A temple or shrine in quiet rural city, go to Hatsumoude with your Japanese friends. Big cities like Kyoto, Osaka, Tokyo are always having many options.

82 days. I'll be there then. Hang in there, cure elderly couple.

>WWOOF What the fuck is this shit and why would you do this of all things in your life?
Chase Long
Was English not implied? I'll go somewhere else then, thanks for the help for those who gave it, I appreciate it.
Japanese start to learn other language(English) when they become 13 years old. That's why the guy told you must be under 13years old.
Get proper text book and learn grammar.

A worldwide organisation of organic farms. You sign up for a small fee for each country and then get access to a list of hosts all over the country where you can come and stay with them.
You work 6 hours a day for 3 meals and lodging. AKA budget long-stay holiday with included get-fit work.

Are you doing this just for the experience or a just a way of getting to Japan
Andrew Richardson
Have you done it before?
Aaron Anderson
Fun, and I am genuinely interested in the language Do you have a recommendation?
Levi Cox
Both. And for getting the fuck out of the city and get hard from doing manual work.
Nope, but I've heard from plenty of people who've done it that it's great.
Besides, I'm a 6'2 240lb Scandinavian. Need me to chop wood in -10C and a snowstorm? Mondai-nai desu, I brought my own axe.

Do you like Japan?
I like Japan!

Many people here recommend Genki. I started with Nakama and moved to Genki after a few years.
John Price
I saw many Japanese learner in this thread use ''genki Japanese''. Read OP and there are some useful links at there.
I hope you'll post here after you start your work. I'm interested to hear about your experience.
William Gutierrez
Do you have any farming experience? Do they just accept anybody? What was the fee?
Zachary Gonzalez
日本だいすき!(is that right?) I'll have to try that, thank you!

2bh, we don't usually have to use English at real life, only for school. Obligation brings you nothing. I hope learning English gives something attractive things for us except white cute girls.

>Do you have any farming experience? I've had my own tiny community garden, and I have 10+ years of outdoor experience. But never straight-up farmwork. Biggest challenge for me will probably be to slaughter a chicken.
>Do they just accept anybody? Pretty much, but the hosts aren't forced to accept you. You need to be an appealing person and make a good profile. Also, there are rules you need to follow.
>What was the fee? 5500JPY for a a years membership.
You really think I'll buy a new axe of Japanese steel, when I have a handforged Swedish hatchet? You must not know Scandinavians.
Yah, I get that. I chose the south to avoid the cold, actually.
I'm an /out/ist. I'm bringing fishing and hunting gear.
Plus, the farm is like 2km from a rural town with a store. I'll be fine.
I know Scandinavians, I have Dane friend in Japan...but >awn axe How can you take it to the airplane? But I can guess the axe is pretty good, post pic of the axe if you have it now.

The pic I posted is the same on I have. I'll put it in my check in luggage, then it's no problem. Same for the knife I'll be bringing, pic related. I've read up on Japanese knife laws since I'll be needing these tools for my outdoor life.
A year. January '17 - January '18 on a Working Holiday visa. My WWOOF membership ends in September, and then I'll hike around or get a part time job or something.

I need a qt Japanese girl to save me from this shit country and let me live with them and also cuddle me while we sleep.
Japanese knife law states that: >any blade over 15cm requires a permission >you cannot bring a blade with you unless you have a reasonable purpose >even then, it must not be easily accessible for the person, e.g. be in the front pocket
Neither the knife or axe is over 15cm, and I'll have both securely packed in my backpack together with a shitload of other camping gear whenever I'm not using them.
I wanted to go south, so I chose to send applications out to hosts in Kyushu and Okinawa. The couple I'm going to stay with replied and seemed nice, and they've been hosts for 7 years now. They also speak English a bit, and are willing to help me learn at least conversational Japanese.
