this right here, boys. there is no more mature, bad ass metal rendering of songs i have ever listened to. don't tell your parents.
I thought of this but OP said 20 years, this came out in '91 I think.
oh right, i forgot. I still think of 20 years ago being in the 80's
1 year too soon but i dont give a fuck

This, pic related, and Leviathan
No, but still a pretty good album. Don't really get the hate for it
You are not excused and im fucking baited
follow the smoke?
Yea sorry, the halfling's leaf has addled my wits.
Do people actually consider this great, or is it just a meme album? I listened to it and in was ok, but it was too long (unsurprisingly) and the vocals/lyrics were stupid.
Sleep's Holy Mountain is (even) better, but Dopesmoker was released in 2003 while the former was released in 1992. IDK, I love the epic droney, middle eastern-style riffs coupled with Al's roars and the heavy as fuck production value.
Don't think it's hard to argue my case. Breathed new life into the dwindling death metal scene
I think genre is really up to the listener to decide, but whatevs
It's an objective and obvious truth that Bach isn't the same as Immortal. You're wrong, bucko.
Agree to disagree, all music sounds the exact same.
This is and probably will be the peak of death metal. Metal is slowly dying, sadly.

Past 20 years has been pretty boring IMO
i dont know why nobody's posted this yet
>all music sounds the exact same
because Kanye and Stalaggh sound the same dont they
It's pic and there's barely even other competition. Fas does everything that makes metal a genre worth listening to among the varieties of music in existence. There's the visceral part because it's distorted of course, but there are some off putting riffs, they are played very fast, and the production just gives it this really insane feel where the drums are pretty loud in the mix despite being super fast and the guitars use a space that feels like it envelops the listener. Technically in terms of actual instrumental skill it delivers, but not in a wanky way (can't say that for Paracletus though), and while there aren't as many riffs per track/overall number of riffs on this as say...Slayer's Reign In Blood or an OSDM classic like Altars Of Madness, it certainly makes up for that in having more long form technical riffs and lead guitar fills that support the actual riffs themselves.
Because you're the only one that didn't go to a summer camp.

It's also their only good album
Metalhammer readers seemed to think it was :3
why do metal albums have such ugly, shitty covers
Because you have the homosexual virus. The first thing it attacks is the eyes, making you find normally attractive things ugly, and vice-versa. Eventually it leads to buttsex.
This one. Or maybe Still Life.
because metal is the least art-centric genre.
They're all really bad. Definitely maybe is the best album of the past 25 years
Fantastic album senpai
