What does Sup Forums think of the recent trend in mainstream hip-hop and R&B music of watered down dancehall/Caribbean flavoured tracks?

It's mostly being done by those Toronto OVO spooky alternative R&B artists, it seems they've all had a change of heart in the past few months and have become more upbeat.

Is this fad here to stay?

the worst thing to happen to pop in a while and that's saying something

it's one of the worst trends

>recent trend

it comes out like bizarro world bachata spic-pop, especially this tory lanez one and drake

I like it, it's fun and summery

this

it's disgusting at this point

Apart from Gwan Big Up Urself and the original version of Controlla that featured Popcaan, it's all been shit

yeah Controlla is pretty nice

I laughed my ass off when I heard this the first time

WHO LET THE DOGS OUT

kek

me

fuck ah batty bwaii drake love ah copy big man dem from the islands. buju wouldah nevah stand fih this rass. i love ah dancehall but dah when mainstream artists fuck up the sound ih sound like rass. real dancehall have wah culture around it, nuh just dumb fucking dub beats

honestly though, sometimes dancehall is better left to actual dancehall artists

you would like summer

Is Drake really that physically built? Haha.

Why is Tyga allowed to make music?

He's a buff qt

Even worse than Toronto OVO spooky alternative R&B?

Imagine beefing with an artist and then having to resort to literally carbon copying his song to maintain relevance.

And imagine that plan didn't work and you're still irrelevant.

This is literally Controlla fucking hell.

I don't mind Dancehall/Caribbean pop music when it's done well. Drake and Rihanna have some great tracks from that style of music but everyone seems to be failing miserably.

Who cares?
I mean wtf are you talking about?

Who cares what 40 specific artists out of the entire present and past musical universe do?

>"hey look those 40 metal bands from new zealand decided to use tribal percussion on their songs, what do you guys think?"

Why care about anything
