Why did it take so long for people to start pitch-shifting repeated vocal samples to make melodies? Why didn't people use similar techniques to Crystal Castles or Blank Banshee in the 80s if they had the technology to? Why has it only recently become a trend? Or am I completely wrong about this? Post some early examples of similar stuff if you know any.
