can someone rec me an amp? it'll be or metal, but i like the orange crunchy sound more than the nasal marshal sound. i want something with tubes or hybrid, and with 2 channels and an effects loop. i'd get the dark terror but i want to be able to switch to a clean sound live
Aiden Sullivan
Why are there barely any good tabs for Trout Mask Replica tracks? (or Beefheart in general)
I want to learn Steal Softly Thru Snow but I'm not great at playing by ear/transcribing at all
Blake Powell
and 24... is knocking on my door... *moans like a fucking cow*
James Morales
pls respond
should i just use the dark terror and get cleans on my volume knob? its not very precise..
Aaron Diaz
Regular terror and a fucking TS if you're concerned.
Ethan Morgan
...
Elijah Ross
whats TS?
Isaiah Parker
...
Samuel Rivera
Guys how long would It take me to lean enough theory to make my own chords and progressions? Ive been playing guitar for 5 years but never bothered to learn theory
Samuel Turner
but i want to get my gain through the amp while still being able to switch to cleans. is the jim root terror good? it looks like all i need but i dont want people to make fun of me bc its a signature of a slipknot member
Nolan Taylor
Sounds bretty good t b h. Who wants some 24 year old women who rode the cock carousel lol/
Sebastian Morales
Fuck if I know. All I know is that everyone and their dog has used or uses a TS in one way, shape or form.
Cooper Morales
Pic related is kinda lifted and weird but it's not loose or anything. Should i get it fixed or leave it like that?
Aiden Parker
Seek help. You do not want the bridge to come out and take with it half the top of your guitar.
Wyatt Cruz
>half the top of your arm fixed
Lucas Brown
Is there anything sadder than people complaining about "blues lawyers"?
You work in walmart and live in your parents house, thats ok but why then lash out at people who have money since they applied themselves and can now enjoy their hobbies at their ease? Do you have to be a poor loser to be a "true" musican?
Adrian Torres
who listens to blues anymore
Jason Nguyen
The vast majority of popular guitar based music is based on the blues
Justin Barnes
do you drive around in a horse and carriage too
Xavier Bailey
>You work in walmart and live in your parents house, you can be rich and still complain about them, it's not as much about them spending money on a guitar to play, but rather about spending money on a guitar as a social status, "look at me I bought a top end Gibson(tm) for true vintage tones !" Nobody gives a shit when a gigging musician spends as much on a guitar, because it's going to be used. It's just like buying a racing car to pick up your kids at school.
Sebastian Martinez
I guess i shouldn't bother setting up this piece of shit until i get it fixed then, thanks
Mason Rogers
also please note that I said gibson but the same can be applied to any renowned brand guitar that sits in a corner like a painting.
Luke Brooks
geniune kek your point is retarded though
Just listening to Jason Richardson's new album, what the fuck is wrong with Djent lyrics my maynes... fuck, this video is exactly on point youtube.com/watch?v=4IxBL1reKqY Also Spencer Sotelo is absolute shit.
Aiden Roberts
>"look at me I bought a top end Gibson(tm) for true vintage tones !" >It's just like buying a racing car to pick up your kids at school.
I dont see a problem, the whole thing reeks of butthurt and elitism. That gibson mounted on the wall that is never played will at least hold its value into the future and can be sold again for a good price at some point, or maybe somebody in the house will start playing it some day. It's not like this is driving up the price of good guitars to make them unaffordable to most people like what happens with property. If you cant afford to save up a measly 5k for something you want you may as well give up on life since you will never be able to afford a house or raise kids.
Wyatt Anderson
>raise kids >user >breeding hahaha, unless is user's wife's son, then it might be a reality but >user >getting a gf nah
Hunter Thompson
This is not r9k
Dylan Stewart
start learning and find out
Levi Gray
I never said the problem was in spending $5k on something. Guitars are tools, you don't buy a drill to hang it in your living room to never use it. If you want to spend that much on something, do it on a painting or something that really matters to you, not some guitar to pretend you're actually a guitar player.
Juan Kelly
>you don't buy a drill to hang it in your living room to never use it.
Well I do because I can afford it.
Isaac Ramirez
>oh hey nice drill, you like building stuff ? >haha no actually i just bought it because it looks good in my living room
Dominic Lewis
What if I build a fully equipped stage in my house because I like music but dont play myself? Does anybody care?
Jayden James
That too.
Leo Cook
Unless people know, nobody cares. But if I meet someone that had a high end guitar but didn't even play, I'd think he's a dipshit. But it would be the same with someone who had his guitar for years but barely knows how to play, regardless of the guitar.
Carson Richardson
>That gibson mounted on the wall That's a nice way to ruin a good nitro finish. Keep high ends in case.
David Lee
Maybe they work 60-80 hours a week and dont get much time to play, unlike NEET scumbags in their moms basement with their anime 11 sting basses who have all the time in the world
Aiden Cooper
Looking at getting a squier classic vibe jazz bass and a fender rumble 25 to start out on. Any other little accessories I'll want/need gg?
Carson Reyes
If you're going for a low end bass, buy a yamaha if you want more for your money.
Ryan Fisher
>working 60-80 hours a week is this what american freedom is like ?
Jason Evans
straps strings tuner an extra cable just in case maybe a metronome
Owen Johnson
Does anyone in a first world country actually work this much?
Elijah Lee
Who remembers that one guy who used to come on here and shitpost his fucking silver burst telecaster everywhere
Levi Gomez
Actually, yes. In America, people can work 60 hours a week and still have to work on their days off.
Dominic Gray
Everybody from factory workers to doctors, lawyers, etc. It depends on the workplace, but obviously no matter what job they get more money than somebody who only does 40 hours a week doing the same thing.
Brody Hernandez
Maybe they should get their priorities sorted if they need to work that much but can still buy a $5k instrument. While we're on the subject of 11 string basses. youtube.com/watch?v=sCYZdw2ouOs
I do. I remember SGcuck too. I wonder if he's still a cuck.
Kevin Gray
Why wouldn't they?
Easton Watson
>when you beautiful 2011 fender factory special run telecaster in silver burst gets you pussy I'm still here btw
Robert Wright
>when you beautiful 2011 fender factory special run telecaster in silver burst turns you into a pussy ftfy
Dominic Phillips
This happened to me after buying a telecaster. I'm a fuccboi now.
Joshua Butler
In Sweden it's against the law to put workers to work more than 40 hours a week and overtime can't exceed 50 hours in a month and also can't exceed more than 200 hours of total overtime a year.
80 hours a week sounds retarded. How do you even get sleep with 80 hour weeks?
Adrian Morgan
>In Sweden
stopped reading there
Michael Gutierrez
Oh that's why so many twinks play teles, they used to not be twinks !
it's the same in France, except I think for doctors and military/police.
Samuel Lewis
>not having a qt (barely) 16 y/o gf to come to your house at night and jam with you >not owning a manly, heavy telecaster to make women moisten up immediately >not owning a guitar with a fully maple neck and a sick paint job >not owning sweet tones (obviously from the tone wood)
Ryan Hernandez
Just change that to Norway if you'd like, same thing there except make it 45 hours a week if I'm not wrong
Evan Ward
>manly >telecaster
No thanks, I have a Gibson.
Hudson Ross
>How do you even get sleep with 80 hour weeks?
Not very easily. I've only ever done it for a few months at a time before stopping just to get a lot of money together quickly. I guess in Sweden you would have to retarded amounts of tax anyway so there would be literally no point in doing it.
Nathaniel Phillips
How's chemotherapy going grandpa ?
Aaron Campbell
*have to pay
Thomas Fisher
What the fuck That sounds amazing but also ass backwards because getting anything like a tv show, movie, or video game done in a reasonable amount of time would be almost impossible. >tfw in America you can work that many hours a week and still have to pay a shitload of money on health insurance >tfw you probably dont even have dental
Isaiah Nguyen
I don't think you get to disparage anyones age when you own a memecaster.
>implying telecasters are hip and cool with youngsters nowadays ask anyone who doesn't own a guitar and some who do what the best guitar brand is and they'll say Gibson simply because of the fame of the company. That's the power you need to impress people.
Nathaniel Phillips
>getting anything like a tv show, movie, or video game done in a reasonable amount of time would be almost impossible. workers in europe are actually competent
David Ortiz
>I guess in Sweden you would have to retarded amounts of tax anyway
Depends on how much you earn, 2000-50000 annual is 31% tax. It's only above that 50000 limit the taxes start getting silly.
Aaron Thompson
>And many, like Hagopian and Rowan, say their office doesn't have many people with the same expertise who could serve as backup.
>"If I leave and something breaks and somebody who doesn't know how to fix it tries to fix it, it could get a lot worse," Rowan says.
I'm on holiday right now, I hope the place goes to shit when I'm gone since its not my problem for now.
Asher Lopez
That must be why there are so many famous movies and such made in Sweden then, right user?
Hudson Collins
blacked seems to be rather popular :^)
Isaiah Cruz
for a country of 9 million with little history in theatre compared to other european countries, yeah. There's an alright amount of decent Swedish movies made.
Lincoln Baker
kek
Alexander Parker
>In Sweden
what was gearspammers youtube again? i need some pedal stuff.
I just found out about a super old, local repair shop that also offers a few classes. They have a 'Guitar Setup 101' course that goes for 8 weeks and teaches you everything you need to know about doing a setup. It's $375 though. Am I an idiot for considering signing up?
They also have an 18 week course where you build your own guitar from scratch that sounds fucking awesome, but it's over $3,000.
Jaxon Russell
You must be 17
Matthew Young
welcome back to /GG/! Today's episode is Telecaster Hating! Join in on the fun by posting your Teles! Don't miss out if you missed yesterday's "Mustangs are gay" and "offsets are for indie twinks" threads!
Levi Moore
HATE TELE
Isaac Nelson
>offsets are for indie twinks
This one is true though.
Landon Thompson
It would probably save you a lot of money in the long run to be able to set up your own guitar, you could probably learn it from youtube but that would not have the same social value of course.
Nathaniel Thompson
don't worry grandpa, tomorrow's ERG bashing again. I hate tele/offset players more than the guitars themselves though
Isaac Ramirez
>You play guitar and you're NOT in a band????
Xavier Myers
I've watched a handful of setup tutorials on youtube, but I've never walked away from one with enough confidence to go buy some tools and start adjusting shit on my guitar.
The shop and classes sound legit as fuck, $375 just sounds like so much money :( Not sure what to do
Levi Nguyen
can we bash ERBs aswell?
Jaxson Peterson
That is pretty sad desu senpai
Asher Ross
>tfw all I do is occasionally fill in for these old guys at pub gigs
Josiah Brooks
you've got to be really good to get in a non-shit band as guitarist
John Bell
today's telebashing you blasted fool !
Luis Jackson
I meant tomorrow man, just asking so I can prep all my 'muh erb' images
Camden Williams
everything about that is disgusting
Robert Clark
there better be some top tier shitposting then
no u
Ryder Green
>tfw like playing metal >tfw afraid of using new tunings because i don't want to fuck up my knowledge of standard >tfw can only cover old classic metal songs bc of it
Hudson Nguyen
not as bad as me, playing bass and not being in a band
Jack Rogers
That's not true. I only hear that from people who have never made any effort and are scared to schedule jams on craigslist
Christopher Fisher
>>tfw can only cover old classic metal songs bc of it Just to name a few Opeth, Cynic, Sylosis and 90% of black metal are in E standard.
Luis Bell
Metal doesn't use unorthodox tunings, it's almost exclusively standard tunings and a few drop tunes here and there and it's really not that hard to adjust to tuning down a step or two.
Also 99% of black/power/traditional doom/heavy/thrash is in E standard so wtf are you even talking about
Chase Nelson
absolutely never
Brody Foster
that hard-edged burst is so disgusting
Connor Wood
Oh I remember that thread. That guy lurked here for awhile too until people posted that pic so often that he got too embarrassed and then left. Funny shit
Jayden Butler
I want to hop on the Jazzmaster meme but I read that replacing the bridges is quite essential?
Is this needed on the JMJMs which have the tune-o-matic bridges?
Brandon Harris
Wow, not only john carmack is a genius but he also plays bass !
