thoughts and opinions on mg30cfx?
Jose Fisher
>trying to find ugly guitars say no more, senpai
Grayson Flores
Opinions on the PEAVEY ValveKing II 50 and PEAVEY 6505+112? im trying to choose between those because of their features, price and the sound ive heard through multiple videos, does anyone have an idea which one responds to lower frequencies better? ill be playing more stoner rock/stoner metal if that means anything other than you being able to poke fun at me
Austin Gray
should i get an orange or marshall for $200 range combo amp?
Ryan Robinson
forgot to mention im unable to test those out in real life due to the store providing them through the internet and not in my area, i was looking at an orange amp but the one i wanted was expensive as hell and you guys said that their current transformers are not very good
Owen Perry
>a donkey
I like this desu
Luke Jenkins
Peavy Windsor with an orange 4x12 is purdy cheap and good for stoner rock if can pick up a okay fuzz or overdrive pedal
Jeremiah Jenkins
From what I know, 6505 all the way. But haven't played them myself.
Tell us your budget and what you need in an amp and what style of music you're looking to play.
Luke Thompson
i've set a soft budget of ~$200-300. i like the metallica thrash sound so being able to do that's a must, but other than that i play a variety like green day, nirvana, lots of stuff. i'm using an esp ltd ex50 with humbucker pickups i believe. dont really know a bunch about that stuff. ideally i'd like something i could use at small venues in the future too
Benjamin Reed
Link me to your local craigs list.
Luke Walker
what does this mean? the whole parallel connected thing. I know how the switch works.
It means the humbucker will act as 2 single coil pickups
Michael Brooks
Humbuckers wired in series give you the fat, higher-ouput tone most people think of. Wired in parallel, it's brighter and less output. Sounds more like a singlecoil pickup
Jace Martin
it means the humbucker will act as 2 single coil pickups
what do you guys think of using a bass amp and a guitar amp if you're a guitarist in a 2 piece band?
Levi Foster
Do it
Isaac Nelson
marshall code 25 is 200 bucks, idk about orange
Kayden Sanders
what site is this?
Mason Murphy
i'm using my drummer's fender rumble 500 and a modded fender blues jr through custom 4x12 cab. i have an rv-5 putting out a bit of reverb with one output going into the bass amp and the other into my guitar pedals/amp. it sounds pretty nice i just haven't heard much about people doing it.
Noah Russell
Hey guys, looking for a classical guitar with 7 strings, the extra string being on the low end, a bass string to expand the range to play some low end cello works. Pic related.
Any idea where to look? Obvious places have been checked to no avail. Literally might have to contact the luthier guild but money money money.
Chase Morales
it's the ibanez website, I had to crop sides to fit the image size limit. posting on mobile :/
Colton Robinson
bought this bass at a pawn shop for $60
buying a badass bridge, quarter pounder pickups, and new pots and such. but i'm at a loss when it comes to the physical appreance. i'm going to refinish the headstock and make my own overlay. but for the body i was thinking maybe TV yellow with a black pickguard or gold with a black pickguard. or maybe just redoing it with a surfy blue/green/pink.
Blake Cruz
I have been playing bass for like 4 years, I feel like I have stagnated or fallen into a rut. I love bass, but I fell like a worthless piece of shit when I think that I coulda just practiced guitar. How do I stave off suicide?
Nolan Jenkins
It's too late. Rip in pepperoni user. ;_; Joking aside, it's never too late to pick something up. Whatever you learned by playing bass might help you when picking up guitar. Just do it.
Josiah Martinez
Calm down. I played bass for 2 years before I switched to guitar. Bass actually gave me a great base for finger strength/endurance and it wasn't hard learning the 2 extra strings.
Jayden Murphy
If it sounds nice, go for it. Its not talked about much because its iffy. It comes down to whether or not the equipment is right for one another....
Joshua Kelly
I will begin the guitar memes tomorrow, what do you think I should start practicing?
Evan Howard
In the Aeroplane Over the Sea was the first song I learned. If you're up for a challenge try Mood For a Day.
Asher Rogers
Thanks man, maybe the pussy will flow after another 4 years.
I was thinking about getting this because I like the SG shape, White/Tort combo and I don't mind the 1 pickup but how good are SD invaders? And is it a good idea to have only a volume knob?
Might want to invest in a better amp somewhere along the road, but it's a good beginner amp. What type of music do you play?
Jace Cox
I traded it on craigslist for a shitty broke squier bass I like oldies and blues, Like blue oyster cult, all the way to BB King. Just got the amp yesterday sounds awsome
Benjamin Ward
what are some good review channels? rob chapman isnt doing it for me anymore (especially after the cab clone debacle, anyone got a link to the original video btw?)
Ethan Williams
An invader in the bridge like that might run a little muddy. Since the electronics are clearly mounted to the pickguard, mods would be trivial and you could add a tone circuit if you wanted.
As it stands, the muddiness of the invader (and of an SG's scale length) make it so that forgoing the tone knob is fairly sensible. I'd say that guitar is solidly worth what they're asking.
Dominic Roberts
>non-intonatable bridge
Aiden Torres
I don't know if it's still made or not, but I sure as hell can find the ibanez G207CWCNT online new. Ortega also has two 8 string models I really wouldn't spend money on a no name chink acoustic though, too much stuff that can go wrong.
>I traded it on craigslist for a shitty broke squier bass damn, good job there
Jason Long
I know man, neck had a crack, missing tuners, knobs were about to fall off and no back plate. They liked to work on basses and had this Frankenstrat around so we traded.
Austin Perry
>tfw I want it so bad but I can't justify dropping $800 on a 2x12 cabinet
Luke Sanders
Why is it that the bassists have the biggest egos right after the Singer?
Jackson Torres
ive been using biasfx and i kind of like the marshall jcm 800 sim in there coupled with what they call a "tube boost" in front. the sound i have is relatively clean but it has this nice top end sparkle when the amp is just about to go into very slight overdrive. now my question is, the way i understand it the booster just makes my signal louder (but in a clean way without adding distortion, fuzz or whatever) and then obviously depending on the gain setting on the amp it might be enough drive to overdrive it. but shouldn't this be the same thing as just turning the gain knob on my amp up without the booster in front? i mean sure the booster probably adds a little bit of its own coloration, but i tried and the differncet it quite drastic.
Anthony Sanchez
>using a tone knob >ever
Joseph Kelly
Not everyone plays metal, user
Zachary Barnes
tone knob all the way down is instant doom metal though, it's cool
Josiah Cooper
Stratocaster in general. It's the guitar equivalent to beige.
Lucas Hall
is the squier vintage modified strat a good guitar if I don't want to spend very much money?
Ian Barnes
it isnt terrible but just save up a grand and buy a moon strat off ebay. you will just end up instantly wanting the non substitute version dude
Ryder Rogers
I'm thinking about buying the J Mascis Jazzmaster (Squier) and then upgrading it. I'm looking at getting a staytrem bridge and an american vintage tremolo system (which is pretty expensive in the UK). I will want to upgrade the pickups in the future and was just thinking about going for the 65' fender pickups, or are there any better recommendations.
Hudson Robinson
Start playing that stuff and you'll immediately start growing a pussy.
Colton Barnes
where? if it's somewhere convenient like the back of my hand i won't mind
Elijah Thompson
should i? i just got my last paycheck and i won't be working for another 2 years unless i get a paid internship next summer. $6,500 in savings, living with mom currently and dad's paying for gas and groceries but idk if it'll last. this will be the last guitar thing i buy for another 2 years if i buy it. currently have a $60 amp
Brandon Nguyen
save up for supercooled strings
William King
Orange amps are pretty much james stacks into cathodynes. There are a lot of old PAs that use the same setup.
Oliver Hall
you're joking
Charles Thomas
MG's are garbage, don't waste your money.
Isaiah Gray
literally just bought it
Jose Bell
cancel while you can, because you made a serious mistake there
Connor Mitchell
I tried some bass speakers. Didn't like them as much. but yeah, extra amps is always fun
Jack Butler
if you reccommend me another amp in a comparable price range i will, but i can't keep playing on this current amp and the demo sounded decent. user recommended me get a $400 one off craigslist but i don't feel right spending that much money on one when i don't have any income
Blake Allen
Buy an interface and then just pirate Bias.
Cameron Martin
all you're ever going to find new in that price range are useless practice amps. but hey if you want to mic up a 10" speaker and end up with absolutely no bass in your sound, that's none of my problem
James Russell
already have an interface, i just don't like the idea of being unable to recreate the music i make live
Cameron Thomas
Looks sexy though
Luke Ramirez
sorry for the late reply i was at work wonder if anyone in my area has those second hand or something, thanks for the suggestion guys
thanks that seems to be the general thought people have, it sounds good but lacks a few features the valve king series has, though it still has the simulated mic output which i like
Zachary White
how do i run one amp into another?
Luis Sullivan
Anyone tried this bad boy yet?
Daniel Lewis
you can get better shit than that used for far less
don't do it
Henry James
Y-cable, a/b box, or patch them with the extra parallel inputs
Jace Watson
why is it so hot I'm melting and my guitar's neck is dying
Kayden Fisher
$200 for a shitty 30W transistor combo? you can find good used amps in that price range man
Julian Martin
>YOU WANT PRAY GUITAR? >FIRST YOU MUST CORRECT THE 9 SACRED RUNES
Levi Sanders
i already cancelled the order a while ago, but i don't know enough about amps to not get ripped off buying something used. will probably just go to the guitar center and get ripped off there
Nathan Adams
NO. It's JAZZ METAL
Isaac Edwards
>especially after the cab clone debacle tell me more
Christian Reed
the secret to stop getting ripped off and start knowing shit is to do your research
Dominic Lewis
I can't handle it either bro
Josiah Cruz
Saving up for this bad motherfucker right here. I've always like their guitars, something about them makes you want to pick it up and play it immediately.
John Ortiz
Probably a stupid question, but I just find this confusing. So I am learning this acoustic song by tab, and I noticed this. It says 0 on the 6th string, and 2 on the 4 string. I am supposed to be playing both at the same time, right? But how am I supposed to do that, without touching the 5th fret? Does this mean it's only possible to play it with fingers?
Samuel Green
what, research about every single amp? idk how i would've known that the mg30cfx was shit when all the amazon reviews were positive and i read articles saying 30 watts is giggable for rock at small venues
Hudson White
mute the middle string if the song requires you strum. otherwise yeah just pick it with your fingers
