I really tried to like it

but sadly i was a pleb :(

...

>likes Jewanna Newsom
>calls others plebs

This is garbage, mentally deficient music. Not to mention her grating "lel so quirky XD" voice and lyrics. MUH STRINGZ

but sadly i was too patrician :(

try this pleb

I love Flood, but Lincoln just doesn't do it for me.

someone explain it

i'm sorry you feel that way. i really like her music!

>if a girl has an unconventional voice it's "lel so quirky XD"

this is why you don't have have friends

I like her butt

Too 80s?

me too it's a good butt

>I'm so progressive for listening to a Jewish Woman's attempt at music!

Best ass in indie.

It's one of the most groundbreaking albums of all-time, just keep in mind that this kind of music was extremely difficult to find due to it being almost completely sample-based which was unheard of at the time, with full arrangements on each track.
Endtroducing changed everything.

no, i'm not a nu-male, and i think she's a bit overrated but just saying just because she doesn't have a voice like a popstar doesn't mean it's some tryhard bullshit

What does Regina Spektor have to do with anything?

literally what the fuck does that have to do with anything

>

>I'm a beta nu-male cuck

(;

off topic

I really couldn't get into Ys

should I give this album a try or is it more of the same?

wtf i hate joanna newsom

oh, so you're just shitposting. carry on

No, it's shit.

How about try some real music instead of that beta nu male garbage. Here's a rec

divers is her best

It's ok OP you don't have to like music just because other people say you do. You're an individual with your own taste and opinions!

Listened to it like 3 times and it just got even more boring. Then I moved on to the first album and heard like one song that made me think "hey this is alright". Now I've just given up on the band

Only if you're a beta nu-male cuck (;

Listen to the opening track Easy. If you like it you'll love the album. It's so much warmer and more intimate than Ys. And I actually prefer the arrangements, they're not overdone but are still winding and sprawling.

Vocals aren't even the worst part. The spastic orchestration just kills me.

you are trying too hard to convince people you are a Sup Forums user

Can someone please explain why this is his most popular? The only album I can get into from him is Five Leaves Left.

It's shit .

What's spastic about it?

Any other time something similar is done it's "quirky XD" but then people defend Newsom to their last breath.

>they're not overdone but are still winding and sprawling.
Does that mean it doesn't sound like the conductor is having a seizure on this one?

Joanna's voice is goddess tier on HOOM. Have converted naysayers who dropped her before checking out that album

The dynamics and melodies change way to quickly. Its one of my pet peeves with certain classical music, where there are way too many unnecessary flourishes to where it gets distracting, except turned up to eleven on this album.

Speaking off female musicians can someone explain to me why Joan Jett was ever considered good? Is it a first of her kind type of deal?

...

Maybe give it a listen and form your own opinion. I'll even make it Easy for you by posting a link.

>Joan Jett was ever considered good?

Her music was really catchy and she had a nice voice. That's about it

>Endtroducing..... received universal acclaim from critics, who praised DJ Shadow's approach to sampling and the beats he created from samples. It ranked highly on various year-end lists of the best albums of 1996. The album is considered to be a landmark work in the instrumental hip hop movement, with DJ Shadow's innovative sampling techniques and arrangements influencing other producers to create similar sample-based works

>Steve Reich
I can't tell which is worse, him, or Joanna.

...

Joanna, definitely

>DJ Shadow's innovative sampling techniques and arrangements

Fedora

I really respect this album and I can understand it's appeal. I just don't like it. OK Computer was better imho

No, just not as consistent imo

Okay but in 2016 how does it stand out from the crowd.

It's really fucking good in 2016

cough

>Jews

These and so much more Sup Forumscore actually, I don't understand how you guys like a lot of the stuff you do.

Holy fucking shit dude quit trying so hard

I mean, it's okay.

People love to point to MBDTF being the moment where shitfork disappeared up the ass of poptimism, but this here was the point where they started seriously inflating scores to average rap and R&B projects. A 10/10 for MBDTF isn't much of a stretch, a 9.5/10 for this was ludicrous.

This dude seriously fucked up by releasing the best song on here by a fucking light year as the lead-off single, btw.

We dont

Dude that album is fucking good. It's a legit masterpiece. One of the best R and B albums in a good while.

MBDTF is so mediocre, if anyone other than Kanye had made it it would have been a fart in the wind. Same thing with Carter 3.

Fanboys who buy into an artists work regardless of the quality

This, I disagree with giving MBDTF a 10 but I can sorta understand why someone would, but, while I liked Channel Orange, I really cannot comprehend why anyone would rate it that fucking highly. Unlike MBDTF it's really not a noteworthy or particularly memorable album in the slightest.

carter 3 is overrated but carter 2 is a legitimately good album

This album is a very modern concept. It's the glimpse of a genius creating shitty experiments but still being praised due its sociological and political themes and his next album I absolutely guarantee will follow the same fate.

I don't like most Sup Forumscore, but I really tried with this one.

Listen to it louder

how long have you been here and what's your favourite music

>MBDTF is so mediocre, if anyone other than Kanye had made it it

I disagree completely. MBDTF is pretty good regardless of who made it, but you have to realize that a lot of the albums themes do have to deal with Kanye as a person.

Yeezus and TLOP is shit. No one would care if it wasn't Kanye

Carter 3 is pretty fun. Wayne went to shit after though.

This took me 10 listens to truly love, now it's one of my all time favorites.

would this album be so highly acclaimed if Frank Ocean was straight?

...

>mbdtf is pretty good
its the most mediocre radio pop to ever be praised on this board

That's exactly my point. People only bought into Carter 3 hype because of Carter 1, Carter 2 and his mixtapes. If he hadn't released those people wouldn't give a shit about Carter 3 cause it's crap.

If Kanye hadn't made College Dropout and Late Registration then MBDTF would have pretty much gone unnoticed.

just take it for what it is. don't worry about what everyone else says about it, just form your own opinion of it. sounds like corny, useless advice but that's what it took for me.

Eh, that's fair desu. Stuff like Kid A (The title track), In Limbo, and some other tracks can be a little hard to get into, it took me a while to really appreciate this album.

While we're on this album... I've always hate the fucking drums on it. Not once have I ever been able to appreciate any of it, even on the dance track. That's probably why Loomer and To Here Knows When are huge cut above the other tracks to me.

No nigga, Not at all. I haven't heard any MBDTF songs on the radio even, but it's clear that you don't understand the album and it's lyrics. Barring the lyrics, it still stands on its own in terms of production.

I've tried, I've really tried, but with the exception of the first track it either feels annoying of just doesn't leave an impact at all

>Barring the lyrics, it still stands on its own in terms of production.
listen to more music before posting on this board thank you

>Kid A (The title track

That drumwork. It's the first song from the album that clicked for me. Ahh good times, I remember being like 13 and that shit blew my mind after listening to it so many times and finally getting it.

I've listened to more music than you. Dude everyone agrees MBDTF is good, even Scaruffi. How about you get your head out of your ass you fuckface.

>YOU EVEN HAVE SEX WITH A PHARAOH
>AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
>PUT THE PUSSY IN A SARCOPHAGUS
Very deep lyrics, really make u think

I honestly think this is just a big meme, genuinely awful.

the songs are so boring, it's generic pop

>Dude everyone agrees MBDTF is good, even Scaruffi.
holy shit kill yourself

Remember to never fall for hype
Nobody gives a shit about Odd Future or Crystal Castles even though they were huge and looking back on them now it's really cringeworthy that p4k championed those artists

>everyone agrees MBDTF is good, even Scaruffi

If you're not a pleb then yes, it does make you think, which clearly you didn't do.

That specific track "Monster" deals with hedonism, excess and self centerdness. It's very tounge in cheek.

>falseflagging this hard and people still taking the bait

2 years, dream pop and neo psych

Name one respected critic that panned mbdtf.

That's wierd as fuck
do you like any other shugazi?

DUUUDE LMAO
Just do more drugs desu

I've gave this multiple listens. Although it's super creative and i do like a handful of tracks.
The rest just don't click to me.
And people say this is better than Endtroducing?

Twenty One Pilots writes better lyrics then that. You can write a song about any topic but the key is to write it well, which Kanye doesn't do.

>And people say this is better than Endtroducing

They're wrong

but

>SELLING YOUR SOUL

listen to it loud in the dark with no distractions. In fact, I advise that to most of the people who feel like they don't "get" a lot of albums. Don't listen to something while absent-mindedly browsing Sup Forums, dedicate some time to it and you will probably "get" it

I like Pygmalion a lot, but that's it. The general sound of shoegaze doesn't appeal to me for some reason. I do like When You Sleep and Come In Alone, but that's more for the songwriting/melody than the sound it achieves.
