People who hate disco or either old white men or have no idea what disco entails

epic poast my dude have 1 upvote XD :)

ps; end your life

And what does disco entail?

t. underage poster

Oh fuck off fedora, disco is terrible

It's vapid pop music except it isn't even fun to listen to, it's just whiny and annoying

1. correct
2. incorrect
most people have a bad perception of disco because all they hear is Saturday night fever/top 40 pop adaption garbage.

Daily reminder:

OP is dumb

Good thing I don't believe in evolution
:^)

>cucked music journalists tried their hardest to glorify rap music
>they discovered too late that rap was descended from disco
>so they had to stoop even lower and glorify disco
>then they had to glorify Grimes

It all makes sense now.

Shitty

Imagine hating Michael Jackson and not considering yourself anything but a tryhard contrarian
youtube.com/watch?v=ZorRGrDiMsA

Disco is meant to have no qualities except being danceable, under the pretense of a continuous beat. Eventually people would "rap", using the emphasis of the beat. Imagine putting a pinwheel on a pile of shit. Evolution of Disco.

Yall niggers need Giorgio

1. OP evolved from Monkeys
2. Monkeys are stupid and eat fleas from their friends' butt

Without disco a vast amount of electronic genres wouldn't exist, not just hip hop

...

I'm not saying disco is bad or that electronic genres are bad because of their source

Why are raptards so stupid?

Hip hop evolved from reggae.

>Why are raptards so stupid?

Are you dense?
Do you really think a hip hop fan made this thread?
The only thing worse than being stupid is trying to be pompous about it, I can't wait until I can slap bitches like you across the internet you stupid motherfuckin inbred mook. I'd tell you not to reproduce but it isn't like you had a say in the matter anyway.

>2. Disco sucks
Disco is actually pretty good
The whole "disco sucks" meme was started by retarded white trailer trash who listened to Led Zeppelin and were afraid that the gays and women would take over music

BTFO

Rap was actually invented by italians
youtu.be/gU4w12oDjn8

actually, disco is good

Yet still I'm the first person to actually point this fact out, 20 posts later.

Def BTFO. Just because he DJ'd doesn't mean he did shit for rap.

Led Zeppelin is shit, but if you think gays and women are good you unironically need to kys

edgy

wew

this might be surprising but a lot of genres actually have multiple roots

oh

>this might be surprising but a lot of genres actually have multiple roots
I can think of R&B, funk, reggae, disco, and spoken word for rap

True. Example, punk simultaneously being created in the UK and New York underground scenes.

If you can't have fun while listening to that you are giant faggot fedora tipper.

Once again, disco was meant to be danced to. No musical depth, just
>XD dance dance

What you talking about, the New York scene came first and all the other scenes in the UK and Detroit became a thing
The punk bands in the UK only became fast and unbluesy once the Ramones did their tour there

>fun for the sake of fun is bad

Ramones didn't even release until '76, pistols were hatched in '74.

K you win you can go back to your top 40 now.

The Sex Pistols were a bluesy pub rock band until the Ramones toured

Detroit is the birthplace of the punk.

Read: Death, MC5, and The Stooges

...

Rap evolved from negro spirituals idiot

Except the UK punk was shiiit and real samey and US punk went on to inform the genre and it's offshoots, for the next 40 years, for better or for worse.

UK is shit tier. Let's have another thread about grime and UK GARAGE

Those inspired punk, not punk.

Okay actually you're right, I'm not very versed in pistols.
Well not my point. A genre can have multiple origins, as related to rap.

Who were those bands inspired by?
New York band the Velvet Underground.

>i'll make fake assumptions to cover my retardation

im older than you fuckboy if not physically then mentally

When I was fifteen, sixteen, when I started really to play the guitar.
I definitely wanted to become a musician.
It was almost impossible because it was, the dream was so big that
I didn't see any chance because I was living in a little town.

I was studying and when I finally broke away from school and became musician.
I thought "Well, I may have a bit of a chance."
Because all I ever wanted to do is music but not only play music but compose music.

At that time, in Germany, in 1969-70, they had already discotheques
So I would take my car and go to a discotheque, sing maybe thirty minutes
I think I had about 7-8 songs.
I would partially sleep in the car because I didn't want to drive home and that helped me for about almost two years to survive.
In the beginning, I wanted to do an album with the sounds of the 50s, the sounds of the 60s, of the 70s, and then have a sound of the future.

And I said, "Wait a second, I know the synthesizer. Why don't I use the synthesizer, which is the sound of the future?"
And I didn't have any idea what to do but I knew I needed a click so we put a click on the 24 track which then was synced to the moog modular.
I knew that it could be a sound of the future but I didn't realize how much impact it would be.

My name is Giovanni Giorgio, but everybody calls me Giorgio

Once you want to free your mind about a concept of harmony and music being correct, you can do whatever you want.
So nobody told me what to do and there was no preconception of what to do.

>implying anyone on Sup Forums is mentally over the age of 20
wew

I think that's what some cutting edge music journalists of the time thought too, but they're wrong. If a records foremost genre is "protopunk", that's a punk record through and through.

Nobody bought this record, and the idea that "every person who did buy one started a band" is like weird reverse wish fulfilment. The VU did some relatively subversive stuff but I think it's importance is incredibly overstated.

They actually conform pretty well to the sounds of the time, but what separates them the most is that they had sub-par production (which worked for them), and no real hit-hungry producers caring about the viability of their output.
