ITT: Lets cut the BS. Favorite Albums of all Time! Go!

Post charts, lists or critique one another on our shitty tastes

This is straddling the line between pre-patrician and solid pleb. Still a cool list user

>tpab top 4
zozzle
but props on the marvin gaye
heres a chart i made a while ago

damn that new avalanches album must've made one hell of an impression on ya to have climbed up so fast
You got lots of cool stuff there btw, digging The Roots, Faust, AMT and a bunch of others. Check out l'enfant assassin des mouches by Jean-Claude Vannier and Condor by Rovo

>lulu
true patrician

Yeah, i love me some TPAB

but damn you're into Ween, I'm a fan but damn thats a lot of Ween

>Os Mutantes
nice
I like all the Ween

critique me

...

check out Kurt Weill's Dreigroschenoper. make sure Lotte Lenya is singing on it tho

here

you have pure guava so i like you
solid

Thanks dude, yeah Wildflower just gets me feeling some type of way. I have never smiled so much through an album.

I've been meaning to check out Grant Green and Robert Ashley . Are those good starting points for their discogs?

Idle Moments is a great album to start with Green with yeah. Private Parts is pretty unique within Ashley's discog but I'd recomment it as a starting point anyway because it is the best thing in the history of existence to me
have you listened to Hawaii: Part II? because that album makes me feel the same way you described Wildflower doing.

bretty cool taste
what's your preferred method of smoking weed

had to add 3 filler bc topsters didn't have (mxlx- at time temple) (two boys alright- hazy realms) (relaxer- lasers)

i used to have a bong

miss me yet ?

this one is limited to one album per artist so its not too accurate but it represents my 'taste' better

how do i 'get' lulu?

wew cardiacs and slowdive
this heat, kate bush, meme naples is great, as well as most of the popular mu/scaruffi stuff

idk i guess its ok

Have you ever listened to Gas - Pop? I think you would enjoy it.
Good taste, what did you think of elseq?

Yay another Pure Guava in top ten!

Haven't listened to all of it yet, but holy shit elyc6 0nset is one of the best things I've heard this year

read up on Frank Wedekind and gain an appreciation for slopped-up minimalist butt jams

Pretty solid chart. I haven't heard half of those albums, but what I have heard I like.

+1 for Francoise Hardy and Rilo Kiley, even though I prefer Take Offs and Landings

Would you say A Promise is the best album for getting into Xiu Xiu? They have like 40 albums and it's kind of overwhelming but that one gets brought up a lot on Sup Forums

>His work, which often criticizes bourgeois attitudes
yeah im interested

i should probably read something that isnt the wikipedia article tho. got anything good?

>They have like 40 albums
actually 20, but like half of that is garbage from jamie's bandcamp phase

a promise is not the best entry point. it was mine, and i sort of ended up listening to sad pony guerrilla girl for months and nothing else, until giving it a couple more tries to finally enjoy the whole thing.

i recommend you go with fabulous muscles first, it's the same style but more accessible and p4k approved

what I read on him came from my uni database, to which I no longer have access atm, so I'm a bit at a loss at what to rec. The two Lulu plays are fascinating though and I would recommend

sun ra prolly

mad respect that fela pick. try william onyeabor

unwound - new plastic ideas

yuppies - s/t

flipper - generic flipper

idk what to rec so listen to the kinks

pretty cool taste, eskimo and sun ra are great

whats so good about king krule, its popped up a lot but i havent listened to it

What's that The Ecstasy of Saint Theresa album sound like? I like the cover art.

90s shoegaze with a good name brah

insult o'rourke and titus andronicus all you want but saying meat is murder is the worst smiths is fucking degeneracy

do your worst

>literally 42 Sup Forums-core albums

Does it make you sad to think you wasted a precious handful of moments in your life making this collage of shit?

>childish gambino
>tyler the creator
>kid cudi
>vampire weekend
> the xx and jamie xx
>oracular spectacular
you have no right to laugh at others' lists when you have the shittiest list here.

Not too shabby, good to see Alvvays getting some love.

at least i don't pretend to like """experimental"" music to look cool online

No i haven't listened to that, but i've listened to "The High Llamas - Hawaii" which has some neo -psych beach boys sound to it.

Will check out tho!

>whats so good about king krule
i personally am only in love with his self titled ep, everything else i find uninteresting for some reason. when he was starting out, i heard people on here describe him as 'the next joy division' and frankly that's as good as i can describe him. he's not a JD clone, far from it, he has his own bluesy, sort of "awful, out of tone pitch" some people say, but i love it. his debut got ruined by the label's over production, so if you want the real, singer/songwriter dreamy indie pop version of Krule, his self titled is where it's at.

his voice is so powerfully bassy for his age at the time, it's incredible and worth hearing.

>4 radiohead albums, 4 anco albums,4 kanye albums, both bon iver albums, tyler the creator, the beatles, muse, frank ocean
all of the "haha" you wrote x20
you make fun of meme indie and neo psych but your chart has plenty of it

you also made fun of mbdtf for being top 5 when you have it on the 6th spot? is it just not good enough for top 5 but good enough for top 10? or are you this bad at baiting?

it's like the guy above you's chart but way less bad

how the fuck is kid cudi bad?

Nice chart
Rachel's
Magazine

>ALL THAT MEME INDIE AND NEO PSYCH
There are exactly four albums in that chart that would qualify as either indie or neo psych you dunce.

I know you're thirsty for the (You) which is why I didn't even tag you in this post. You sad sad troll man.

>Ke$ha

Bold statement to make on Sup Forums, kiddo

speedin bullet 2 heaven aside, cudi is shallow music for teenagers that think they're depressed

ill give you everyone on that list but Vampire Weekend and the xx (jamie xx too) arent bad at all especially compared to the rest

Youth Lagoon - Wondrous Bughouse

...

Shout out to TV Girl, that album was straight fire.

...

you must really like LSD and the Search for God.

Have you listened to David Baker's solo album World? It's under the name Shady and is more of that noisy crazy Mercury Rev goodness. Also check out See You On the Other Side if you haven't yet. it's really really good, but different.

also listen to pinkshinyultrablast by Astrobrite. It's like Medicine but better. Also Flying Saucer Attack if you haven't yet.

Where is you're chart anyway?

...

Oh, aren't you so cool with your artists without Wikipedia pages. How underground.

I'm pretty sure all those guys are on wikipedia.

Google Coultrain.

I stand corrected. 9 out of 10 is still pretty good, though.

Close but you can't Have a Cigar.

Point is, anyone with Scott Walker, Kate Bush, Miles Davis and D'Angelo on their list isn't trying to score obscurity points.

go away thomasstc

I never know what to rec people in these threads. Feel free to tell me how shit my taste is.

I'm really not big on about a quarter of that stuff but the rest I like.

I like your taste quite a bit, user.

>I like your taste quite a bit, user.

Thanks! Any recs? Which albums caught your eye? Also, I realize now that most people put album information on the side.. oops. I'll do that when this thread rolls around again.

>Which albums caught your eye?
Harmlessness

Allelujah! Don't Bend! Ascend!
Animals As Leaders
No World For Tomorrow
Run the Jewels

>Any recs?
