I'm looking for a certain type of music that produces a feeling of floating or weightlessness. It's kind of hard to describe, but it usually features minimal percussion, heavily reverbed vocals, and generally just a very dreamy style.
Floating into the night is 10/10 album. As a huge Julee Cruise fan I found Marissa Nadler's Strangers "somehow" similar to the 60s dreamy sound Julee Cruise and Badalamenti have. youtu.be/hBzjxg960s8?list=PLxKHVMqMZqUSwMITNUyhdzdHL79nwBFdP It's hard to find similar to Julee Cruise though.
Juan Brooks
Every song on this album gives me that feeling
Joseph Miller
Maybe L$D by ASAP Rocky? It gives me the feeling your describing.
Jayden Hill
Yeah I still need to listen to that
This is good but it's not quite doing it for me. Vocals are a main part of what gives it that feeling so instrumental stuff doesn't work as well.
I need to give the rest of Julee Cruise's music another listen. Never knew Slapp Happy had stuff like this. This is definitely close.
Ah yes this is great I'm gonna add it to the list.
Aw man I totally forgot about this album this is perfect you're right.
David Mitchell
You're totally right I forgot about that track as well.
Carter Brooks
Here you go my dude
Gabriel Cox
Try this, the second half especially. It's kind of ambient-ish but it's not far from accessible.
There's a couple other Slapp Happy songs like that but I'm blanking on the names, haven't listened to them in awhile. Here's some other stuff m.youtube.com/watch?v=JWAIEqGYZvI
try the second side of Eno's Apollo, especially the song Weightless
Brayden Long
OP you are literally just describing dream pop.
Pretty much all of dream pop.
Ian Moore
This album is probably my AOTY, my fav tracks are Into the Night, Falling and Blue Frank: Pink Room
Not OP, but I liked your suggestions, a lot of good stuff I didn't know
Owen Nguyen
Aw these are great, especially Andy Stott, Chelsea Wolfe and Tasseomancy.
I think Bjork has a track or two that will work, but perhaps not that one.
Almost all of these work, thanks!
I know that's what it sounds like, but I've listened to a lot of dream pop and only a few tracks really give me that feeling. It's a specific type of dream pop I'm looking for it's hard to describe.
Fitting name it sounds pretty close to what I'm looking for.
Hudson Butler
This is a great thread. I don't have much to recommend since it's all been posted, but if you haven't, listen to Julia Holter's earlier stuff. It's even more similar to what you're looking for.

Those songs are fucking great, part of my favourites. Other songs I can recommend:
Washed Out - Weightless Brain Eno - Weightless
(not the same song, and they do represent the title although very different on their own, also take a look at this youtube.com/watch?v=nmd4GLg-hwE).
