America
Best Siege of Alamo
Worst Battle of Kiska

inb4 we lost Alamo, fuck you, the true American patriotism and heroism of the battle won us the war single handed.

Samar isn't so impressive as it's said in the "courageous Taffy3" story, because the Japanese fleets had already lost air cover at that point. Midway is really gg though.

IN THE SOUTHERN PART OF TEXAS NEAR THE TOWN OF SAN ANTON
LIES A FORTRESS ALL IN RUIN THAT THE WEEDS HAVE OVERGROWN
YOU MAY LOOK IN VAIN FOR CROSSES BUT YOU'LL NEVER SEE A ONE
BUT SOMETIMES BETWEEN THE SETTING AND THE RISING OF THE SUN
YOU CAN HEAR A GHOSTLY BUGLE AS THE MEN GO MARCHING BY
YOU CAN HEAR THEM AS THEY ANSWER TO THEIR ROLL CALL IN THE SKY
COLONEL TRAVIS, DAVY CROCKETT, AND 180 MORE
CAPTAIN DICKINSON, JIM BOWIE, PRESENT AND ACCOUNTED FOOOR

Also I think getting killed with friendly fire by fucking Canadians with no enemy in sight is about a million times worse than a Korean war battle we lost.

Midway?

Atleast post the real battles.

Leyte Gulf, where an American destroyer and destroyer escort fleet (think babby ships) was bushwhacked by the biggest baddest battleships the Japanese still had while covering the invasion of Leyte
>The destroyer USS Johnston was the closest to the enemy. On his own initiative, Lieutenant Commander Ernest E. Evans steered his hopelessly outclassed ship into the Japanese fleet at flank speed. The Johnston fired its torpedoes at the heavy cruiser Kumano, damaging her and forcing her out of line. Seeing this, Sprague gave the order "small boys attack", sending the rest of Taffy 3's screening ships into the fray. Taffy 3's two other destroyers, Hoel and Heermann, and the destroyer escort Samuel B. Roberts, attacked with suicidal determination, drawing fire and disrupting the Japanese formation as ships turned to avoid their torpedoes. As the ships approached the enemy columns, Lt. Comdr. Copeland of the Roberts told all hands via bull horn that this would be "a fight against overwhelming odds from which survival could not be expected."As the Japanese fleet continued to approach, Hoel and Roberts were hit multiple times, and quickly sank. After expending all of its torpedoes, Johnston continued to fight with its 5-inch guns, until it was sunk by a group of Japanese destroyers.
>The ferocity of the defense seemingly confirmed the Japanese assumption that they were engaging major fleet units rather than merely escort carriers and destroyers

>tfw worst battle was pyrrhic victory

>its another "third worlders and brits get buttblasted at american superiority" episode
dont derail the thread you faggots, this has potential.

The one Brit was spot on the mark with his answer about Trafalgar and Singapore tbqh. Have a (You) for trying though

just wait user, they are coming.

I'd consider Siege of Badajoz to be much worse
>30,000 Brits take massage casualties fighting 5,000 Frenchies
>Get extremely asshurt when they finally beat the defenses
>LITERALLY CHIMPOUT, RAPE AND MURDER WOMEN
>SHOOT THEIR COMMANDING OFFICERS

>massage casualties
Hah
massive*
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Siege_of_Badajoz_(1812)

That was a victory though. And it wasn't 30,000 Brits, it was 30,000 Brits and Portuguese.

If you consider this worse than 80,000 soldiers surrendering because of a retarded commander there is something wrong with you.

soviet russia
battle of stalingrad
battle of borodino

Yes but Alamo was a loss and it's still a fantastic battle due to heroism and morale boosting.
I don't see how winning or losing solely decides the outcome of "best" and "worst", since that can mean a lot of things, and I think chimping out and murdering and raping women and children because you took casualties from outnumbered defenders and proceeding to shoot COs trying to tell you to calm down definitely fits "Worst", outcome aside.

Battle of Szigeth is pretty based, Ivan, check it out.

Also pic related is much worse number (and country you're fighting) wise.

>Losing a single battle to Italians
I take it back, this is the worst battle of all time.

A wins a win m8, not sure why you're trying to argue that it is worse than the Singapore surrender just because some dagos got shagged.

>siege of beograd or if you want to call it its real name Nándorfehérvár
in 1456 ottomans were beisieging the key to the west, thats Nándorfehérvár
Hunyadi with its army of peasant crusaders and the besieging troops breaking out beats the numerically superior army thus saving Hungary

it is why the noonbell rings, originally the pope ordered to pray for our souls because it was almost sure the fort will fall, it halted ottoman advance with a good 50 years
though Hunyadi died in the plague outbreak following the siege

>battle of Voronezh as part of operation Saturn in 1943 january
the 2nd hungarian army was deployed at the river Don (while soviets having bridgeheads on the left bank) to cover the flank of the advancing germans in stalingrad

poorly equiped and trained they had no chance whatsoever against the bulk of the red army
200k deployed, only 20% of them returned home

Literally how

I thought Mohacs was worse? Literally led to the destruction of your ruling class and thus subjugation of your country for the next 4 centuries

that ruling class deserved it, we still had standing armies and it took the turks 20years to conquer parts of the country
Voronezh was the biggest loss of hungarian life in a short time

and no the turks "only" spent 150years as our "guests"

>1942
We lost even against Hungarians desu

That's a win my friend

Kasserine Pass was primarily an Italian effort.

But the Italians won a lot more battles against the Soviets than just that one. Similar to the Ch'ongch'on River example above, it often involved armies composed almost solely of light infantry infiltrating and encircling numerically similar mechanized forces because their enemy's tactics were shit.

Murica
Going to have to agree with either the Naval battle off Samar or Midway for Best
Worst would probably go to when we lost the Philippines in '42 for the sheer amount of equipment/manpower we lost in one go
>inb4 Vietnam
We're talking battles not wars, though if we're going there Kham Duc was probably the worst of that bunch.

best: battle of tsushima
worst: midway reeeeee
