>new EP dropped at 8am this morning

The audio in these recordings attempts to capture and recreate the average Saturday morning for the elusive Seldomo. At dawn, a bird softly pulls its spirit from the depths of its dreams, and brings its consciousness back to its immediate surroundings. Seldomo picks up his feet and stumbles to the nearest bodega, where he contemplates capitalism while enjoying reasonably priced consumer goods. On the walk home, he passes a chapel, well kept and cleanly. Surrounding the steps are homeless people, all with signs explaining how they got there, through various strikes of misfortune. Walking on, the realities of life start to hit Seldomo as he walks beneath the rattling tracks of the subway. When he finally reaches home, however, he is greeted by his love and all is well.

New EP released a few days ago, tells a story of young love turning sour.
> Bedroom pop with indie rock influences.

that's some fat guitar tone on track 2 my man

what kind of pedals/amps/fx did you use?

I am currently taking submissions for a label in which I am looking to actualize by the end of this year, specializing within a range of various genres, namely; jazz, techno, ambient, punk, classical and other experimental releases.

Send your music and a small biography to: [email protected], to be considered.

thanks, I used a Rockburn G10 Slimline amp with a few overdrive and distortion pedals, with minor touches in garageband to add more crunch with a Jaxville Hades ST Style guitar

I love this. Pleasant music, perfect for driving in the countryside. Probably you should make physical copies of your work so people will be able to listen to this in their cars
Not bad, but stoner and doom metal music is the type of shit that needs to sound HUGE. The tone is good, but somehow it feels a bit empty, like it was recorded with a really bad microphone. I don't know honestly what equipment you used.
Also, the drums could be much louder.

*but I DO NOT want it to sound like shit
Oh God I am a failure

here, yeah, I kinda just used an iPhone to record this but I'm looking to get recording equipment before recording my next demo. I also mixed the bass badly as well, so it's pretty much inaudible, and I'm trying to improve my mixing ability. Thanks for the feedback though, much appreciated

I did le made sth about how you're homos, yes.

I bought an SM57 and a small mixer for myself months ago
It wasn't cheap but I tell you it was the best thing I've spent my money on

very cool, thanks.

No problem

seldomo here

i always burn up about 50 CDs when i release something new. can't say i recommend it for you to do. it seems to be a dieing medium. i've had people actually turn down free cd's because heir comptuer doesnt have the drive anymore.

if you're gonna be making cd's though just get some cheap ones and sell em for a dollar or 2. i cant see someone spending upwards of 5 for a CD, at least not here in new york. you're right about cars though, that's still the saving grace of CD's.

cassettes you generally need to know someone who presses them, or go through a label. different labels make it different levels of convenient. personally i've turned down some cassette labels. i think vinyl is the msot successful hard music item, been reading articles of it having a comeback. since it's so costly to make i havent got around to pressing any yet though.

>crunchy
>cringey lyrics about the bittersweet feeling of graduating high school and stuff like that
>includes attempt at a "ragtime" song

So far this is pretty comfy. I like all of the subtle sounds that you place right behind the acoustic guitar; they add a lot to it. Even the harmonica in the second song sounds a lot more subdued than some people would make it. Lots of cozy melodies as well. I'm going to have to listen to more of this later, but I'm digging the laid-back atmosphere and it's not without beauty. The concept is also interesting. It might be in danger of sounding a little too generic due to its understated style but I think most of the time it veers in the opposite direction, so nice job overall.

Be back with more feedback for you all later.

I could record cassettes at home. But I'm concerned how it would sound if I plugged my PC's audio output into the cassette deck, hit REC then play the album.
If someone's willing to pay for my shit then I want them to enjoy it in the best quality possible (apart from that lo-fi buzz tapes give to the audio).
I don't want to get rich, it's just good to know someone has a cassette in their music collection I've made once.

Our jam albums Zapadas vol 1 and 2 are selections of completely raw recordings and 100% improvised music made just for fun but are pretty nice albums in themselves. Then there's the debut self titled album from 2012.

>community engagement, rather than musical quality/potential, should determine whether a person gets a response
this is why we have so much boring music

Someone has to do it nigga, otherwise the thread would die fast.

Good chill feels bro

I admit I don't always have the time to listen to full albums everytime, but I usually try to listen to at least one or two songs in whole.

kvlt as fuck, definitely a fan.

>this is why we have so much boring music
you are ignoring the idea that the particular type of community engagement here is FEEDBACK, meaning that it's about improving shitty music and praising good music.

Classic old-school black metal feel.
Good album.

Yeah, simply saying rec is bullshit
But actual constructive criticism is what can improve boring/mediocre musicians

b-b-but that would require actually listening to and paying attention to music... it's so much easier to just rec 12 things so people can listen to my spongebob mixtape and say rec so that I can jerk off to the idea of new fans listening to my music even though deep down I know they skimmed 2 tracks and then smashed the rec butan

iikrisgm.bandcamp.com/

Rec is still a lazy way to say "yeah I listened to it twice"
I would point out what part of the music caught my attention the most, or how does it make me feel if I can't say anything that could improve it

thanks anons

you guys should try describing your music.

What if they liked the whole thing from start to end and had no suggestions for improving any of it?

I didn't say "rec". I give actual feedback. That takes a lot of time. there's limited time in our lives. So I focus on artists that are already really good or that have a lot of potential but something holding them back, regardless of how involved they are.

the "involved" people are usually just giving nondescript recs anyway.

That does not happen. Not even with 10/10 albums. There must be some parts of the music that caught your attention more than others
It could be a strange time signature, a lush sax solo in the middle of the song, the tone of the bass, anything

I only say rec when I already heard that album before and expressed my thoughts on it in an older thread.

One of the strangest titles and covers I've seen. Pure suprematism.
It's definitely downtempo, really calm stuff. What caught my attention the most are the vocals.
Sadly it's kind of forgettable.

Thanks for the comment mate, but why forgettable? :(

Have you ever listened to Sunn O)))?

As a matter of fact I'm going to see them live in a September.
But the same rule applies. As for Sunn I would point out how well the guitars sound, those guitars alone have more bass and thickness many bands can only dream of.
But I can also point out how well Csihar Attila's vocals work with that droney music, and how shitty he sounded in Mayhem. Tormentor is still one of my fav black metal bands.

...

Nope, no dead can dance samples. I really appreciate the feedback though. Yeah I've been told that I cut my songs short a lot when they have a lot of potential.

hey this is my album . i use the name Blaze the Cat. its electronic music also why do you guys call each other 'fags' so much ??

one of my buddies albums

"Music has and always will be one of my primary ways of expressing myself, because it's a lot easier to sing a song then actually to talk about your problems, especially when you view your own as trivial compared to the struggles of the people you care about around you.

This album is a lot of old music redone in an attempt at making it sound more like music and rather less like someone trying very hard to make a bunch of noise sound like a melody.

There are a couple of new tracks, which were done recently as an attempt to cheer myself up, which has surprisingly worked. I normally don't leave a note with anything I make, in fear of being a cringeworthy cliche, but sometimes in life you just have to say fuck it and do what feels right.

To anyone who enjoys this kind of music, I find you most commendable.

To the people who don't, it's okay, it just means you have good taste.

If ain't free, it ain't punk!"
