How do this kind of buildings make you feel?
I feel. Poor fucks, have no comfy village/ small town
...
...
I´ve read they are expensive as fuck, too.
Life must suck as a middle class man.
2bh I'd rather live in a Chinese village than here
My father likes Hong Kong. He said Hong Kong looks so attractive and exotic.
I wonder how a person from thousands of years ago would react to today's life. Imagine that fellow who hunted with rock weapons seeing those high rises? Would he feel proud of what his descendants made it? Or would he feel differently?
He would be amazed by the scale itself.
Ancient Roman -> modern Italian.
WTF went wrong
Commieblocks may be OK, but only if they are not higher than 4-5 floors, anything above is disgusting and creates some kind of dehumanized atmosphere.
Consider me jelly.
depends completely how it looks on the inside
People who live in cities don't give a shit how their building looks from the outside
>ywn part of a hong kong gang controlling high rise buildings dredd-style
kill me
Never forget the Ultimate Commieblock of the Gods
Yes it's dehumanizing if you are from some small fucking village and never saw big buildings in your life before.
But anyway I will agree that's true for Poland, even Warsaw doesn't need tall residentals, 4-5 floors is totally enough, just pack them densely enough.
It's another story with HK, most of it's urban districts literally have a population density of 40,000+ it's so extreme that such tall buildings are simply necessary.
Remember than thanks to all these "monstrocites" Hong Kong can enjoy a vast green space covering roughly 3/4 of it's administrative territory.
Property prices in Hong Kong are expensive as fuck
but the rent of pubic housing is quite low
Elevator lobby
We need to squeeze into crowded elevator every morning.
Everything is stretched in Hong Kong
even the bus.
i dont even think ive been in a high-rise building before, at least not an apartment one. The idea of it is very appealing, looks comfy. It just has that succinct and contained feeling. I wonder what leaving and returning to your apartment feels like. Would try it desu.
I want to go to China for vacation but don't want to bother with the visa, shall I go to HK instead? I've been studying simplified though
Yea, we can go hiking as regular exercise everyday. The natural environment is really close to us.
Your water is polluted as fuck though. same with the air. Fucking China
Pls come back
that's pretty cool, especially at night
Wut? Hong Kong is as same as China. We have strict environment protection regulations unlike mainland China.
*is not
Absolutely disgusting, asians behaved like ants, not humans
i jelly
japan has no tall building
because earth quake will break them
>tfw I will never live in a comfy tall apartment
Why did I have to be born as a spudboy instead of a chink
what if the toilet gets clogged ?
I don think Hong Kong is a good place for travelling. Hong Kong is just a commercial city where is boring. I would travel Mainland China instead since Mainland China has more interesting places than Hong Kong. I recommend you to travel Nanjing where has lots of historical places interesting to visit.
It would never happen.
The corridor
a comfy playground
At least I wouldn't die in earthquake.
There is a difference between East Asian and post-commie blocks and those in N. America or Western Europe - for example in my block live three policemen, one stomatologist, several students, some retired people etc. while in the west those block are mostly inhabited by poor people.
Tfw you're about to break lightspeed but mom didn't get a waffle handle
Looks like shinra hq
Basketball court and football pitch
Op where do you live ?
View from my prison cell. :^(
Comfy as fuck
Tin Shui Wai, City of Misery
Isn't rent still expensive as fuck though cause there's still not enough land despite all the high-rises?
Would you be willing to reduce the amount of public land if it made your rent cheaper?
i'll be in one in a year :3
Hey op where you at senpai? Mk here
Its like my shitty commie block neighbourhood except it has taller buildings and its clenaner
Where are all the cars? Is it basically too expensive to have a car so everybody uses public transport?
The rent is quite cheap actually since it is public housing not the private one, about 200 usd a month.
Having a better living environment is more important than making the rent cheaper in my opinion.
天水圍
feels like commie-blocks.
>The rent is quite cheap actually since it is public housing not the private one, about 200 usd a month.
So where does the meme of "Most Hong Kongers pay horribly expensive rent to live in closet-sized apartments and cages" come from?
Basically only immigrants from mainland China live in those cages. They are not qualified to apply for the public housing.
How relevant is Putonghua in HK? Do many people learn it?
Who lives in the closet-sized apartments though?
It is easy to buy a car but hard to maintain a car. The maintenance cost is too expensive. The public transport system is also advanced here. That's why there are so few people willing to buy a car.
The city would be unlivable if there were a lot of cars in there.
The pollution they produce in large numbers is shit.
t.SoCal
In the middle of the LA basin like Compton you can smell the smog, and it gives you headaches if you're not used to it.
Would I, a GERMANY immigrant, qualify for public housing?
ok
Public housing? As in free?
as in subsidized
Some of the middle class.
They quit being gay when Christianity took off.
Dunno.
I've never seen one over twelve stories tall
Reside in Hong Kong for 7 years first.
Are the windows of those buildings painted?
Yeah sure, it must be awesome to hear even your neighbors' sneezes.
>In the middle of the LA basin
Well, that's because it's a basin. Cities with straight narrow streets and strong wind don't have such a problem.
High taxes, expensive fuel, no parking zones everywhere, I guess?
How is the subway system? Is it effective or you mostly use buses and taxi?
At least, even if you're a NEET and live alone, there is always someone who says "Bless you" when you sneeze.
Any inside pics or ideas on what to search for on google to see them?
I keep seeing those artistic slum shitholes, yet I doubt you live in one of those
Not too bad, if they are spacious inside.
On mainland China, those high-rises have 100 square meter on average, and yes, even middle class people regularily afford one or two of them.
They also have all the infrastructure around them to make them into pretty livable places.
What happen if there is a fire in the 15th floor or something?
How fucked people would be?
I need the feel and touch of a good ol' lawn. I might get crazy within this high rise buildings.
shops and shit are pretty much built-in in these habitation blocks.
Parks etc. are nearby.
>this shit
>livable
an average street
I imagine their quality of food is shit.
...
wew
why?
This is horrible.
yeah one story favela huts are much more cosy right
Favelas are also horrible.
SAIBAAPANKU!!
Not hongkong, but Mainland China, Yunnan.
Their food is top tier, though.
Makes me hungry for a pork bun
One of my friends moved to China, I can post some pics from her vk.com page.
Other high rises in the same city.
Though she doesn't have many interior photos.
One thing I also like about some Chinese cities is the broad bicycle roads they give you.
Driving to work takes too long due to traffic jams. Bicycle is masterrace there.
Feels like home.
>closest building above two stories is 20 miles away from me
Would you mind posting some more interior shots of these builds OP? I've always thought high rises were neat but rarely see them from the inside.
Comfy af
Would live in. Soviet commieblocks are just not like this, they are different and have more spaces between. This space is mostly occupied by cars, dirt and dead grass.
Live's being lived on the streets.
some surroundings are comfy af.
>These doors
Many of those hab blocks are within a compound with parks and recreational areas and their own shops etc..
