Are there rap albums with abstract concepts?

If so, suggest some.

I'm curious now, do you know any?

I don't brah.

abstract is kind of subjective no?

Dälek maybe? I don't understand what he's saying so I'm assuming it's abstract

What is an abstract concept? Seems like an oxymoron.

Do you know what the word oxymoron means?

Abstract concept is redundant, OP means "conceptual".

yeah, do you?

Conceptual means conceptual. Dr. Octagon is conceptual, I don't think anyone would call it abstract.

It's a pretty muddled OP, I'm not sure they know what they mean.

>concept is describable through use of language
>concept is abstract
pick one

Concepts are literally abstractions. "Concept Albums" are idiomatic references to thematic and theatrical performances by musicians. A concept is literally an abstract idea.

What exactly would be an abstract concept in your opinion?

I think abstract conceptual could be done. It might not make sense semantically, but maybe instead as a feeling. It would be hard to make any kind of non-instrumental hiphop that way though. I would think of something like Fennesz's 'Endless Summer' as an abstract concept album.

The concept itself would have to be abstracted, instead of literally conveyed like Dr. Octagon.

Endless Summer would actually be a pretty good example.

Basically everything except their early, early work

Literally, what? How can something be other than literally conveyed (as a concept) in words? Give an example please in words of what an abstract concept is.

I think concepts can be conveyed through artwork, organizing principals, feelings, even wardrobe.

Take say 'The Wall' a literal concept album where the concept is spelled out in black & white v. something like 'Twin Infinitives', also a concept album, but the concept is abstracted and couldn't be easily conveyed by language alone.
