yea i didn't forget -

*looks at filename*

mark hollis

why aren't you making more music you stupid fucking cock

what could he even be doing now
was the Talk Talk money really enough to retire on?

could never forget paul weller

...

i hope he never makes more music, keeps his discography pristine

come back, mark. release another album. or even just do one interview. i would be so happy

He stopped because he wanted to raise his kids, didn't he? They must almost be adults now, so you never know, he might make a comeback sooner or later.

He had a comeback and made a movie soundtrack but they ignored it and it was unreleased except for one song which was used on a tv show.

He also has loads of unreleased material.

>do one more interview

>Vox magazine’s Betty Clarke quoted Hollis around Laughing Stock as saying “If you understand it, you do, if you don't, nothing I say will make you understand it. The only thing I can do by talking about it is detract from it. I can't add anything. Can I go home now, then?"

Heh it's a shame

Extremely successful in Europe + Royalties from the No Doubt version of the song. He also doesn't care about living in expensive houses or driving fast cars.

Here's the last known photo of Hollis. He dresses like a middle class working dad and I can imagine he lives the same way.

DUDE MYSTERIOUS GENIUS LMAO

He does live the same way. He lives quietly in the countryside with his family. He's been working on some music in private but probably just for fun, the only thing that's come out since is a 2 minute track for the closing titles of a US drama series.

Seemed like Allan Holdsworth for a moment... Sadly, it's not him.

He least released this little oddity 4 years ago

I remember people were hoping it would be a teaser for a future album but I guess not.

thanks user
i can't stop laughing

>I FEEL LIKE I'M IN THE PINK FLOYD

What series is everyone talking about?

imdb.com/title/tt1833285/

Boss, a short lived drama on US cable tv. I'm not sure how Hollis got involved.

See He released a small piece of music to be on the closing titles of a show called Boss.

Thanks guys! I'll look up the song when I get to work.

this article explains it

I think that if Mark were to release something again, he would be tasteful about it and not ruin his legacy. It probably wouldn't be on the same tier as Laughing Stock, Spirit of Eden, or S/T, but it would probably be pretty great.

Sounds like a midi talk talk/these new puritans.

I think it would be pretty great but I'm sure many will disagree because of the huge gap. Have there ever been any artists that have had a massive gap and come back with something better than all their previous work?

Portishead's Third is arguably better than their legendary first two albums

Swans reformed after like 15 years with probably the best work of their career (however Michael Gira was still making music with Angels of Light during that time)

lol dummy is a classic. I don´t think third is better really.
