Listen to Mount Eerie by The Microphones.

This. Same goes for pretty much anything in their discog. Not straight up jazz drumming, but the jazz is there. This is like heavy metal punk jazz jamming in fun time signatures.

Holy shit, I only just listened to this album yesterday. I had it on my phone for months, barely listened to it, and I never saw it posted on Sup Forums either.

It's good.

Yeah I know. Probably one of my fav bands ever.

Elvin Jones - Poly Currents
Carlos Santana/Buddy Miles - Live!
Test! - Alive
Captain Beefheart - Lick My Decals Off, Baby & Trout Mask Replica
Miles Davis - Live/Evil
Ornette Coleman - Live at the Golden Circle Vol II
Triton - Wilderness of Glass
Zitro - s/t

Most free jazz in general has apeshit good percussion

Post-bop jazz drumming with elements of free jazz is what you probably want. I like Antonio because he has so much control, whereas a lot of other drummers, especially in the free jazz realm, sound and look so sloppy as if they don't try to improve or compliment other instruments, but maybe that's intended in free jazz. Idk.

Post bop
