I'm moving to Crystal Palace

trap

Classical and top 40
I live in the middle of bumfuck nowhere

I know nothing about my area's music scene other than death grips is from here and a few other cool artists I can't think of at the moment

lots of hip hoppers

just like every other major city in america

Pretty shit the only "local" band i've seen is a Morrissey tribute band.

...

lndmmml.bandcamp.com/
this is the first local band i ever really dug.
there's a pretty good punk/noise rock/weird pop scene here, though most of the old guard has left for greener pastures.

Syracuse, NY, all shitty hardcore and beatdown

cool punk, noise and rock bands and great small venues

my hometown's music scene is basically just phil elverum

I go to this one 'underground' place in my city where they have a lot of basically performance art and music. This one guy who plays there like every two weeks did a show where he replaced the keys on a keyboard with razors and cut his hands up while playing out a piece. this other group does a hardcore punk, but they dress in extravagant drag.
Pretty neat stuff desu.

Pretty cool band

Sauce?

>Live in a small city in upstate NY, (315, not Syracuse tho)
>metalcore, Eagles and 80's glam rock cover bands, jazz fusion bands, few kids with acoustic guitars.
>Probably only a handful of music events a year

It's a sad and dead scene man. I'm hoping to move out to the west cost next summer.

We only have edge kids playing melodic hardcore over here and occasionally bossa nova groups

punk in drag isnt that crazy

theres quite a few queer bands in my scene

Yep, nothing worse than going on craigslist and seeing ads put out by 16 year olds that want to play hardcore and 40+ year olds that wanna either do butt rock or 60-80's cover music.

lots of hipster kids are moving here now so i guess it makes sense that the music scene is pretty good

as far as major-ish stuff goin on we have Danny Brown, Protomartyr, Jamaican Queens, and a lot of really good bar bands

a couple friends of mine have made some legit genius bedroom albums, too

but then again Kid Rock is from here so maybe we can chalk it up to a loss

i don't go outside, but i've heard about some math rock/shoegaze bands so it has it be okay i guess.

You probably should move user

Is the hardcore band G.L.O.S.S.?

Utica? Auburn? Syracuse sucks just as much man. I hear Buffalo is doing pretty well in terms of music

Enfield, NH. Although I don't think any of them have released anything.
Yeah, I guess. The way they act is weird though. It's a trio, and they don't talk to anyone. Just play their set then run off. And I am pretty sure they are straight.

There's a noise scene in Dayton Ohio that no one knows about besides me and a few record store employees

Austin, Tx AOTYSF 2016
1. Cross Record - Wabi Sabi

2. Carrie Rodriguez - Lola

Unreleased track recorded live 2/21/26 for Safehouse Sessions Vol.2

>Columbus OH
There's a lot going on tbqh

>
>I am pretty sure they're straight
This isn't that uncommon. I played a show a couple weeks ago and one of the bands we played with dressed in drag and I know for a fact they aren't gay. Think it's more a of a lel were wearing dresses type thing

stop lettign everyone know that ohio has good music

its one of the best hidden facts in the world

thanks for the share, this stuff is feeds my Black Eyes cravings

We've got too much white reggae/jam band /bluegrass shit here, but there's a DIY scene that has a little of everything from noise/experimental shit to heavy psych to freak folk to hip hop. There's always something to do even as a small town due to the fact we're in between two major touring cities.

You people are a shame, most major city have underground shows. Your craiglist posting doesnt represent your music scene; only washed out looser and desperate loners post on craiglist.

that said there a lot of drone\noise , queer\feminist- punk\hardcore, Post-punk revival, psych\garage, post, metal ( black, doom, prog, core...), experimental and classical.

i do not follow the electronic music scene, so I cant speak or that.

guess my city :)

I live in a town whose music scene used to just be good, well-written folk, shitty, coffee-shop folk, and wannabe-country singers. It's now full of a bunch of indie fags that pretend they know a lot about music because a no-name from the city won a Grammy a few years back and got some feature by a high-profile hip-hop artist. We have four music festivals, two shitty country ones, a shitty buttrock one, and a new indie one that I haven't been to yet.

My favorite band from my city m.youtube.com/watch?v=bP0u44NZ5Lc

whatever shithole Grimes is from

wow, how did you know that but not the name of the city.

Maputo - Moçambique

Because your hockey team is complete ass

This is absolutely garbage m8

I know.

But if your city is predominantly one type of music, or even a select few, it is incredibly difficult to book shows that are genres opposing to it. Most promoters wont book you unless they think they will make a profit and you end up playing some shit hole in the wall to the other bands that are there and one dudes mom.

My city only has a strong gospel scene

My hockey team was good until they dropped 14 games straight. What team is that?

I live in a city full of college kids that are into meme rap

Even smaller, Oswego. And yeah Buffalo seems to be the place to be. But I hate New York in general.

buenos aires, argentina. i mostly dislike it; a shitload of generic indie projects that all sound the same. you got some good bands every now and then tho, but it's hard to find them

Synths and reverb for the most part

>Auckland, New Zealand

Generic kiddy indie bands and rich kids in Devonport producing music at home with a bad aesthetic

loads of metal and ug hip hop, some electronic acts, loads of dad rock from the 1970s still active

i live in a small indiana town.
teen soundcloud rappers, indie folk hipsters, metal edge kids

This is what I thought it was but I'm wasn't sure because I don't go outside. Anyone know what wellington's like?

gay kiss gatecreeper destruction unit and other ascetic house stuff other decent punk bands and a huge sea of bull shit

hey fellow kitchenerite

Haha OP complaining about Tame Impala wannabes, like 40% of the Perth music scene consists of Impala copies
There's also some pretty decent punk, garage and psychpunk bands, some pretty good ambient, drone and lofi house electronic acts coming out at the moment

Mine consists of faggy post grunge bands
shit metal bands and shit folk bands. Mac Demarco was he only good thing to come out of here.

I live in a big city in Mexico, the music scene consist only on bands playing indie music basically a 2006 sound. It's disappointing being a experimental musician here

North side is full of edgy thrasher rock and general post hardcore Down south you'll find experimental soundclouds and lots of trap and 90s rap

weirdcanada.com/
click on the map on the right and click on yr province

hipster faggots in melbourne

would 90 % do DW

extreme metal and whiny indie rock. and a surprisingly strong reggae scene made up of entirely white people.

australia or florida?

Gothenburg here. Mostly metal but I think there is also clear trend towards more psychadelic and a less harsh sound, mostly due to the rise of popularity of weed.

>Lille, France

>Garbage hard rock, cool little rock bands with an original sound, some meme rappers from the nearest ghetto
