Nah this is legit one of the worst albums I've ever heard

its literally first time using garageband the album

Soundclown the album

I liked it when it first came out/I was younger, now I'll bop along to the nostalgia if I hear it. But compared to Because The Internet I really do see it as a more "childish" release. It still holds a nice spot in my heart though.

BTI is incredible though.

Most of it is good at least

...

i agree OP, no-fun music critics can't appreciate music like this

>I've seen it all like I'm John Mayer's penis hole

Actual quote from the album. Seems like cherry picking but the whole album is full of corny shit like that. The production is terrible too. Pitchfork got it right. Thats one of the worst hip hop albums ever recorded.

Camp is still an amazing album

shut

wow they didn't like the s/t either, which is more surprising. i didn't know this.

well, who cares, eh?

you start

literal garbage

yes

...and wtf, they gave plastic beach a best new music tag and an 8.5.

i've never really thought anything of pitchfork, but this is baffling.

Nah m8. I like Because the Internet but Camp was awful. The p4k review might be the most accurate one they've ever wrote.

...

>BTI is incredible though.

plastic beach is their best album though

The P4K review was bad because it was mostly the writer just shitting on Gambino more than actually talking about the music.

Camp did not deserve a 1.8 or whatever it got. I do not care who you are, if you're honestly going to tell me it deserved that you are fucking insane. The least it should've gotten was a 4-5.

When I first heard it I thought it was an 8-9. Go back to it nowadays I'd say it's a 6-7. Still a good album, but the amount of hate it got from P4K was ridiculous

So we're done? This the real shit?
We used to hold hands like field trips
I'm a jerk, but your dude is a real dick
I read his post on your wall and I feel sick
He ain't cool, he ball and all that
But he just a fake nigga who blog in all caps
You couldn't wait to date
I'm going straight for your thighs like the cake you ate
I give a fuck about the niggas that you say you ate
You know that I’m the best when I’m a-fake-tionate
I'm the best that you had, face it
J and Keyshia are related: racist
I give you money, then you burn me, then you made off
She ain't a killer, but she'd fucking blow your head off
I know he wondering, "What the fuck you hiding?"
That we dated like raps about Bin Laden
Ayo, fuck this
Are we dating? Are we fucking?
Are we best friends? Are we something? In between that?
I wish we never fucked, and I mean that

how is any of that worth a 4-5
its garbage shit that 11 year old girls write on tumblr

1 verse from 1 song from an album that has 13 tracks = 1.8

Logic/10

not gonna waste my day off on you
pitchfork already explain why

...

I'm convinced that this album will be a cult classic less than a decade from now.

Pitchfork seems to disagree though:

>The Strokes frontman is back with a new band and a new sound. Tyranny is overloaded with ideas, a palette of vibrant colors swirled together until there’s nothing left but brown; it’s as adventurous as it is unlistenable, a spectacular failure.

>4.9

Jesus.

How did some of those albums even get that low?

Tyranny deserves more than that for Human Sadness alone. And Ulver and Angels of Light getting that low is surprising.

they'll delete the review if that happens

MBDTF
I love the album but it's not a 10

I'll probably get killed for saying this, but I thought Panic at the Disco's debut was a 7. p4k gave it a 1.5

nah man, Fever is by far my favorite release. It really depends on the person tho, it should at least be a 7/10 if you like anything out of that mid 2000's pop punk era

>The Angels of Light - How I Loved You
>4.8
Do they hate Stuff by Mikey G or something.

Gambino shill plz go
He's a good actor but such a shit rapper. He's literally shit among shit.

OP here, let me try again.
>6.4

Let me also quote the review:
>One more time, we're gonna celebrate, oh yeah, all right, don't stop the dancing, one more time, we're gonna celebrate, oh yeah, all right, don't stop the dancing, one more time, we're gonna celebrate, oh yeah, all right, don't stop the dancing, one more time, we're gonna celebrate, oh yeah, all right, don't stop the dancing, one more time, we're gonna celebrate, oh yeah, all right, don't stop the dancing, one more time, we're gonna celebrate, oh yeah, all right, don't stop the dancing, one more time, you know I'm just feelin' celebration, tonight, celebrate, don't wait, too late, we don't stop, you can't stop, we're gonna celebrate, one more time, one more time, one more time, a celebration, you know we're gonna do it right, tonight, just feeling, music's got me feeling the need, we're gonna celebrate, one more time, celebrate and dance so free, music's got me feeling so free, celebrate and dance so free, one more time, music's got me feeling so free, we're gonna celebrate, celebrate and dance so free, one more time.

>That Gorillaz's closing number-- Ed Case's two-step-meets-raga remix of "Clint Eastwood"-- doesn't feel out of place could be taken as testament to how successfully eclectic the album is. But in actuality, it's a sign of the record's short-lasting, faddish appeal. Gorillaz is the definitive side-project: Even at its best, it's never more than a divergent one-off stint. Albarn may occasionally succeed on non-Blur outings, but as with Coxon and Alex James' solo affairs, they only further prove that Blur is equal to much more than the sum of its parts.

Is this the wrongest anyone's ever been?

6.9 is still well above average

that review is accurate

accurate

The average pitchfork score is 7.2

so?
why are you guys so butthurt they didn't like it. go write an review on rym and prove it too other people why its worth an higher score besides "it sounds good to my ears"

I legitimately feel like Childish Gambino is the corniest well known rapper of all time.

ah I didn't know that, might be because they mostly review albums that are 'supposed to be good' though

Someone says something wrong, I correct it, what's the big deal?

A review score doesn't influence my enjoyment of an album, but they do influence what new music I try out. I would never have listened to MBDTF if it didn't get a 10.

It would be sad if people missed out on Demon Days just because pitch4k gave it a below average review.

I think that's honestly part of his appeal though. Like he even self-references that a lot. It's nice to not have someone take themselves too seriously sometimes.

Childish Gambino is actually terrible. His voice is grating and his lyrics are almost entirely forced punchlines.

Art isn't for you then. Arbitrary numbers shouldn't be your guide
anyway you still haven't said why the scores should be higher?

I'm not sure what point you think you're making. Nobody is claiming the things you're attempting to refute.

...

>It would be sad if people missed out on Demon Days just because pitch4k gave it a below average review.
I asked he/she to explain why does demon days and camp deserve a higher rating
its simple

This deserves like a 9/10

i honestly couldn't finish this album when I listened to it

>If you buy only one hip-hop album this year, I'm guessing it'll be Camp.
Still my favorite review opening.

>6.9 is well above average
>it is literally below the average of 7.2
>omg why do you even care about reviews
>they affect the new music people check out
>art isn't for you because you've acknowledged a rating

You're all over the fucking place.

...

I'll go even further and say 5 years

Human Sadness is a great song

and you keep avoiding the question
why should it be higher?

dumb pleb

I'm not even that guy. I'm just annoyed by the smug, incoherent babbling you think constitutes an argument of some sort.

ugh stop being obnoxious

>3.5/10

Nah OP, I like Gambino but even I have to admit the lyrics in Camp are (no pun intended) Childish. I loved the production on it though.

Reminder that pitchfork doesn't actually give a shit about the music and how it sounds, they just care about what the album and artist "represent" and what their demographic is.

this album is the best thing julian has ever put out

Demon Days : introduced a whole generation to pop music that sounds fucking weird
>should be an 8
Camp : ambitious and quite unique production, lyrics are all over the place (which means that there are a few fantastic pieces too, like Kids and Outside)
>should be a 5

...

what album

everyone already knows this

Have you ever listened to Will Smith?

5.5

I can't understand them for this

die cis scum

why does this place care so much about what Pitchfork thinks?

why did you make this reply

it was literally entirely irrelevant to the subject at hand

you can't just ape funny memes at random times and expect it to work

because i hate your opinion

How'd u kno I wasn't white????!!

and also i read "cant" as "can" and now i feel bad

everybody makes mistakes bby

so we can know if we like the right music or not duh

Mars Volta-Frances the Mute

Never forget this moment
youtu.be/sar8csMKe9A

BTI was decent but Camp is legitimate garbanzo beans

awful fucking brony shit

I haven't listened to the album so idk what score it really deserves (probably not that low, that's like awful) but that's a super super well-written review

what?

The /mlp/ Sup Forums cup team uses get ready to die as their goal horn.

absolute garbage

Oh man, what a great post. Fucking nailed it man, fucking nailed it haha

The reviewer literally wrote that he is too retarded to pay attention to the album

ugh why did you have to remind me of this

I like it

wtf Pia got a 4.0?

Make as many posts as you want on here about Pitchfork or Fantano about what albums they gave below average scores, You'll still get their fans that are majority of Sup Forums.

Like trying to debate the wind mate, just saying.

>Perdition City
>2.6

What the heck. How can you be this wrong. Like, I get not enjoying the album, but how can you say that it fucking blows that much. Goddamn

Also, P4K still calls Ulver a "black metal band" in their reviews.

I'm listening to it right now, I get the appeal but god damn, this is sounds like something some nerdy white kid would write.

never heard of this dude or album but i'm listening to it now and it's pretty good! thanks for the accidental recommendation brother.

>Ulver
>Angels of Light
>Old Time Relijun
>that low

fucking unforgivable

Scaruffi is right about this band

it's probably because it's so badly produced. it deserves a 0.8

Thanks for reminding me.

nah bro, you don't. trust me

...

>4.7
