect pedal textures
>bass is audible and has an actual role instead of being used like a fucking drum
>motorik beats
>taking really left field shit and making it accessible by doing something groovy at the same time
>vocals intentionally peak
>ambience
>seamless transitions

Nah, it's just way too fucking bombastic and forceful for its own good. I don't deny that you can use these instruments successfully, but it almost always comes off as tacky for me.

Hi will

two drummers

The crescendo always get me off, when more and more instruments come in, the rythm gets faster, the sound louder and the final release when everything explodes, I love it.

two examples off the top of my head:
from 14:30 in youtube.com/watch?v=Vm0VBWnUhvU
from 5:40 in youtube.com/watch?v=DKftiJS30Cs

serene vocal harmonies over discordant electronic instrumentation gets me fucking erect tbqh

Who is Will?

I love when that happens with Cake. Got a trumpet couple weeks ago
if you can't into jazz you are hopeless, maybe you can enjoy the equally complex metal, or math rock!

>on It's Working, when the backup vocals go "it's working in your blood"

The harmony is so strong that I almost blow my load.

Really fat, fuzzy bass guitar sound.

Hnnnng

That one George Michael song

Then you most love the original mix of Foreigner - Long Way Home
>Based Ian McDonald

end of the ring wars has some amazing songs like this

Bass solo into guitar solo. Skip to 2:15

Then listen to this thicc ass flutter tounge by none other than Dexter Gordon
youtu.be/NN6li_-aGnA?t=5m12s

Yelling, fuck I love when Avey or panda yell. I fucking love it so much.

kicks in @ around 5:10 btw but listen to the whole thing as foreplay

Damn. Any example?

>when the trumpet comes in on a neofolk / martial industrial song

please please give me more

>switching between hi-fi and lo-fi vocal recordings in a song

Multiple grating rhythmic textures

fuck yea

>Martial drums following an overdriven guitar

this
hnnnnnggggggggggg

2:23 for the lo-fi vocals
youtube.com/watch?v=9aHJdeaAgO8

praise satan trips

syncopated rhythm with a very short catchy soul moving melody.

very specific i know.

examples, pls Satan

But the best kind of math rock has jazz influences and brass instrumentation you double nigger

youtube.com/watch?v=DLuNxIp6z0w

it's dg but first thing that came to mind

>sudden guitar solo

>synths that sound like farts

Would "Wish You Were Here" be an example of this?

I always thought this was lame as fuck

What's the Modest Mouse song that uses a similar effect to this?

>0:53 when the bass falls in. but the best part: 2:47. and then the drop that continues to rise for almost half the part of the song. this song is my absofuckinglute top favourite song ever.
Arkasia - Pandemonium
youtube.com/watch?v=bw_GhedOX70&ab_channel=MrSuicideSheep

youtube.com/watch?v=khlLc7NNOok&ab_channel=MaxCooper
