Pffft wtf grime sucks shit compared to American hip hop
>fruity niggas with women clothes spittin about their "hard lives"
na
>grime rapper literally wearing American basketball apparel
>you'll never be able to pull off women's clothes
>>grime rapper literally wearing American basketball apparel
what does that have to do with music?
fucking. JFs man
grimes made on the streets, rap by shlomo goldstein inc
why is kanye dressed like cunt dooku
What does "fruity niggas with women clothes" have to do with music?
>implying Kanye could pull off that Darth Tyranus Jedi-core
You need to be specific on a certain genre, because if you think grime itself could take on the litany of sub genres within hiphop that the US has created you're beyond retarded.
there isn't one.
They aren't even remotely similar. Most grime MCs are rappers, sure, but the ideas of grime MCing are very far removed from what american rappers do.
besides grime instrumentals are way better

nah hahaha but it's not like the two are actually all that similar

UK FAG here, but the US wins hands down.
Grime has some good artists, but it is all so samey, trying to sound like the breakaway, standoutish few. Plus the style is associated with terrible people.
I'm from the UK and I fucking detest grime, from what I've heard it all the sounds the same and is very boring.
senpai u must be clueless if u genuinely care about mcs desu
please don't pretend 2 be britsh if u can't convince anyone
lol this post got picked up by my "grimes" filter
>associated with terrible people
see, like this cunt
Case 1 for Grime:
nikka was just about to post this
absolute badman tune
Holy shit
you can say what you want about skepta but hes still poppin
Grime is shit
There's some idiot from my shitty little town in Scotland how got involved with "grime" and somehow he got signed by an independent label.
He's now convinced he's the shit despite rapping shit lyrics over the top of garageband tier loops he got online.
Fuck grime.
So just because that guy is shit you assume every grime artist is shit?
Put that fallacy back into your oversized anus.

Personally I prefer UK Grimes.

BIG ON ____
BIG ON ____
so many underrated songs out there
grime hits closer to the original rap
rap these days turned into generic pop music
US Grimes is 100x better
Grime has more influences like d&b and dancehall. UK Grime has African and West Indian heritage. Good beat makers from the Techno days.
nah senpai it's just britbong hip hop
> MC: So is it a new UK form of hip hop?
>Wiley: Yeah it is but it hasn’t been called that yet. But it is very similar because everyone writes their beats, everyone writes their songs, it’s rapping but English. That’s the only difference. People are just talking about their lives.

This is a good point.
Grime is very much still alive, maybe even still in its prime.
Hip-Hop is barely breathing. It's pop music. The genre is being kept alive by very small group of genuinely talented artists.
Hip Hop WAS better than Grime is now.
But Grime IS better than Hip Hop is now.
>Grime is very much still alive, maybe even still in its prime.
you weren't there.
Grime is dead, has been dead for well over ten years.
it's still holding on as a shadow of its former self and it's not thanks to MCs who were barely acceptable 13 years ago.
It's as dead as dubstep at this point, but it's lacking the people zealously obsessing over it.
fuck, I'm so old.
>Grime Artist
>From anywhere but London
Doomed from the start
this
grime is so dead now that anyone being even remotely inventive doing grime is guaranteed to be from somewhere like fucking earkshire or denver or somewhere and would be described as 'future grime' or something equally banal (and possibly racist) because it can't be just 'grime' because it's inventive and grime can't be inventive because it's dead
i dunno
kahn and neek are still putting out neat instrumentals
but there hasn't been any new mc worth shit other than rocks
don't get me wrong i still love trimble but yeah new good MCs are hard to find
if someone is too good or inventive then they are suddenly 'not grime'
this happens with a lot of genres eventually, as it gets exported and more outsiders start making it, the hardcore start to exclude them for not being 'real' enough, and it stagnates
