admit it Sup Forums
Pet Sounds was the best album of the 1960s
It is. ThereĀ“s nothing to admit.
Brian Wilson > lennon memecartney
It's overrated hardcore bud
7.5/10
The Fugs, The Monks, TVU, Beefheart, Stooges, Hendrix, Can, all had better albums
...
Anyone else seen Brian Wilson this year for the pet sounds 50th tour? I was laughing too hard during the instrumentals when he just sits there and checks his watch
>The Fugs
absolutely not
>The Monks
lol
>TVU
probably
>Beefheart
yes
>Stooges
maybe
>Hendrix
no
>Can
monster movie is weak
you don't have to be contrarian about everything, you know
its ok to like pet sounds :^)
That's not The Velvet Underground & Nico.
>Live/Dead
>Piper at the Gates of Dawn
>A Saucerful of Secrets
>Revolver
>In the Court of the Crimson King
>Astral Weeks
>Yes' self-titled
>Fifth Dimension
Hell I don't like the album that much but even is better than Pet Sounds.
>Wrong.jpg
>le wrecking the contrarian
I clearly am fine with Pet Sounds, it's just hyper overrated
>Monster Movie is weak
Please stop
Velvet Underground were a bunch of pretentious wankers. TVU&N is a 7/10 at best.
The Beach Boys were absolute masters at vocal harmony, Pet Sounds is 100x more complex than any of those albums you listed.
>King Crimson. Pink Floyd
Oh boy, more wankers
Any of u seen Love & Mercy, it's a fucking great movie and explains why Brian Wilson is/was the best songwriter of that era
>>Beefheart
>yes
Opinion disregarded
>all these white rockists pretending that Miles Davis, Freddie Hubbard, both Coltranes, Pharoah, Sun Ra, Dewey Redman, Ornette, Mingus, Herbie, Sam Rivers, Dolphy, Blakey, and Tony Williams didn't all drop better albums than pretty pretty pop
True best 60s album comin through
>muh kewl sax solos and jazzy pianos and drums xD
Jazz is the definition of wankery.
>Pet Sounds is complex and therefore good
>TVU, King Crimson, and Floyd are all wankers and complex in a bad way
Genuinely awful taste
safe as milk is one of the best albums ever recorded, deal with it
but it is weak. their following albums are a lot more interesting
>Sun Ra
>Genuinely awful taste
Says the Plebhart fan
All good picks. But sorry. You guys are all wrong.
>Miles Davis
>Charles Mingus
>Eric Dolphy
>John Coltrane
>Ornette Coleman
>Herbie Hancock
I can understand what you're saying about whitey stealing nigger rock, but bop & cool jazz were never popular enough with the cracker mainstream to be stolen by them. They might have borrowed some shit from them, but not to the point of blatant plagiarism
Jazz was immensely popular among whites
Yes, but I don't think white artists copied it as much as they did with R&B and other black pop music
It's the best of all time.
>Chet Baker
>Dave Bruebeck
Both massively successful doing what black dudes innovated
This nigga gets it
I agree. But Sup Forums has probably only listened to TMR. Safe as Milk is a totally different album. It's a great and not too weird blues rock album.
Holy shit, Beach Boys fans are so fucking embarassing
But neo Sup Forums doesn't. It's all about pop nowadays. It's sad, really.
>implying Safe as Milk is better than TMR
you cannot make this shit up
But neo Sup Forums doesn't. It's all about pop nowadays. It's sad, really.
But neo Sup Forums doesn't. It's all about pop nowadays. It's sad, really.
THIS
why is this album so underappreciated here?
it seems to me that the years of 66-69 were loaded musically
this
Absolute fucking fact.
