He shouldn't have come back

He shouldn't have come back

y/n

y but he should experiment moar, do what he did with old hardware but with new tecnologies

I'm glad to have new material. Never mattered to me if it was new and mind blowing or not.
That said, some experimentation would be nice.

i like the opening tracks from cheetah and computer controlled, they sound like sector 7 slum music.

Syro was good, I don't get the hate

Syro was absolutely great and at least on par with Richard D. James Album. Cheetah was just some chill songs he liked and wanted to put out for his fans. The Soundcloud dumps were amazing if you liked his music for a long time.

So, yes, I'm glad he came back and have high expectations for his next album. Hopefully he makes something like ....I Care Because You Do or even Selected Ambient Works Volume II again.

Cheetah is great, man.

he still works with the same old hardware, he did an interview i think a year ago where he told the interviewer why analog is better than digital.

this, minipops 67 [102.2] [source field remix] is great.

He never really went away but his music is great and very welcome.

Don't think he stopped making mental shit just because he's been releasing lots of old hardware tracks.

Analog is better than virtual analog but digital still has many uses and is all over his music...the star of the Cheetah EP is a digital synth.

He still makes music with computers too, you just haven't heard any of it yet.

i always have the seem feeling with film. real film feels warmer and more real. the same with real instruments, digital programs always feel more cold to me.

maybe it's just my autism.

Essentially we find imperfections pleasing, whether this is a natural thing or comes from nostalgia I have no way of knowing.

Both have expressive capabilities which shouldn't be discarded imo.

Syro his easily one of his best albums. Cheetah was great too.

Sorry but I care because you do and RDJ don't cut it anymore. Nice little artifacts but nothing more.

N
It's not like the old albums are going anywhere

I'm glad he's writing actual tunes with actual melodies instead of going overboard with obtuse experimentation like some of his peers....

why?

...

Yes
Syro is great. The Soundcloud thing was fucking amazing. CCAI pt.2 has some strange and very cool tracks despite being pleb-repellant. Orphaned DJ selek was kinda meh, however and Cheetah was chill. All those releases have great songs on them, some have a higher percentage per release, but I'll always welcome new releases from Aphex Twin.

Syro was gr8 but all the eps have been bullshit so I dunno

not that user, but i notice this tendency in most people

there's something slightly oppressive about perfection that causes repulsion

people relate more easily to things with apparent flaws - the singer who makes you think you could do it with a little practice, the girl-next-door beauty types as opposed to supermodels, pop music in contrast with classical, and so on

you can love perfection, of course, but the experience can be slightly unsettling
